Where were you in 2003? What were you doing, where did you live… what were you listening to? Nik Roos, Martijn van Sonderen and Thijs de Vlieger were just getting started with their drum & bass productions in the Dutch countryside. That year, the trio now known to the world as Noisia released their first song ever, “Silicon,” on Nerve Recordings. Â The group acknowledges the huge role Internet technology and file-sharing sites (before SoundCloud, there was ElectronicScene.com) played in getting their music released and recognized. Â Ten years and one million SoundCloud followers later, Noisia is celebrating these major career landmarks with a free download of “Silicon” and a contest for their fans.
