STS9 and Bassist David Murphy Part Ways, Cancels Upcoming Tour

STS9 has just announced that their Bassist, David Murphy, will no longer be with the group and will pursue other personal ventures. The remaining members, Hunter, Jeffree, Phipps and Zach state that they wish him the best and they will be embracing this change. This has come as a surprising and rather painful hit for long time fans of this electronic instrumental band; luckily there are no signs of them calling it quits and have only announced they are postponing their shows through February. These guys have been together since 1998, and have been prolific creators and performers, with 11 original albums to their name and whole host of big gigs. We here at EDMTunes wish them the best, and hope they can find a way to work things out with a new bassist.

In life, the only constant is change. We try to embrace this in our music and in our lives and its in this spirit that we announce STS9 and bassist David Murphy are parting ways. We are postponing our upcoming winter tour dates through February. We’ll miss David and wish him the best on his journey ahead.

To our fans, we can’t thank you enough for your understanding and continuous support. We are thrilled for the future of STS9 and can’t wait to share it with you.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you!

-Hunter, Jeffree, Phipps & Zach
