For de Vries, Obsidian is his first Drumcode release since ‘Mind Control’, his 2022 collaboration with Chris Avantgarde that became one of that year’s bigger underground moments. The Dutch producer has spent recent years building out a catalog that moves between peak-time techno and more melodic, textured territory, and this new pairing with Elvadin leans into the latter.

The two artists go back further than the release date suggests. Their relationship started in 2019, during de Vries’ first tour of Argentina, when Elvadin was tapped to open for him across the run of shows. The tour wrapped with the two playing a back-to-back set together, and the connection stuck. Since then, they’ve kept in touch and apparently kept trading ideas, which eventually led to this release.

‘Obsidian’ and ‘Feel Me’ Showcase Two Sides of the Duo’s Sound

According to Elvadin, the title track started as an idea he sent over to de Vries, who then helped shape it into its final form. ‘Obsidian’ plays out as a slow-building, atmospheric cut built for the later hours of a set — the kind of track meant for a 4am moment rather than a peak-time drop. It’s already made its way into some notable sets, including Beyer’s own at Drumcode’s 30th anniversary event in Mallorca back in May, along with a Drumcode night at Crobar.

The second track, ‘Feel Me’, takes a punchier approach. It’s got a squelchy, rolling bassline with a slightly psychedelic edge, giving the EP some range without straying from the duo’s shared sound.

The release continues a strong run for Drumcode, which has used 2026 to spotlight both veteran names and newer regional talent. For Elvadin, landing an EP on the label represents a significant marker in his career trajectory, and a reflection of how far South America’s techno scene has pushed into the genre’s upper tiers over the past few years.

From restored motels to a mattress factory

Jain made her name in Miami restoring 1950s motels along Biscayne Boulevard in Miami’s MiMo district, including the Vagabond Hotel, which she and her partners bought for $1.9 million in 2012. The Hialeah site came later. Terra’s David Martin and Michael Simkins bought the factory at 4800 Northwest 37th Avenue in 2018, the city council rezoned it for transit-oriented development, and Jain initially planned to work on the project with Martin. In 2021, the pair sold it to her for $10.5 million.

Instead of taking an acquisition loan, Jain brought in investors, including the owners of Club Space. David Sinopoli, Davide Danese and Jose Coloma Cano, friends of Jain’s, had been hunting for somewhere to throw large-scale events without constant neighborhood complaints.

“They said to me, ‘We need to find a place where we can make noise,'” Jain said. “Clubs have closed on the beaches, Wynwood, next to Space, so it was a really interesting challenge.”

Keeping the bones

Jain kept and reinforced the original walls, preserved the steel structures, hauled debris away by the shipping container and brought in 100 mature trees rescued from tree farms.

“Most people would have walked onto this property and wanted to knock everything down,” she said. “I saw the value in what was there.”

The paperwork mattered as much as the building. Hialeah officials knew Jain from her motel restorations, and she secured a 24-hour liquor license plus approvals that let the site host recurring music festivals without a new public hearing for every event. She told The Real Deal those approvals became as valuable as the property itself, since festivals book talent a year out and promoters won’t commit millions to artists, staging and production without predictable permits.

Insomniac signs on

Factory Town hosted its first pop-up events at the end of 2021, and by March 2022 Get Lost was taking over the entire lot for its 15th anniversary during Miami Music Week. In 2023, Insomniac signed a 10-year lease on the property worth more than $22 million, with two 10-year extension options, according to court documents cited by The Real Deal.

That partnership went to court in 2025, when Insomniac sued Sinopoli, Danese and Coloma Cano, alleging they concealed their ownership interest in the Factory Town real estate while negotiating the lease. The operators countersued, and the two sides reached a confidential settlement on June 30, with Insomniac keeping its commitment to the venue. Jain stayed out of the crossfire.

