Arty & Mat Zo – Rebound (Jason Ross Remix)

Almost 11 years after the release of a stunning collaboration between ARTY and Mat ZoRebound, Jason Ross decided to give it a fresher and deeper touch. It is one of the most imagined remixes by fans and one of the most anticipated IDS. Although it surely took many of us by surprise.

It seems like just a week ago Above & Beyond in celebration of ABGT450 acquainted the Anjunabeats Family with this version. People first speculated that the mix was done by another artist. But later they revealed that it was Jason Ross behind the remix. This remix meant his return to Anjunabeats. And he did it in such a way that many will be more than excited.

‘Rebound is an undisputed classic among trance lovers, specifically for the Anjuna family. This defined both the sound of Anjunabeats and what we would later known as big room trance, trance 2.0, or trouse, that is, the trance that reigned from that moment until 2019. The remix is also disruptive in terms of sounds and genres, incorporating elements of trance, progressive house and even some parts are claimed by the vast world of melodic dubstep. For the artist, Rebound is a very special track, and he expresses it this way:

” ‘Rebound’ is one of those songs that can transport me back in time, to the days when I was just becoming familiar with dance music and with Anjunabeats. If I remember correctly, this was one of those songs with the ‘trance 2.0’ label; it redefined the genre and our scene. To remix a song that means so much to me, personally, it was quite an honor and also a big responsibility. My goal was to maintain the magic that Arty and Mat Zo infused into it, while putting more of a modern approach to the sound so that this record could continue to be played in today’s clubs and festivals. It was one of the more challenging remixes I’ve done to date, but something I’m truly proud of”
