In anticipation of her upcoming sophomore album, Alison Wonderland gave fans a sneak peak into her mind on the popular site Reddit.

An AMA, short for Ask Me Anything, is a discussion thread on the popular site where celebrities and others let the Reddit community at large. Alison took to the popular /r/trap subreddit yesterday to let fans, well, ask her her anything.

I am Alison Wonderland and I make music, I think too much, I don’t believe in pants. AMA! from r/trap

Alison, born Alex Scholler, answered questions ranging from her musical process, to working with rappers like Chief Keef and Trippie Redd, to her dog Molly. Despite being shot to dance music superstardom in the past few years, Scholler is still as down-to-earth as ever.

Scholler has been hyping up her new album, entitled Awake, for quite some time now with the steady release of several singles, as well as remixes by other artists. Her catchy, yet emotional song ‘Church’ just received the remix treatment by several producers, including Naderi and Hex Cougar.

Needless to say, with Alison being so personally involved in the process of promoting her album, we know she’s proud of the work she’s done and we can’t wait to hear it.

Awake will be released this Friday, April 6. Make sure to pre-save the album on Spotify here!

Can’t believe it’s finally here… the first single off my album, In The Zone featuring the LEGENDARY @example , This Friday 3/23. NO ONE is ready for this record 🔥🔥 LINK IN BIO

Example first teased the collaboration in an Instagram post three months ago. Since then, fans have eagerly been awaiting the final result.

Made a banger with @jauzofficial yesterday. Took him to the local cornershop. Saw some crisps. Learnt a valuable lesson too from him: “Elliot, you cannot start a song with the word MEANWHILE” 🤣🤣🤣🤣 ( 📸 by @thejoelarkin )

We’re not quite sure what this collaboration will sound like just yet, but according to Example, it’s a “banger” so our excitement is high.

Thankfully we won’t have to wait much longer! ‘In The Zone’ by Jauz and Example will be out this Friday, March 23. You can pre-save the track here.

RL Grime – I Wanna Know (feat. Daya)

Earlier this week, trap legend RL Grime announced his new album entitled NOVA is done and new music was finally coming. Today he released the new track ‘I Wanna Know‘ featuring pop artist Daya.

RL Grime has been notably moving in a lighter direction with his more recent releases like ‘Reims’ and ‘Stay For It.’ His last release ‘Era’ is a trap banger but he went the opposite direction for ‘I Wanna Know,’ as it’s just a well-done pop song.

The track is clearly RL Grime flexing his production skills, with a catchy melody and a drop full of guitar riffs. Twinkling synths fill the hook, while the build-up still features his signature 808s. Daya’s powerful vocals elevate this song to pop perfection. His experimentation with various instrumentation makes ‘I Wanna Know’ a certified crossover hit.

There is still no word on a release date for NOVA but we’re eager to hear what he else has in store us. Listen to ‘I Wanna Know’ below!

Boombox Cartel – ‘Moon Love’ (feat. Nessly)

Hot off their latest release ‘Whisper,’ Mexican trap duo Boombox Cartel are turning it up several notches with their new single ‘Moon Love’ featuring Nessly.

The track is an “intergalactic journey through the trap galaxy” in their own words. What starts as a smooth, melodic hip-hop beat featuring Nessly’s vocals quickly turns into an earth-shattering drop. The synths are fast-paced and commanding, with an energetic beat behind them.

The track was first played out as an unreleased ID last year as a mash-up with ‘Goosebumps’ by Travis Scott, leading fans to believe it was going to be a remix. However, as it turns out, the track is an original. Clearly Boombox Cartel still wanted to put a hip-hop spin on it, recruiting Atlanta-based rapper Nessly to provide topical lyrics related to interstellar love.

This unique and out-of-this-world hybrid trap is what put Boombox Cartel’s on the map and ‘Moon Love’ just shows how they’ve mastered that sound. With the track already being supported by several big names like RL Grime, we know you will be hearing ‘Moon Love’ in sets everywhere this year.

There is a lot more music where that came from. In addition to these two recent singles, Boombox Cartel will be releasing five more on Mad Decent in the upcoming months. Given that ‘Whisper’ is melodic, guitar-laden offering featuring soft female vocals by Nevve and ‘Moon Love’ is just the opposite, we’re excited to hear what kind of versatility we’ll hear with their next releases!

You can catch Boombox Cartel on part one of their Rogue tour with more dates to come, as well as many appearances at festivals this season as they take their ear-wrecking sound worldwide.

Deckstar Artist Management also announced they intend to separate from the artist in a statement below:

“In light of recent allegations that have come forth, we have decided to sever our relationship with Datsik at this time.  Although we lack concrete information to confirm or deny these allegations, the nature and volume of the accusations demand swift and decisive action.  We have always held ourselves and clients to the highest standards and believe that at this time it is in the best interest of our company and staff to move on. “

Circle Talent Agency released the below statement:

“In light of recent allegations, Circle Talent Agency, effective immediately, has severed all ties with Datsik.”

With Datsik pulling out of all future festivals, some have already started filling his void. Electric Forest just announced that Jauz will now be playing both weekends.

Electric Forest is thrilled to welcome @Jauzofficial for both weekends of #EF2018 – just added to close out Second Weekend’s @Bassrush Curated Event on Tripolee.

Not one to leave us hanging, RL Grime also announced he will be releasing new music this Friday. It is unclear whether the entire album will be released or just another single to join the other singles released so far: ‘Reims,’ ‘Stay For It‘ featuring Miguel, and finally ‘Era.’

RL Grime embarked on a national NOVA tour before he even announced the album was done. Ever since the tour ended a few months ago, fans have been clamoring for more information on the album. He has been giving cryptic periodic updates until now.

hey

been quiet on here for a while but jus know everything is coming together

thank you for your patience ..i know it’ll be worth the wait

— RL GRIME (@RLGRIME) January 25, 2018

Expectations for NOVA are high, as it is the follow-up to his debut album VOID, which solidified his status as the prodigy of trap music. Almost four years later, we still hear ‘Core‘ dropped in sets frequently.

The announcement comes just over a week before RL Grime is set to play a headlining slot at Ultra Music Festival in Miami. We aren’t quite sure what is in store but it’s safe to say we sure are excited.
