The beef and steak started back at Ultra Miami 2025, where deadmau5 closed out the Worldwide stage playing a set full of his classics. The artist then closed out the set while picking up the microphone to make fun of the fireworks and whoever bought the $500,000 bottle service. Then, he got tired of his outro song ‘Faxing Berlin’ and started scratching the cdjs. The sentence that started the beef was: “How do I James Hype my way out of this one?”. Finally, he followed with: ” It’s real djing, I’m just saying”.

Hype didn’t stay quiet long, following the “shade” posting the clip on his socials, mixing in his newest release at the moment, ‘Don’t Wake Me Up’. Hype kept going more recently, promoting his newest live show, “Sync”. The artist used deadmau5’s logo projections to prove that you can play live and sync the visuals alongside. This is in reference to Zimmerman’s past claims that one can only sync visuals to a pre-recorded set and that it is not possible playing live. Hype ended his video with a picture of deadmau5 during one of his studio sessions while he’s eating.

deadmau5 refused to let Hype have the last laugh, as he threw a barrage of comments, making fun of Hype and joked about Hype’s effort to try to undermine him. Sometime later, Zimmerman went the extra mile and responded with a flurry of posts on Instagram where he shows how he synced the cdjs to his monitor in 5 minutes. To make matters more intense, the videos show Joel playing Elden Ring, a massive successful platform game, using the decks as controllers.

Nonetheless, deadmau5 loves to joke around and one of his posts states it’s “not that serious”, but is he being real, or trolling us yet again.

Fresh off the launch of his own imprint and event series WHYNOTUS, Club Space resident and global talent Malóne is on a roll. Often associated with the Dance kinds that span Afro and Tech House of the highest order, he’s teamed up with Miami-based Jesse Bravo, for a collaborative anthem filled with power.

Cuba-born-Miami-based Malóne swiftly moved up from the more underground scenes to summit-reaching spotlights, after signing on imprints such as Experts Only and Insomniac, and unveiling highly successful tracks such as ‘Muy Bien’ and ‘Besame’, both of which claimed the top spot on Beatport’s Afro House chart upon release.

On the other hand, Jesse Bravo arrived in Miami from Los Angeles, following his passion for music. His production style blends traditional Latin sounds with the energy of Tech House, polishing a creative sound which has taken him as far as founding his very own imprint, Used Goods.

Their joint product is simply titled ‘Beef‘, and was released earlier this week through Jesse’s label, Used Goods.

‘Beef’

Fuelled by a captivating vocal sample reminiscent of 90s Rap fused with a groovy Tech House bassline, this track proves to be a must on any heated night on the dancefloor. Simplistic in nature, yet sophisticated in execution, ‘Beef’ is mainly led forward by catchy percussion, with core elements being hats and a fat clap, and occasional sounds refreshing the ears, mainly, a clave-like hit and background congas.

Ideal for the later moments of a warm-up set or the earlier stages of a main one, the tune masterfully balances the golden ideas of Tech House with the vocal lines, which can only amplify the excitement created with this track blasting on sun-kissed speakers or under the rapid-firing lights of a blacked-out venue.

And now we have the addition of new devices like smart speakers in the home, Alexa and Google Home, which increased listening opportunities for all of our audio properties.”

Quarterly revenue increased 32.8% year-over-year for iHeart during Q2. The service now reaches roughly 275 million Americans monthly.

Pittman states that iHeart has a “well-distributed listener base” compared to its competitors. Then, he went on to claim that “75% of iHeartMedia’s listening comes from 34% of our audience.” While “73% of Spotify’s listening comes from just 3% of their audience and 72% of Pandora’s listening comes from just 5% of their audience.”

A media analyst ran the numbers to illustrate now seemingly impossible those numbers are. Spotify founder and CEO, Daniel Ek jumped in to say that the statement is far from true. Spotify is a music streaming platform giant with roughly 232 million monthly active users in Q2 this year. However Pittman insists in the value of radio and that Spotify along with other streaming platforms benefits from the services of iHeart and other stations.

Cheat Codes find themselves again back on the news, last we spoke about them they had gotten themselves in an altercation with a fan at one of their shows in which they showed some inappropriate conduct. Now it seems they catching headlines over some possible beef with EDM Duo, The Chainsmokers.

Cheat Codes have a certain schtick at their shows in which they bring $1000 dollars cash and they then toss it into the crowd for everyone to grab at. Interestingly enough they aren’t the only one to do such a thing as many artist before them have also done similar gimmicks way before them. Nevertheless they seem offended when they caught wind that duo The Chainsmokers had something similar go down at one of their shows.

Cheat Codes took to twitter to voice their disgust about the similar schtick that occured at one of the many Chainsmokers shows stating “What else were they going to copy?”

