The once super secret Apple has lost its secret keeping abilities over the years. Unfortunately, by the time an iPhone is officially announced we tend to know most of what is announced in advance. With the Anniversary iPhone 8 we’ve seen plenty of evolving mock-ups so we probably have an idea on what it will look like by now.
Now we also know when it will be released. According to an alleged internal memo, Apple is imposing a blackout on time off for AppleCare staff between September 17 and November 4. The memo reads:
As you know, there are new product announcement and launches in September. In anticipation of the upcoming events and the corresponding heightened call volume expected, we will be increasing our staff across all of our programs over the summer
So we feel confident that the phones will be announced on September 17 and that the rumored iPhone 7S will drop soon after that. With the other rumors about iPhone 8 production delays, we might not see the iPhone 8 until November or even later depending on supply.
