With his recent relocation to the shores of California, Spencer has devoted his skills to the direction of proper house music, and his release of House Music is a proper ode to the genre indeed.
Utilizing a thumping four to the floor backdrop and an old school – yet lightly veiled in the thumping drive of future house- beat that is also tinged with the sound of old school Swedish House Mafia flavors, ‘House Music’ is a delightful dance floor burner that should feel right at home near peak time in anything from underground sets to main stage festivities. The repeating vocal sample savagely attacks the top line with its old school nostalgia and is wonderfully interlaced with the bouncy, sawed up bass line. ‘House Music’ excels at simplicity, and that is one of the stapes of proper house.
