ULTRA Taiwan first launched in 2018 and has grown steadily into one of the more prominent festival stops on the Asian electronic music circuit. The 2026 edition follows the festival’s best-ever placement in DJ Mag’s Top 100 Festivals rankings, where it came in at #66 worldwide in 2025.

Past editions have featured sets from artists including Martin Garrix, alongside a consistent draw of acts spanning both the mainstage and RESISTANCE programming. The festival has built a following not just in Taiwan but across the broader Asia-Pacific region.

What to Expect

ULTRA Taiwan carries the same production framework as other ULTRA Worldwide events — large-scale stage design, high-spec audio and visual setups, and a lineup structure that balances commercial electronic with the deeper, underground sounds that RESISTANCE has become known for globally.

Dajia Riverside Park, a sprawling open-air space along the Keelung River in Taipei, has hosted the festival in previous years and provides the room needed for the event’s full production footprint. A Brief About ASOT

Originally launched in 2001, A State of Trance began as a weekly radio show hosted by DJ Armin van Buuren. The broadcast showcases trance, progressive trance, and related electronic music, and at its peak reaches listeners across more than 80 countries worldwide.

Tom Marshall, better known as Marsh, is one of those artists who has taken the world by storm these past years. With tracks like ‘Healer‘, his ‘Shivers‘ remix, and ‘Lost In You‘ all making headlines, he now unveils his third album Endless, making it clear he won’t be hitting the breaks anytime soon.

One could argue Tom’s sound has become truly iconic over the years, to the point of it being instantly recognisable when you hear it: it’s a mixture of a Deep House bass, soft plucks, sweet arpegios, sexy percussion, open atmospheres, and, funnily enough, lots of toms.

A Little Insight on Marsh’s Career

His first releases date back from around 2012 on Silk Music, while he remixed Above & Beyond‘s vocal hit ‘Counting Down The Days’ featuring Gemma Hayes in 2016. The next year, he released his debut album Life On The Shore, and the year after, he made it to Anjunadeep as part of the Explorations 07 compilation with ‘Black Mountain‘. From then on, his sound has only got more and more refined with each release.

As part of the Anjunafamily, he’s scored a handful of goals: his track ‘Eu Phoria‘ was featured in Above & Beyond’s ABGT350 Deep Mix, then ‘Come Together‘ with Nox Vahn came to be, bringing Alan Watts‘ renowned voice over to the Deep House world, and then he landed a beautiful progressive remix for Armin van Buuren and Susana‘s iconic trance classic ‘Shivers’. Then came Lailonie, his second artist album, then a remix for the timeless Solarstone’s ‘Solarcoaster‘, then ‘Little Darling‘… I think the point is clear. He’s given it the beans ever since.

Today, Marsh’s third album sees the light of day. Its name is Endless and, allow me to break character for a second here, it’s GOOD. It’s really good.

The Endless Journey

You can tell when an album is just a collection of songs put together, or when it is crafted and thought of as a story, each song representing a chapter of said story. Marsh’s LP is an example of the latter. Across 11 songs, Endless tells a tale of the calm, the euphoric, the thoughtful, and more, with each song evoking a unique feeling, and together painting a rollercoaster of energy, going up and down twice along the 49 minutes that it lasts. The album is arranged in such a way that the contrasts help depict the story, with the more club-oriented records put to shine by the calmer break tracks in between them. Ladies and gentlemen, Endless really is a journey.

From the beautiful piano in ‘Pneuma‘, and the delicate elements reigning over ‘Hymn‘ and ‘Sleep‘ featuring Jodie Knight, to the housier, club-welcome ‘Reminiscent‘ and ‘Touch The Sky‘ alongside Simon Doty, to the absolute hard hitter ‘Fall To Pieces‘ with vocals from Leo Wood, you’ll have a hard time getting bored with this one. Endless truly shows what Tom is capable of, including all of his signature sounds and mixing them together in really interesting ways. The more you listen, the more details you’ll encounter. If you know where to look, you might find the album’s wine bouquet to be evocative of Marsh’s past works, such as favourites ‘Little Darling’, ‘Liberator‘, his unreleased ‘Played-A-Live‘ remix, and even a slight taste of Andy Moor’s ‘Fake Awake’.

