Fifteen years. Let that sink in. Most of us cannot hold a single job for fifteen years without needing a mental health day, and Rezz spent that stretch behind a CDJ rig in front of tens of thousands of people, night after night, city after city. The machine does not ask if you are okay. It just keeps scheduling dates.

What makes this different from the standard artist cancellation announcement is how grounded and unguarded it is. There is no PR polish on it. She is not citing “exhaustion” in that vague, opaque way artists sometimes do when something deeper is going on. She named it: her body forced her to stop, her conditions are made worse by touring, and the only path forward is a real pause.

Here is the part that matters most for the long game: Rezz was clear that music is not going anywhere. “Music is still magic to me and I still have songs to release,” she wrote. “For now I have chosen the necessary path of healing.” That is not a retirement announcement. That is an artist protecting her ability to keep creating, which is exactly the move you want to see.

Fisher spoke about it. ILLENIUM has spoken about it. Now Rezz is speaking about it not in retrospect, but in real time, in the middle of the crisis. That takes courage, and it deserves respect. Not just from fans, but from an industry that still too often treats artists like a renewable resource.

The six shows she is cancelling span the remainder of 2026. Crankdat has already been announced to step in for her at Breakaway in Colombus. Tomorrowland is another one of those shows on the list and we will have to see who fills in. There is no timeline on the hiatus. It is indefinite, and that is okay. The scene will be here when she comes back. The fans who built their lives around her music, the ones who drove hours to festivals with those light-up goggles, will be here too. They have already been showing up for fifteen years. They can wait.

Wishing Rezz a full and genuine recovery. Take all the time you need. The music will mean that much more when it comes from a healed place.
