CRWNS is quickly turning New Orleans into his own personal playground with the remix of Drake’s bedroom anthem, “Hotline Bling”. Coming off a stand-out rework of “Lean On”, this latest record is a perfect follow up to the hip-hop infused, future bass anthem.
CRWNS enlists fellow New Orleans-based artist, Hyphee, grounding “Hotline Bling” with a distinct, vibrant sound reminiscent of the collaborators’ melting pot of a home. Layers of melodic synths drape perfectly over Drake’s croons. The percussions oscillate between the breaks and flourishes, showcasing CRWNS’ ear for intertwining hip-hop and dance stylings with ease.
A native of Chicago, CRWNS draws inspiration from two of America’s musical hotbeds. These nuances and idiosyncrasies are the building blocks of his take on future sounds. With the ultimate goal epitomizing the best in Chicago house and New Orleans bass music. Since making his debut, CRWNS has been a fixture in the thriving New Orleans dance music scene, sharing the stage with high-profile acts such as What So Not, Adventure Club, GTA, Slander, Crizzly, and more. On November 16th, CRWNS will be taking over New Orleans with Valentino Khan at the city’s boisterous nightclub Republic.
