Axwell Dishes On The Origin Of His Name & More In VH1 Interview

Sven Axel Christofer Hedfors, better known for this stage name as Axwell, has been an iconic presence in the dance music world for over two decades. After producing unforgettable tracks with world-renowned Swedish House Mafia and now one half of the duo of Axwell /\ Ingrosso, Axwell has definitely engraved his name into EDM history. Featured in the latest episode of VH1’s Inside Access, Axwell shares with us the origin of his name and even drops some new updates on his upcoming track.

Axwell has been electrifying crowds all over the world but in his latest interview with VH1, he speaks out about the special bond that he shares with his fans in India as well as his love for Indian food.

When asked about how he came up with his stage name, he stated:

“Well you know, in school, we just gave each other names, nick names all the time. And mine actually evolved from when I started to make music. My real name is Axel, so it just came from there. Axel, Axelars, Uxel and then it went to Maxwell House for a little bit and then it just came down to Axwell.”

He later went on to state that if he were not a DJ, he would have been a computer nerd of some kind, as it was his initial passion for computers that first introduced him to the music industry.

Axwell also shed some light on his newest track entitled “I Love You”. The track is produced with his long time partner, Sebastian Ingrosso and was released this Friday, January 27th.
