Coachella Will Make History with 360 Degree Livestream

Remember when festival live streams first started coming into their own? They were almost all hosted on good ol YouTube, where you could stream it anywhere and even use it on your Google Cast devices. Then all of the festivals decided to get into the proprietary game and move their livestreams to Twitch or Yahoo Video or other random live streaming sites. YouTube, feeling left out of the party it started, has a big plan to come back to the top.

Everybody knows the virtual reality is the next big thing in electronics and Google has been at the forefront of the movement. To that end YouTube just announced 360 degree live streaming with a debut livestream of Coachella Weekend 2. Some of the sets included in this new experience are Run the Jewels, the Kills, and Matt & Kim. To make it even more realistic, the audio is set to change based on your view. Now’s the time to give in and buy a VR headset, even if its a basic Google Cardboard one.
