JAHKOY – Let It Be
Think you know a little something something about modern Canadian musicians, eh? “O yeah, Deadmau5, Michael Bublé, Zeds Dead, they’re the best,” you may say, “Kiesza and the Weekend are also pretty dope vocalists, some of the best in the business.” You’re not wrong, but now you’re leaving out one of the best up-and-comers to come from North America’s top-hot since J Biebs picked up a guitar: JAHKOY. With his roots in Toronto and current home in LA, this young singer-songrwriter has been slowly building a musical repertoire deserving of some serious praise.
His latest release, ‘Let It Be’, is an uppity track with a light heart that’s pumping out some serious emotional vibes. Plucky synths and swelling chords flow creamy smooth in the background to match the young man’s mellifluous voice; with this production, JAHKOY continuous to successfully walk a hair-thin tightrope across pop, hip-hop, and dance music. Curious yet? This is a definite must listen, so check it out below, hype it up on Hype Machine, and enjoy.
