Hardwell at SAGA

As seen above, Hardwell addresses the crowd and puts the organizers on blast for the equipment failure. Moreover, the artists claims the festival did not pay him for his set but he still went there to perform as his commitment for his fans outweighted the inconvinience.

Nevertheless, the festival was quick to fact-check Hardwell’s hard claims. Per below, the festival explains that had the DJ brought it to attention that the equipment was faulty, they would’ve rushed to help and make sure his set ran smoothly. Furthermore, they stated that the equipment came to Romania from the Netherlands, at the same time the DJ traveled to the event. Lastly, the organizers claim that the DJ was indeed paid, and the stage was functional for another major Headliner Will Sparks. Saga emphasized that other big names in the industry performed in all other stages without any issue.

What team are you on? Was Hardwell on the right to call out the event halfway through his set? Should we believe the SAGA’s claims that they would’ve cooperated with the artist? Did he get paid? So many questions, so little answers. We hope that we can find the truth in the situation and have both parties receive their best outcome, whatever it may be.

It seems as though everyone has one, and sometimes several haters. Although one can’t be phased by their personal thoughts and/or feelings of us, on occasion it’s hard to overlook such a powerful opinion. This may be the case for Porter Robinson as he has recently been put on blast by the Los Angeles based producer 12th Planet.

As many of you know, the American DJ has released his debut extended play (EP) under the beloved alias Virtual Self. Ever since the EP was released on November 29, 2017, as the first release on the eponymous record label Virtual Self, fans have truly been captivated by this intriguing new persona.

Recently, the hardworking superstar has announced that his alias will be dropping a fresh EP – leaving many fans, and dedicated followers very intrigued…including 12th Planet.

If you haven’t heard ‘Key‘ we strongly suggest that you listen before reading the highly discussed response by the drum & bass DJ.

Check It Out Below:

Although the new music video is getting quite a bit of positive feedback, the EP itself is not a favorite for 12th Planet.

Check Out His Comment Below:

It seems as though he is not the only one that feels this way as many fans have expressed their agreement with the daring musician through several social media platforms, including Redit.

What do you think? Does he have a valid point? We always stand by the saying “haters gonna hate” – everyone is entitled to showcasing their own creativity, even if it doesn’t please everyone.

Many DJ’s often spend their free time at the gym working on their strength and endurance training. With countless days on the road touring and traveling, artists don’t have much time to focus on themselves and their overall health. But two of the best in the business have built up a reputation for staying in shape.

Laidback Luke and Steve Aoki are very well-known for their impressive physical strength. They showed that despite their extremely busy schedules, even the most preoccupied and famous producers can have a great work-life balance.

In the past, the dynamic duo teamed up to create one of electronic dance music’s most popular tracks, ‘Turbulence‘. Recently, they got back together to face off in a… UFC ring? Wait – what?

It’s not what it looks like. The hard-working pair released a video in which they come together in a fighting stance on an official UFC ring. Although their fans were quick to start placing bets on who would win- or at least that’s what we are speculating- the clip is actually to promote their new upcoming collaboration.

Giving their fans a highly anticipated preview of their fresh track, they certainly did not disappoint. The quick musical clip showcases an undeniable hype melody, leaving their dedicated followers wanting more and more.

The fun-loving video is definitely worth the watch. Check it out below:

Cabana Pool Bar is Under Police Investigation as Awful Abuse Surfaces Online

One of the best aspects about going out is knowing that when you are in a party atmosphere you can count on ample security to keep you safe. On occasion altercations can occur, and with the right training the security guards will step in to ensure that the intimidating situation is dealt with efficiently and quickly before any injuries occur. Recently, Cabana Pool Bar has been put on display as videos have surfaced online demonstrating severe forms of violence in between a partygoer and a bouncer –  however, the security team are the ones under the microscope as they did not serve their primary duties to protect the attendees, but instead insue injuries upon them.

On July 30th, 2017, Cabana Pool Bar located on 11 Polson Street in Toronto, Ontario, was faced with a brawl that involved an extremely physical encounter between an attendee and a security guard. Many videos and witness statements have arose on the Internet which resulted in the police investigation currently taking place.

Josh Gomes, a partygoer that was involved in the physical altercation, told CTV News Toronto that the incident ignited when his friend, Alvaro Cuadra, got into an argument with a group of security guards when one of the bouncer’s allegedly got violent and confrontational with his girlfriend because she was smoking a cigarette.

The incident escalated as Gomes and his friends chose to intervene when they witnessed one of the security guards put their friend in a headlock – in which Gomes described as “when the commotion took a step in another direction” when he threw a cup of water at the bouncer because a group of them were beating his friends.

