Back in 1997 and 1998, Richard Mowatt started off his impressive career in Trance producing his first three club hits. Over the years to follow, he continued to release dancefloor anthems (under his alias Solarstone) including popular songs still played today including ‘Fireisland’ (with Aly & Fila), ‘Falcons’ (with Giuseppe Ottaviani), ‘Seven Cities‘ & many more. Without going into too much detail of just how many great tunes he’s been a part off, his accomplishments speak for itself, including a Solaris International radio broadcast which reaches 45+ FM and Internet stations to a fan base of over 8 million people. So what exactly do I mean by PURE Trance?
Welcome to New York City… an essential waypoint to stop by for partying & clubbing for everyone. Whether your tunes of choice is progressive house, dubstep, trance, or any other sort of genre, there simply is something for everyone. For a few hundred Trance fans, that stop was at the top floor of PACHA NYC on 46th Street in Uptown New York, on the dance floor of Pachita.

Michael Gin, resident DJ of Esscala Entertainment created the atmosphere to set the mood for the rest of the night, and did a great job at warming up the crowd for Solarstone. In the later portion of his set, more people started to pour in through the doors leaving which quickly packed out Pachita. As part of his special New York City debut, Solarstone made his way up to the decks at around 12:45 and would play a complete 3 hour set for his first time here. Lots of heavy uplifting 140bpm tech-trance kept me on my feet for 95% of the night, and even then I couldn’t help moving along to the beats of Solarstone. Using old-school CDs in a large collection of his tunes, Solarstone had the perfect song for every moment of the night. No “Electro Bangers”, No “Trouse-y Tunes”, Just PURE Trance.

The highlight of my night was the spine-chilling tingles during “I Don’t Deserve You” or during Solarstone’s Pure Mix of “Unity” by Orkidea. Other honorable mentions of the night include Solarstone’s remix of “Jump The Next Train”, “We Can’t Fly Anymore” and “Please” (absolutely stunningly beautiful tune).

So thank you Rich ‘Solarstone’ Mowatt for showing New York City what “PURE” Trance is.. Your beautiful style of music is truly a “Jewel” which has placed us all under a “Spell”. Needless to say, New York City eagerly anticipates your return back..

More importantly, I want to thank the friendly & strong team behind Esscala Entertainment. It’s easier to get the usual names to come back to New York including Markus Schulz, Ferry Corsten, Dash Berlin & others.. But its nights like these where you can really appreciate the talent that flies into our beloved city. Solarstone’s first time here was a large success and much of that is due to the planning and work of Esscala Entertainment. Continue to do what you guys do, which is keep REAL Trance alive in our city.. because the fan’s will always be there to support you back.

First those who have not been to an Esscala party yet.. Be sure to check back in to Pachita next week on Friday March 1st for a special debut of Daniel Kandi & Ferry Tayle playing individual sets followed by a special b2b set. Tickets are available to purchase here: Wantickets