It’s really hard to choose just one song, or even two, but I’ll go with ‘Fall To Pieces’ and ‘Endless’ as my top tracks of the album. Sensible advise: make room to dance for the first; grab some tissues and enjoy the second one eyes closed.

The forthcoming 2022 lineup announcement promises to offer a once again unique experience to festival-goers that extends across the dance music spectrum. This Ultra Japan comeback marks a comeback for one of the country’s major electronic music festivals. No names have been announced this far for this 2022 edition but 2019 headliners included world-class names like Afrojack, DJ Snake, Galantis, and Pendulum.

Hopefully, this new cancellation does not spell doom for other EDC events. EDC Las Vegas was recently rescheduled to take place this October while EDC Orlando is expected to take place in November. Recently, Netherlands-based Spinnin’ Records announced they are getting in on the action by expanding their label to a wider Asian music market. As of Friday, November 29, 2019, Spinnin’ Record Asia will officially open its doors.

The successful label is partnering with parent company Warner Music Group. According to Simon Robson, President of Warner Music Asia, “this will be a very powerful combination at the service of artists.” Furthermore, he shared with Billboard Dance that “[they] want to match Spinnin’s renowned A&R capability in this space with Warner Music Asia’s marketing expertise and local knowledge.”

With the ultimate focus on artists of Asian heritage from around the globe, developing and discovering new talent in the designated area, we’re ready to bet that the new imprint will rise to success. Furthermore, the fact that the EDM scene is quickly growing across the continent will also assist in the future accomplishments of the label.

Its rapidly approaching inauguration brings a highly anticipated new single, marking the first release on the new label. American DJ duo BEAUZ, who have Indonesian and Taiwanese heritage, have created ‘Feel The Light‘. If the track is anywhere near as well-prepared as the new imprint, we’re in for a serious treat! Djakarta Warehouse Project Phase 1 is now online. This festival is one of the largest annual dance music festivals in Asia. Last year was its 10th Anniversary and they had a huge and successful edition.

Let’s get straight to the point and review the first confirmations for this amazing event. The first four headliners are Calvin Harris, Martin Garrix, Skrillex and Zedd.

Indonesia is place of beauty, crystal waters, peace, and great music. Is there any better plan for this December? I do not think so. This new edition of the biggest dance music festival in Southeast Asia will be a three-day event. This event will happen from the 13th to the 15th of December in Jakarta’s International Expo. This guarantees an amazing weekend from this first phase 1 lineup.

This 11th edition of the festival has released more than the first 4 headliners. In this phase 1, they have also confirmed the presence of Elrow Special Stage and many other artists.

These world-famous artists include Oliver Heldens, Jonas Blue, Martin Solveig, Yellow Claw, Dash Berlin, R3hab and the controversial Salvatore Ganacci

Seven people died and five people are in comas due to suspected drug overdoses after the music festival Vietnam Electronic Weekend (VEW), occurred this past Sunday in Hanoi, Vietnam.

Thousands attended the event, which was dubbed the largest electronic music event ever held in Vietnam. It took place in Hanoi’s West Lake Water Park, an area known for its nightlife. This was the third year of the music festival, and it was headlined by big names such as Ben Nicky, Yellowclaw, and Headhunterz.

All the victims, aged between 18 and 29, tested positive for substances in their bloodstreams which include methamphetamine, amphetamine, ecstasy, and marijuana. Police also found balloons containing nitrous oxide, commonly known as “laughing gas,” and pills of unidentified substances at the scene of the festival.

Following the incident, Mr. Tô Văn Động, the Director of the Department of Culture and Sports in Hanoi, issued a statement that the local government will be withdrawing all existing licenses for music festivals and will not be issuing any new licenses until further notice.

The promoters of VEW 2018, Connected Agency, released a statement on Facebook, expressing their condolences while also stating that they had followed all necessary procedures to organize the event before the tragedies occurred.

He also said if it does happen it will be in Sattahip which is an area perfect for a music festival. This rumor has popped up before, but it has been denied by Tomorrowland representatives. This move would be another step forward in the brands movement to be worldwide and have events all over the globe. The overall feeling is good again for Tomorrowland to expand after rumors pointed to a return for both TomorrowWorld and Tomorrowland Brazil.