Five stages of house and techno

Much of the venue’s calendar runs as mini festivals around Miami’s big weeks, from Formula One weekend to Hocus Pocus at Halloween. During Miami Music Week, Factory Town has run five stages a night for five straight nights every year since 2024. The European house and techno brands that fit Miami’s taste keep coming back. elrow has thrown a party at every Miami Music Week there since 2024, and CircoLoco has hosted Factory Basel nights in 2024, 2025 and again this December. Jamie Jones brought Paradise in 2024 and 2026, Marco Carola‘s Music On ran from 2023 through 2025, and Drumcode has held a Miami Music Week slot three years running.

Beyond dance music

The calendar has stretched past dance music, too. FKA twigs brought her Body High live performance there in March with Eartheater. In September, Snow Strippers played with Bleood among the guests on the 19th, and Turnstile followed the next night with Mall Grab, Cold World and Collateral. III Points presented the FKA twigs and Snow Strippers shows, and its III Joints offshoot has taken over the grounds each April for the last two years, with Helado Negro on the 2025 bill.

What’s next

This year, for the first time, Factory Town hosted events prior to Hocus Pocus, featuring Sara Landry, Eli Brown, Fisher, Armin van Buuren and more. Later this year, Factory Basel runs December 2 to 6 during Art Basel, with Chris Lake, Solomun, PAWSA and The Martinez Brothers leading nearly 20 label and artist stage programs.

Hialeah’s slogan is “La Ciudad que Progresa,” the City of Progress. The officials who wanted Jain to bring a preservation project there ended up with a factory where the line forms before sunset and the dancing goes past dawn.

The series debuted earlier this year and built a reputation fast. Season one pulled in more than 30,000 attendees across six weeks and sold out eight shows, including a surprise open-to-close set from John Summit that sold out within five minutes of being announced and featured guest appearances from Feid, Subtronics, and Sidepiece. The first run also gave Framework room to experiment with format, hosting the CamelPhat Experience showcase, The Martinez Brothers’ Orbita tour, and a Lunar New Year installation from Long Feng that closed out the season.

Season 2 opens with two nights headlined by ZHU on December 4 and 5, kicking off a lineup that includes Black Book Records’ anniversary show, Drumcode LA, Bedouin presents SAGA, Nora En Pure, and Duke Dumont’s New Year’s Eve set. January brings Sasha & John Digweed, a deadmau5 show billed as a special birthday celebration, Nic Fanciulli & Paco Osuna, and an extended four-hour set from Layton Giordani, among others. February rounds things out with Hot Since 82, WhoMadeWho’s hybrid DJ set, and a Lunar New Year celebration from Long Feng featuring Carlita and Damian Lazarus & Tripolism.

“With re:frame Season 1, we saw there was a real appetite in Los Angeles for an experience that sits between the intimacy of a nightclub and the scale of a major concert venue,” said Framework CEO and co-founder Kobi Danan. “re:frame Season 2 allows us to expand that idea across an entire winter calendar. Each artist can create something distinct within the space, while every night contributes to a larger community and destination that audiences can return to throughout the season.”

The venue itself is part of the draw. Reframe Studios is a production campus in Atwater Village originally built for film and television work, with two soundstages spanning 20,000 square feet each and 33 feet of unobstructed ceiling height. That kind of space gives Framework room to rebuild the room from scratch for every show — new audio, lighting, video, and staging designs are planned for Season 2, continuing the venue’s approach of functioning somewhere between a nightclub and a soundstage built for spectacle.

Several dates are still marked TBA, and Framework says more artists and programming will be announced closer to the season. Additional partnerships include nimino and a special extended Layton Giordani set, both produced alongside Goldenvoice.

Framework has been building out Los Angeles’s dance music footprint since 2013, with a portfolio that also includes Hollywood venues Sound Nightclub and The Spotlight. Easy A follows Kaufmann’s appearances on Drumcode’s DC4 and A-Sides compilation series, along with her recent team-up with Oliver Huntemann on ‘K.O.’ That track has been getting airtime from the label’s inner circle, and it’s part of what’s fueled the buzz around her solo return.

