Calvin Harris – Slow Acid

Calvin Harris’ album, Motion, is certainly going to list itself as one of the top dance albums this year. The 15-track ensemble flaunts some major hits including ‘Under Control‘ and ‘Summer‘. However, Calvin smartly balances out these radio-friendly smashers with some songs that you wouldn’t necessarily expect to hear from him. Keeping his sound multi-dimensional, ‘Slow Acid’ takes an acid techno route that cruises below the speed limit. The cinematic music video that accompanies the song sports both action and thriller elements, creating great contrast in tone to prior visual works of his such as ‘Summer‘. The aesthetics of the ‘Slow Acid’ video are impressive enough alone, and although mainstream fans may not be able to step into a groove with this song, it is nice to see Mr. Harris expanding his style in front of such a large demographic.
