Deadmau5 – Strobe (Com Truise Remix)
On most occasions I would feel inclined to be cliche in saying that you don’t “mess with a good thing”, especially when that “good thing” is a classic, and even more so when that thing is mau5. However despite my own personal adversity to change, it sometimes can bring about something great. Deadmau5’s 2010 album, For Lack Of A Better Name, featured the classic track, “Strobe“, and six years later, the wordlessly emotional track is still being transformed to this very day.
While many artists are in the midst of releasing “Closer” remixes, synth wave guru Com Truise has another track on his mind. The American producer released his captivating rendition of “Strobe” yesterday, and has received well over 20,000 plays on SoundCloud since. Truise’s remix thrives off of the crafty synth work of Deadmau5’s original track, creating an intricately layered house soundscape. Truise still maintains the haunting, recognizable melody of “Strobe”, but locates it in the background, leaving room for futuristic and erroneous synth work.
