To Above & Beyond fans and followers, it’s no news that their milestone show celebrating the 600th episode of their Group Therapy radioshow, ABGT600, happened last week. And, as they always do, the first set to be performed is their very own hourlong film of a deep set. That video is out now for the world to see.

This year, ABGT arrived in Mexico City for a two-show weekender which included sets from Kasablanca, Alex Sonata & TheRio, Qrion, DURANTE, and many more. And Above & Beyond’s classic Deep Set took place in one of the most beautiful landscapes the Mexican capital has to offer: Xochimilco.

Xochimilco, the last vestige of an extensive water transport network constructed by the Aztecs, offers a unique experience. Colourful, gondola-like boats ferry visitors through the canals, while food vendors, artisans, and mariachi bands float by, creating a lively atmosphere. This Deep Set had the trio sailing through these canals, accompanied by a number of boats apart from theirs, with many friends and Anjunfamily HQ members. It’s beautiful.

The Set

Their hourlong trip offers an insight into the future of Anjunadeep, and the softest bits of Anjunabeats too. The boys played everything from a new Tim Green respray of their 2019 Flow State record ‘Homecoming’, Marsh and Volen Sentir’s new collaboration ‘Ascension’ — which just came out today —, PROFF’s incredible ‘Love On A Real Train’ retouch, and even a reimagination of the Orbital classic ‘Halcyon On and On’.

Watch the set below, or head over here. Be sure to WATCH it, not only listen to it. Soak in the full experience. Do it for me.

It took a while, a bit of hype, an amount of FOMO I’m ashamed to admit, but at last, here we are. You might be familiar with the news that Above & Beyond debuted their first-ever Peak-Time Deep set at a festival a few weeks ago in London. Well, now their historic set at Finsbury Park, where Anjunadeep Open Air London took place, is out on YouTube, in full length.

Of course, this is far from being Above & Beyond’s first-ever Deep Set, as it’s become a tradition by now that they themselves open their milestone ABGT gigs with an hourlong deep set. But that’s in the place of warmer-ups. Here, in contrast, the earlier acts warmed up the room for them, and the A&B boys, in this case Jono and Tony, truly delivered.

The Deep Set

Of course, the set couldn’t be quite so deep, in first place because the boys closed the night, but also because, well, it’s A&B, so they really experimented walking down the seam between Deep and Progressive, and Progressive Trance even. The set itself is a combination of Anjunadeep’s greatest, and their own productions in slower BPMs.

With that I mean to say, you can find tracks such as ANUQRAM’s remix of ‘Crazy Love’, both of their collabs with PROFF aka the recent Palermo / Fractals EP, iconic tracks such as Nox Vahn‘s ‘Brainwasher‘ and Joseph Ray‘s ‘Room 1.5‘, Yotto‘s legendary-by-now ‘Counting Down The Days‘ remix, and some special unreleased gems, such as Marsh‘s take on ‘Sun In Your Eyes‘, and a very, VERY special take on A&B’s Tranquility Base anthem, ‘Razorfish‘, courtesy of rising star Yeadon.

Watch the video in full below. And if you dare spoil yourself, have a peek at the tracklist below. Happy listening!

Now over, Above and Beyond’s 1 hour deep warm set has been uploaded to their YouTube channel in dazzling 4K. The trio had a special set which took place on a boat named the Aqualuna, which floated around Victoria Harbour in Hong Kong. Sadly, only family, friends, and crew were invited on the boat for the set. The stream captured the beautiful sunset and city skyline as Tony, Paavo, and Jono took turns at the mixing table. Tracks from Lane 8, Luttrell, Ben Böhmer, and Yotto were featured in the deep set. Additionally, a full trackless can be found here.

The official Group Therapy event took place on the 29th with acts from Ben Böhmer, Spencer Brown, Andrew Bayer, Grum, Above & Beyond, and Ian Bluestone (In Order). We can expect the rest of the livestreams to be posted within the next week or so. For now, enjoy this warm up set below to start your Monday off right!