“Now, I’ve been clubbing a lot and that’s a normal thing – if he’s getting kicked out, he’s getting kicked out. It’s normal. But then I saw a bunch more bouncers hop in and start beating on him, punching him. That was too much.”

https://www.facebook.com/RyanCalvertRealEstate/videos/10212084097490810/

When the cup of water was thrown, and the brawl progressed, it has been reported that one of the security guards “unleashed” and pursued to punch Gomes in the head. As the video demonstrates, the bouncer and Gomes take a moment to pause and stare at each other. Gomes has reported that he asked “What was that about?” in which the bouncer responded “What’re you going to do?”. The suspenseful event continued from there.

“I didn’t see it coming so everything was in a daze. There were punches coming from a guy who’s a lot bigger than me. He’s supposed to be bouncing the place and yet I’m fighting him for no reason.” Gomes reported.

Cuadra decided to take matters into his own hands and confront the bouncer about the situation at hand – that’s when the security guard retaliated to do the same.

“He actually grabbed my girlfriend in a really aggressive manner and I approached him and said, ‘Don’t touch my girlfriend like that. Once I did that, another bouncer came up from behind and punched me.”

Gomes and Cuadra have both disclosed that they felt as though they needed to defend themselves as a group of four security guards became involved in the commotion.

“They kept beating me. That was at least another four minutes. I just kept protecting myself and my girlfriend was near me screaming for them to stop, but they didn’t stop,” Cuadra said.

Recently, a second video, seen below, has been circulating online through social media channels such as Facebook. As many video clips do not demonstrate the entire course of events, this second clip acknowledges that fact as it does not appear to show Cuadra involved in an altercation with multiple security near the event venue’s docks. He continued to claim that he was allegedly forcefully brought to the back of the venue, out of the sight of all the event’s security cameras, where bouncers continued to beat him.

INK Entertainment, the well-known Toronto company that’s in charge of throwing events at the infamous pool bar, has confirmed that the incident is now in the hands of the police as Gomes has made an official statement with the station. INK Entertainment has released the following statement as well as looking into the video evidence featured above:

“Cabana takes incidents such as this one very seriously,” the company said in a written statement provided to media. “We are cooperating with the Toronto Police Service so that they can understand the entire context of what took place, including the customer conduct that led to the altercation. Our priority is to ensure that our venue is a safe place for everyone, including staff and customers,” the statement continued. “This was a very unfortunate incident.”

Today, the pool bar has released a second statement, seen below:

“We are extremely troubled by the incident that took place at Cabana Pool Bar on Sunday, July 30. During the course of the police investigation, staff involved in the incident will not be working or attending Cabana Pool Bar or any other INK venue. Further, INK Entertainment has contracted the services of a third party conflict management and de-escalation firm comprised of former law enforcement trainers, who will provide an updated course to all security personnel on-site. Cabana Pool Bar has a long history of providing high levels of safety and security for our guests and staff; we are taking the necessary steps to ensure that safe environment. In addition to co-operating with the investigation, Cabana management will meet with each staff member to reiterate that guest safety is paramount. Any changes needed at Cabana Pool Bar that we identify or as identified by the investigation agencies will be implemented immediately.”

The physical altercation resulted in specific doctor’s orders for Cuadra and Gomes to stay home from work for two days – both individuals suffered from bruises on their jaws, foreheads and cheeks, not to mention Gomes was allegedly spitting out blood for the remainder of the day of the incident.

The investigations are still underway but one thing is certain: by definition, a bouncer is ‘a person employed by a nightclub or similar establishment to prevent troublemakers from entering or to eject them from the premises’ and in the future, we hope to see them follow that explanation more precisely.

No proof has been found that ZHU actually stole from Duke Dumont but many fans and news outlets are stating that besides the name there are no similarities. ZHU’s track contains an eerie, horror-film vibe whose preview called out some of the top current djs including Marshmello, Kygo, The Chainsmokers, Alan Walker, Afrojack, Zedd, David Guetta and Steve Aoki.

A tweet full of SHADE and no words. Clearly ZHU is standing his ground and denying that he stole. Is this a situation of coincidence or did he actually happen to steal from Dumont’s 11 month old demo? Take a listen to ZHU’s track below and decide.

“The initial investigation uncovered that there was a verbal dispute between two different groups of individuals employed by the same security vendor working at the festival that escalated into a physical altercation,” Indio police stated. One victim received a stab wound to his abdomen and is currently being observed in the hospital in good condition; the second was injured on his face and head and was released shortly after being hospitalized. The weapon was a pocket knife, according to Marshall; although there were witnesses, detectives are still looking for further tips about the fight. There is no more formidable Twitter fighter than Joel Zimmerman aka deadmau5 and today, Avicii jumped into the ring to take some shots. It’s no secret that deadmau5 does not care for the Swede, taking shots at him at every opportunity he gets. Let’s not forget the infamous Ultra 2014 troll or his endless jokes about “Levels”. Today, however, Avicii took to Instagram to take a playful jab at Joel, joking that he should come share in Avicii’s creative process and learn the piano from him.