Interesting enough, this also caught the attention of fellow Canadian DJ Shaun Frank to which he also voiced a reply to the situation at Cheat Codes.

He claimed that if this were the case they should consider reaching out to Fetty Wap who also pulled a similar stunt, once again confirming that this is not something only one individual has done before.

The Chainsmokers were quick to clap back though taking to twitter to drop this blow on Cheat Codes complaints.

What So Not recently took some time out of his hectic touring schedule to answer questions from fans on his very first Reddit Ask Me Anything. He touched on details surrounding the conception of his latest full-length album Not All the Beautiful Things, his corresponding world tour, and some pretty personal topics—including the notorious rumored WSN/Flume drama. Here’s a compilation of What So Not’s ten most interesting responses.

1. Not All the Beautiful Things Was An Experimental Project

Reddit: Are you surprised at all by how well NATBT was received? What were your expectations for it upon release?

What So Not: YES. I was very surprised. This was an art project for me, without consideration of ‘what’s working right now.’ I stopped listening to all current music or following charts. I went back to records by Fugees, Led Zeppelin, The Prodigy, The Chemical Brothers, Pink Floyd etc & attempted to emulate (to some degree) what acts of this caliber achieved with their work. I wanted to make an ALBUM that focused on narrative, tone, mood & dynamic flow.

2. What So Not Won’t Confirm Nor Deny the Alleged Flume Drama

R: What is your relationship like with Harley after you went your separate ways? Will you ever tour/collab again?

WSN: If you got a reunion tour wouldn’t it just be me up there solo on CDJ 1000s? lol.

3. George Maple Didn’t “Yoko Ono” the What So Not Project

R: Do you think George Maple is the Yoko Ono of futurebass?

WSN: No, not at all.

(Context: There are rumors that suggest a love triangle between Harley Stretan, Emoh, and George Maple is why Harley (Flume) left the WSN project.)

4. We’re Not Getting That Stranger Things Remix Anytime Soon

R: Are you not able to release the Stranger Things remix ever?

WSN: The person we were chatting to isn’t at the company anymore & I got really preoccupied finishing the album, music videos, stage design, live show & evvvverything else ha 😀 It’s how things go when you do a bootleg ha 🙂 It’s a fun thing for the show for now!

Joel Zimmerman aka Deadmau5 is at it again on his Twitter feed. The artist is known for his lavish lifestyle, huge cube production, music that is progressive-tech like, and his trolling on Twitter.  After Zimmerman performed at Finland’s WeekendFestival, there was some backlash to the visual effects.

One of the festival’s promoters claimed that Zimmerman did not use lasers because he had a bad day, or was feeling off. However, those who know Deadmau5 know lasers are just simply not a part of his performances.

The festival promoters had nothing else to say regarding this Twitter bashing, from the looks of it, Deadmau5 will not perform here in the future.

As far as influential duos of musicians go, Jack Ü is probably one of the most well known there is in the electronic music industry. With hits like “Where Are Ü Now”, “To Ü”, “Take Ü There” and more, this collaboration project between EDM powerhouses Skrillex and Diplo has been one of the most successful to date.

To the dismay of some, and joy of others, they announced that they would stop touring together back in August of 2016. At the time though, there was still a possibility that they may still continue to produce together. Due to a recently surfaced conversation that included the rising bass artist, Slushii, however, it seems that the duo may actually have a beef with each other that could spell the end of Jack Ü. While Slushii didn’t reveal exactly what their problem with each other is, it has been confirmed that both artists have unfollowed each other on social media, and that the Jack Ü artist page has been removed from the 2016/2017 OWSLA artist page.

This more than likely means that we can expect no further releases from Skrillex and Diplo in the near future, however, we can all hope that the two resolve their differences at some point. Check out the thread below, and feel free to comment any theories you may have!

He called out the mysterious producer’s remix style as overly simplistic to put it nicely. In keeping with Marshmello’s upbeat persona and no drama style, the anonymous producer kept his response humorous and classy. Other targets should take note, as this response seemed to diffuse the situation efficiently.

2015: The Year of the Twitter War. It seems like we are reporting about a new online feud every single day and a majority of the time, it involves our good pal Joel Zimmerman. Less than 48 hours ago, he gave former One Direction member Zayn Malik a piece of his mind after the pop star targeted Calvin Harris. This might be one of the more surprising battles though, as it essentially came out of nowhere and was sparked by his opponent.

Dan Bilzerian is one of the more infamous figures in the electronic music community. The last time we wrote about him, it was for purchasing a $650,000 VIP package for New York’s Electric Zoo. Now, he has found his way back into the news after claiming that he slept with deadmau5‘ girlfriend:
