Imad Royal has released probably my personal favorite track of his. It’s a real effort to cross into the pop realm for the young producer. Co-produced/written by the very talented Blaise Railey, Brenton Duvall, and Amy Kuney – the lyrics are a witty glance into the hardships of artists as writers and producers. Lines like ‘It’s not Complex to get into The Fader’ is an ode to the veil of elitism and ‘homie hooks’ given by music insiders, regardless of merit. Classic example of “it’s not what you know, it’s who you know’. Feigned messages aside, it’s a catchy bit of music that is yet another quality notch on Royal’s 2016 belt.
