Finally, the new deadmau5 album is getting official and we couldn’t be more excited. This past weekend, the mau5Â stopped by Pete Tong’s show to pull the wraps off his next LP. In keeping with his traditional antics, the album name is silly and originated from a Twitch chat. Titled W:/2016ALBUM/, the title is literally the location of the album file on his network server.
In any event, deadmau5 also took the time to preview the first single from the new album, called “4Ware“. The track originally made an appearance as a SoundCloud test, and in its final version, it brings plenty of old style “Faxing Berlin” vibes. In the interview, Joel told us to expect a lot of 80s sci-fi fantasy vibes on the album due to the purchase of a Prophet 10 synth. We have so much to look forward to, especially considering we now know the album will be hitting before January.