Adam Beyer himself has been vocal about her rise. “She’s doing amazing music. I like her groove, her rollers and her vibe. She’s the real deal from Berlin,” he said. Between ‘People Are Strange’, the Huntemann collab, and sets at Awakenings and Drumcode Mallorca, Kaufmann has quietly become one of the label’s more reliable names for peak-time techno.

The two tracks on Easy A were built as functional tools for her own DJ sets — the kind of records made to work a room rather than sit on a shelf. Both cuts lean into the rolling, tension-building style she’s known for, with grooves that stretch out and slowly ratchet up the pressure rather than going for an obvious payoff. It’s a sound she’s been road-testing at Drumcode’s 30th anniversary event in Mallorca, plus stops at Awakenings, 909 Festival, Loveland, and Resistance.

The tracklist is straightforward: ‘Easy A‘ and ‘Nuff Said‘, two tools built for functionality first, with the kind of groove-driven arrangements that translate well across the festival stages and club rooms she’s been playing through 2026.

Kaufmann’s trajectory fits a familiar Drumcode pattern — compilation appearances and collaborations first, solo EP once the label is confident the artist can hold a slot on their own. With Easy A out now, that step has officially been taken.

German duo A.D.H.S. and Kos:mo team up for the first time on ‘Taste of the Night‘, though both have history with the label independently. A.D.H.S. linked with Bart Skils last summer for ‘Can’t Hear You’, while Kos:mo already has a DC4 credit to his name with ‘Samsara‘ on Vol. 2. Their collaboration is a punchy, rugged stomper that ramps up tension before settling into a slicker, rolling groove.

American producer Sam Wolfe makes his first appearance on Drumcode after building a catalog on labels like Experts Only, Filth on Acid, Octopus and 1605. His track ‘Control Delete‘ leans into a chugging, low-end-heavy structure, with a commanding vocal and a synth line that gives the groove some bite.

Peter Pahn is becoming a familiar name in Adam Beyer’s world. After a Truesoul contribution with ‘LOUDERRR’ and a run of Drumcode releases, he returns with ‘NOCTURE‘, a track that leans into the peak-time, high-energy sound Beyer has been playing out regularly in his sets.

Rounding out the EP is Gonzalo F, an Argentinean producer stepping onto Drumcode for the first time following releases on 1605 and Volta. His track ‘Disconnect‘ pairs delicate vocals and melodic touches against a harder, metallic percussive backbone, giving the compilation a track that stands apart from the rest of the lineup.

The collaboration started, fittingly enough, on Instagram. Charles D had been following KAF3R’s work for some time, including his track ‘Lost in Space,’ when KAF3R sent over a sketch that stood out from the usual scroll. “I’d been a fan of KAF3R’s music for a while, especially his track ‘Lost in Space.’ You hear so much music scrolling through Instagram, but this was one of those ideas that actually made me stop what I was doing,” Charles D says.

From there, KAF3R sent over the stems and Charles D got to work reshaping the idea into a finished record. According to both artists, the whole thing came together in about a week. “The whole creative process flowed naturally, and after a few versions, we ended up with a final track that’s full of energy and power. I’m really excited for everyone to hear it,” KAF3R adds.

‘Freak Your Mind’ leans into that late-night, peak-hour territory — proggy in its layering, trancey in its melodic pull, and dirty enough in the low end to keep it grounded on a club floor. It’s built for the point in the night when the crowd’s already deep in it and the DJ needs something that chugs forward without losing the plot, the kind of record made for those slightly sideways 4am moments.

The release adds to what’s been a steady run for Truesoul in 2026, with the label continuing to platform both established names and newer pairings within Beyer’s wider Drumcode network. For Charles D and KAF3R, it marks a first official link-up after what sounds like months of casual back-and-forth finally paying off in the studio.
