With the update, VirtualDJ users can export their libraries straight to a USB drive in OneLibrary format and plug into a growing list of AlphaTheta hardware, including the CDJ-3000X, CDJ-1500X, XDJ-AZ, XDJ-AN, OPUS-QUAD, and OMNIS-DUO. No more re-tagging tracks or rebuilding cue points because you’re playing on a different setup than the one you use at home.

OneLibrary itself launched in October 2025 as a joint effort between AlphaTheta and other DJ hardware and software manufacturers, aiming to standardize how libraries move between competing ecosystems. It’s part of a broader push from AlphaTheta to get brands working together on interoperability rather than locking DJs into proprietary formats.

Stephane Clavel, CEO of Atomix Productions, framed the update as an extension of VirtualDJ’s long-running approach to hardware compatibility. “DJs shouldn’t have to adapt to technology — technology should adapt to DJs,” Clavel said. “That’s why VirtualDJ has always prioritized openness and compatibility, enabling DJs to use any hardware, any format, and any workflow without friction. We welcome initiatives like OneLibrary that move the industry toward greater interoperability and simplicity.“

For DJs who split time between rekordbox and VirtualDJ, AlphaTheta recommends running rekordbox version 7 or later alongside OneLibrary, since the newer build optimizes library management and sync for better stability.

To actually use OneLibrary, you’ll need a version of VirtualDJ that supports it — AlphaTheta and Atomix aren’t the first names you’d expect to see working together this closely, but the collaboration fits a pattern of DJ brands slowly loosening their grip on proprietary ecosystems in favor of something more universal.

AlphaTheta says it plans to keep expanding OneLibrary support and continue pushing cross-industry standardization, with the goal of letting DJs build their sets and workflows without worrying about which brand’s logo is on the gear in front of them.

In the past, there have been several rumors about Pioneer DJ being sold or ceasing business due to mass confusion. To make things clear – Pioneer DJ and Pioneer Corporation are two entirely separate entities. According to djtechtools.com, an article has been published to help falsify these rumors. In Pioneer DJ’s official release, the company goes further into explaining the reasoning behind their AlphaTheta corporate name change.

“We’re changing our company name from Pioneer DJ Corporation to AlphaTheta Corporation. Our brands and brand names, including Pioneer DJ, will not be affected.”

The video was then reposted onto Twitter and it started gaining attention. Someone pointed out that this isn’t the first time Skrillex had done this. Skrillex’s behavior had upset some people. Others state that performance comes first. Additionally, someone compared Skrillex standing on the CDJ to artists smashing their guitars. Skrillex’s action has certainly garnered mixed responses across the board.

However, what’s ironic is that Skrillex had posted a video onto his Instagram account where the mixer stopped working mid-Chicken Soup. So perhaps it’s a good idea to treat the equipment properly.

Many DJs have been asking for a four-channel standalone rig for a long time. Denon DJ has finally delivered on this. The company announced that it will release the first-ever standalone DJ unit with four decks, named the Prime 4.

Other than four internal decks, the Prime 4 has a 10’ tilting touchscreen, a build-in hard-drive, four USB inputs, among a multitude of other features. The rig will run on Denon’s Engine Prime software, which should be able to read and import playlists and hot cues from Serato DJ Pro, Traktor Pro, and Rekordbox.

One of the more unique features that the Prime 4 will offer is an independent Zone Output. The device will have a second set of XLR audio outputs, which means that it will be possible to send a separate playlist to another room.

Denon announced that the price of the Prime 4 is $1,699 and will be available for sale in March 2019. Interestingly, the Prime 4’s price is set to the same as Pioneer’s XDJ-RX2, the two-channel all-in-one system that runs on Pioneer’s Rekordbox.

Although Pioneer has become the industry standard for festivals and nightclubs, this will surely put a blow on Pioneer DJ’s stronghold in the DJ gear market. While Denon’s Prime 4 is obviously not for main stage or festival use, it will be an excellent way for Denon to expose mobile DJs to their products.

With today’s news, it seems it’s about to get deeper. Pioneer has taken to the web to share with us the newest addition to its highly acclaimed XDJ line, the XDJ-RR. While technically still a DJ Controller, it is not classed with the DDJ Line of products. Instead it is an XDJ, being classified by the company as an “All-in-One DJ system for rekordbox”.

The XDJ-RR is the third in line of the XDJ products, following Pioneers flagship all-in-one XDJ-RX2. The newly announced RR model is almost identical to the RX2, with only a few key differences. One of these is it’s $1,099 price tag, which is $600 less than the $1,699 that the X2 goes for.

The new XDJ-RR will feature three beat FX, to include Echo, Reverb, and a Flanger. It will also include four Sound Color FX, which are a Filter, Noise, Dub Echo, and Pitch. It will include color waveforms, which will make visual beatmatching easier. It will also be smaller and lighter than previous models. A couple of drawbacks for the device are that it will not feature a touchscreen, will only feature four performance pads, and will not include a booth out.

Overall, while still pricey at a whopping $1,099, it is ideal to help an aspiring DJ go from the “BEDROOM TO MAIN ROOM”. It will definitely help in the process of transitioning to a full-blown CDJ setup and will save you nearly six grand in the process. Time to start saving. Check out a photo of the new RR below.

The new structure plays into the focus of the Tour1 line, as both the CDJ and the DJM will be able to withstand more of the physical wear and tear trauma that repeated setup and tear down at events have on these products.

The CDJ-TOUR1 will be able to play high resolution audio files up to 96kHz/24-bit, in addition to FLAC and ALAC formats. The CDJ-TOUR1 also has the same layout and performance features as the older CDJ-2000NXS2.

The DJM-TOUR1 is the world’s first DJ mixer to have an AES/EBU digital output, as well as a high-res word clock input. Which all adds up to incredibly precise synchronization and the best sound quality possible. The DJM will also feature a lockable LAN port, as well as two independent headphone inputs for easy back-to-back cueing.

The DJM-Tour1 is also the first mixer in the world to feature a KUVO Gateway on board, which will allow DJ’s to broadcast their song ID’s in real time on Pioneer’s KUVO social media platform to fans all over the world.
