Dillon’s discography shows he can make a hit in just about any genre he sets his mind to. This is proven with collaborations between a large list of Dance music’s biggest names, such as Skrillex, Diplo, Calvin Harris, Martin Garrix, Alesso, DJ Snake, Kygo, KSHMR, NGHTMRE and many more. As if that wasn’t enough, he also shows off his versatility with non-EDM artists like The Chain Gang of 1974, Twista, Will Heard, Brendon Urie (better known as the singer for Panic! At The Disco), and more. From his latest social media postings, it seems that he’s setting his sights to collaborate more outside of EDM.
On Snapchat, Dillon showed that he was in the Dominican Republic inside a studio with the likes of Arcangel, El Mayor Clasico, as well as QuimicoUltraMega, three of Latin America’s biggest artists known for their mixture of hip-hop, reggaeton, and rap. We know that a second full studio album is coming from Dillon, according to a triple j interview from a few months ago. From that same interview, Dillon was quoted saying he wanted to “work more with Latin artists and do stuff that’s very Spanglish & Moombathon style”.
It’s still unconfirmed whether or not they all have finished up new music or if they’re just getting started, and whether or not this studio time is for Dillon’s upcoming album, or if he’s working as their producer laying down the heat for some of their new songs. Regardless, it’s exciting to consider a possible collaboration in the works.
Between snaps of his buddy Gerald and close-ups of his ever-changing facial hair decisions, Dillon has been teasing us with unreleased music he’s played out at his EDC Las Vegas and Electric Forest sets, both of which have been deemed in high praise from his fans. Only time and Snapchat shenanigans will tell what’s forthcoming from Mr. Francis.
In the meantime, make sure to check out those live sets below.
