Imagine Briefs Officials on Moving Festival to TomorrowWorld Site

Imagine Music Festival founders Glenn and Madeleine Goodhand are once again talking about moving the event to a new home.

The Goodhands met recently with the Chattahoochee Hills City Council to discuss holding the show at Bouckaert’s Farm.

TomorrowWorld welcomed several thousand EDM fans to the same location between 2013 and 2015.

City Manager Robbie Rokovitz said Imagine’s founders introduced themselves to officials and gave an overview of the festival.

An estimated 35,000 people per day came through the gates of Atlanta Motor Speedway last September.

Despite these numbers though, Imagine organizers are looking to move from the Hampton, Georgia race track. The festival’s re-location would occur in 2021, Rokovitz told Music Unfiltered last year. This coincides with the expiration of Imagine’s current contract with AMS.

“The Imagine Music Festival has a three-year agreement with Atlanta Motor Speedway through 2021,” said race track spokesman Dustin Bixby.

This would be Imagine’s third move since its launch in 2014. Atlanta’s Historic Fourth Ward Park hosted the festival’s first two editions.

Still, the EDM event’s move is not a done deal.

“We will be requiring a contract to be approved by City Council after staff review of the permit application,” Rokovitz said. “The contract will spell out expectations, regulations, and the like to address police, fire, emergency management, traffic management, city code compliance, etc.”

Imagine returns to Atlanta Motor Speedway (potentially for the final time) this September. Tickets are already on sale.
