Steve James Joins Martin Garrix as Youngest Artist To Release on Spinnin’ Records

Steve James will join Dutch wunderkinds Martin Garrix & Julian Jordan this coming Monday as one of the youngest artist to be a part of the Spinnin‘ team with his remix of Zhu’s “Faded.” It’s a fantastic way to cap off a roaring summer for the Pennsylvania youngster, which saw him release acclaimed remixes of Felix Cartal’s “Ready For Your Love,” (via Dim Mak, no less), Clean Bandit’s “Rather Be,” and Somekindawonderful’s “Reverse.

All this, just in time for his Sophomore year of High School in the sleepy town of Johnstown, Pennsylvania -not exactly a hub for budding production talent, and “2 hours from the nearest set of CDJs,” as Steve likes to put it. Regardless of location, Steve has managed to cut himself an ever-growing niche within the new age progressive genre. The euphoric melodies and crisp soundscapes that his productions have become known for are miles ahead in quality than what one would expect from someone who doesn’t even have a driver’s license yet, and lucky for us, he is just getting started. “Faded” is the first step into an autumn that will see Steve take his first steps into the touring world, along with continuing his streak of high quality releases. Long story short, this young gun isn’t fading away.

Erik Arbores also had a release on Spinnin’s sub-label, Oxygen, at age 15.
