Black Coffee Set to Headline MSG in October

The Grammy Award-winning DJ and producer Black Coffee – born Nkosinathi Innocent Maphumulo – announced that he will headline a concert at Madison Square Garden, in New York City. The South African continues to make history, as he will be the first DJ/producer from his country to headline the infamous arena. Maphumulo announced the incredible news on his socials last Friday, as you can see from the post below.

The show will take place on Saturday, October 7th, 2023. For now, we know that the set will feature the acclaimed DJ, a 12-piece orchestra, surprise guests, and a 360-degree stage setup. The MSG concert follows Black Coffee’s three sold-out shows at The Brooklyn Mirage last fall. It is a co-production of Avant Gardner and The Bowery Presents, marking their biggest co-production to date. Obviously, the man himself had difficulties expressing how proud he was of the achievement.

“Today’s announcement is one of those that just becomes difficult to put into words,” Black Coffee said. “As a performer sharing a stage that has hosted some of the greatest artists from all different genres and backgrounds just makes it all so real! I’m completely honored to make my Madison Square Garden debut in 2023!”

Black Coffee won the Best Dance/Electronic Album at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards in 2022 with his album Subconsciously. The producer also worked on multiple songs featured on Drake’s surprise release Honestly, Nevermind.

Tickets for Black Coffee’s MSG event are available to American Express members on March 14. The artist’s top Spotify listeners can get them on March 16. Finally, the general public can access the sale on March 17. Please visit MSG’s official website for more info.