This comes days after the Canadian producer slammed Avicii and other DJs in a lengthy tumblr post.

(Edit: Heres Joels post – google it) https://news.beatport.com/deadmau5-attacks-avicii-and-other-cd-playing-dipshits/ Hey Mau5 (@deadmau5)! I get your frustration, I struggle daily in an attempt to push the envelope musically and strive with my team to bring more innovative and creative elements to everything I’m doing, both in the studio and for live stuff… Id welcome your technical input and Id gladly help you learn the piano and all the melodic musical stuff… Come over to Ibiza and join me, Id love for you to sample some of my creative juices… Its tasty stuff… Really.. Clearly, things have escalated quickly since then. It got so ugly that deadmau5 accused Avicii of being a drug addict (which is a rumor that has been floating around for a while) and Avicii has responded with equal ferocity.

All across dance music the idea of PLUR is obeyed, and in many ways becomes a way of life for many people for the duration of the festival. However, there are always outliers, and that is unfortunately what we witnessed at this year’s edition of Stereosonic Music Festival in Australia this week.

A video of the fight has gone viral, and it is one of the most brutal we have seen at a festival yet. Disputes are bound to happen in areas packed with as many people as a music festival, but the aftermath of this fight is completely unnecessary. A large group of men are already tussling when the video begins, but one man (in the light blue shorts) took it upon himself to instigate with others around him. In the end, he got what he had coming to him when he gets hit from the side, knocking him out cold.

The video is not the representation any raver wants to have put on dance music culture. Let’s hope that the unidentified man received help following the incident. Fighting does not belong in our culture, and we hope anyone involved in this situation learned his lesson.

It’s no secret that Carnage has a hard time staying out of trouble. ‘Papi Gordo’ threw quite the onstage tantrum during his HARD Summer performance, was arrested in Miami back in January after he played 45 minutes over his set and is now finding himself in hot water yet again after being involved in a scuffle post-performance last night in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This was the last show of Carnage’s ‘Parental Advisory Tour‘, which had gone of without a hitch. The superstar DJ even shot 10,000 dollars out of a cannon at a previous stop, but it looks like he might need some of that money back to pay some possible fines.

According to Carnage, playing past his allotted time slot was not the issue, as he asked to play longer and the event staff allowed it. After the show was over and the artists stayed to meet with fans, security got a little pushy with the DJs and that is why the quarrel occurred. While he may have tried to play it off like it was no big deal, judging from Dzeko & Torres and Paris Blohm‘s social media accounts as well as some video footage, the altercation was pretty serious. Julian Dzeko states that he “almost took a bullet for Carnage” and Blohm tweets that he “punched a security guard”. Hopefully, all parties involved learn from the experience and Carnage can manage to stay away from the police while he works on his album.

Something in the Texas air is making DJs’ blood boil. Less than two months removed from the fracas that ensued at Mystic Music Festival in Houston, involving MiMOSA, Downlink, and a bottle of vodka, violence strikes yet again at this weekend’s Foam Wonderland in Austin. Crizzly, a member of War Path Group, appeared on Saturday night alongside fellow bass producer Oscar Wylde of CAKED UP, as a guest in his hometown of Austin, Texas, but soon found himself in a heated altercation mid-set. According to the video, Crizzly upset Wylde when he reached for the mixer, as the two are seen darting out of view of the camera. Just seconds later, Wylde returns to the decks and blatantly screams into the microphone ‘Crizzly just got punched in the face!’ The original report states that both parties involved seemed intoxicated, but soon after the events conclusion, Crizzly took to Twitter to vent, and confirmed his sobriety.

I’m sorry this is all getting out now. I’m really disappointed in someone who I thought was my friend.

— ♕CRIZZLY♕ (@crizzly) September 2, 2014

I’d also like to clarify I was 100% sober… hadn’t had one drink all night. — ♕CRIZZLY♕ (@crizzly) September 2, 2014

Oscar Wylde also took to Twitter to express his frustration with the situation.

Violence solves nothing, but neither does running your mouth. Nobody wins. #shitty — OSCAR WYLDE (@OMFGITSOSCAR) August 31, 2014

Although the exact cause of the altercation between the two bass producers Saturday night is yet to be known, we can only hope that both parties can move on accordingly to avoid any lingering animosity and further media attention. Check out the back-stage video below and let us know what you think about the situation.
