Lane 8 – Midnight
Back in July, Lane 8 dropped his debut album Rise, which blew the electronic music community away with its impeccably produced deep house crafted atop richly emotional and ethereal soundscapes. Since then, releases have been sparing, as the supremely talented German producer has only dropped a handful of stellar tracks like his remix of Maribou State’s “Wallflower” and frequent collaborator Solomon Grey’s “Miradors.” About a month ago, Lane 8 fans were given an hour and half long mixtape to tide them over, providing a refreshingly relaxing journey through the cold, bleak winter. Now, Lane 8 is back with a brand new original track titled “Midnight,” set for release on Suara on January 18th.
“Midnight” begins with a dramatically calming introduction that lets the listener breathe in deeply as soothing piano and ultimately a driving deep house beat kicks in. This captivating beginning completely immerses the listener in Lane 8’s beautiful musical universe, which progresses smoothly and organically while effortlessly raising the emotional temperature. Lane 8 is on another dimension when it comes to crafting wonderfully melodic after hours tracks, a feat he has proven once again with the absolutely enthralling “Midnight.”
