Pacha New York is wrapping up its first outdoor summer season with back-to-back blowouts, starting with a Closing Weekend from October 16-18, followed by a Halloween Weekend run from October 29-31. Both stretches lean heavily on the kind of heavyweight house and techno booking that’s defined the venue’s debut season in Brooklyn.

The Closing Weekend kicks off Friday, October 16 with Marco Carola’s Music On imprint landing in New York for the first time. Carola will be joined by Franky Rizardo, who brings his usual tight, groove-driven approach, and Mason Collective, a pairing known for raw, peak-time sets. Music On has built a reputation across Ibiza and beyond as one of the more consistent brands in the tech-house and techno space, so its New York debut carries some weight for the local scene.

Saturday, October 17 belongs to Black Coffee, who closes out his residency run at Pacha with the deep, immersive sound that’s made him one of the most in-demand names in house music over the past decade. The South African producer has spent the year touring behind his signature blend of Afro-tinged house and melodic depth, and this New York date caps off that series on a high note.

The outdoor season’s official sendoff lands Sunday, October 18, with Marco Carola returning alongside PAWSA to close out what’s been Pacha New York’s first Open Air run. It’s a fitting bookend — Carola opening and closing the weekend that marks the end of the venue’s debut outdoor chapter.

Things don’t slow down much before Halloween. The final outdoor weekend of the season opens Thursday, October 29 with Vintage Culture bringing his ‘Affairs’ concept to Brooklyn, following a sold-out debut edition and a standout residency run in Ibiza this past summer.

Friday, October 30 brings Grammy winner Kaytranada to the Pacha stage, with a set pulling from his genre-blurring catalog of house, funk, R&B and hip-hop — including cuts off his acclaimed album Timeless. Few producers move as fluidly between dancefloor and radio as Kaytranada does, and his New York shows tend to draw a crowd well beyond the usual house music crowd.

Closing out the season on Halloween night itself, Saturday, October 31, is German producer Purple Disco Machine, who brings his disco-house sound and deep catalog of global hits to Brooklyn fresh off a 13-night residency at Pacha Ibiza. It’s a high-energy way to shut the lights on Pacha New York’s first outdoor season.

Tickets for both weekends, along with other upcoming shows at Pacha New York and Brooklyn Pacha, are available now through the venue’s official site. The club also has a run of dates leading into these weekends, including Jamie Jones on October 9 and 50 Cent on October 10, continuing a busy fall calendar for the Brooklyn venue’s first year in operation.

Beatport rolled out a new standalone genre page called Indie Tech on October 1, carving out a dedicated home for the heavier, club-focused sound that had been growing inside Indie Dance over the past few years. The new category comes with its own genre page, a Top 100 chart, and a dedicated feature space for artists and labels working in the style.

The sound itself leans on punchy drums, prominent basslines, and bold synth hooks, pulling in influences from Tech House, Melodic House & Techno, Bass House, and Mainstage. Think driving grooves and seismic builds built for peak-time sets rather than the warm-up hour.

Beatport says the move followed direct outreach to artists and labels across Indie Dance, Indie Tech, and the broader electronic community, who pushed for the sound to get its own category rather than stay folded into Indie Dance. Those conversations also fed into Beatportal’s feature Left to Indie: Reclaiming the Spirit of Indie Dance, which traced Indie Dance’s roots back to post-punk, disco, and leftfield club music — the experimental instinct that defined the genre long before it picked up a more polished, peak-time cousin.

That distinction is really the whole point of the split. As the heavier, more produced sound kept gaining ground under the Indie Dance banner, the line between the two started to blur. Spinning Indie Tech off into its own category lets Indie Dance stay tied to its original lineage while giving the club-focused offshoot room to build its own identity.

“We don’t always get everything right, and when we don’t, it’s important that we listen, learn and do right by the communities we serve,” said Raph Pujol, Beatport’s VP of Global Curation. “Indie Dance has built a strong identity and community over the years, and as new sounds began to emerge and evolve within the genre, we felt a responsibility to protect that identity while still embracing where the music is heading. Creating a new space allows both to thrive on their own terms — giving the Indie Dance community the clarity it deserves, while giving this new Indie Tech movement the room to grow and establish an identity of its own.“

Beyond the branding, the new category gives artists and labels working in this space a dedicated spot to capitalize on momentum they’ve already built. For DJs, it also means not having to dig through a catalog mixing two fairly different sounds under one tag.

Artists already associated with the Indie Tech sound include Adam Ten, Mita Gami, Vintage Culture, and Max Styler, with labels like Maccabi House, Stil vor Talent, Diynamic, and Higher Ground named as key players in the space.

“We feel that indie tech represents the evolution of the more club-focused side of indie dance, bringing together driving grooves, powerful basslines, and melodic energy designed for the peak of the dance floor,” said electronic duo HIGHLITE. “For us, having a dedicated category means giving this sound a clear identity and creating a space where artists and listeners can continue to push it forward.“

The Indie Tech genre page and Top 100 chart are live now on Beatport.

GORDO brought his TARAKA residency to Pacha Ibiza for a six-week run this summer, with the Grammy-nominated producer taking over the club’s Tuesday night slot from August 25 through September 29. The residency followed a one-off launch event at Pacha back in May and marked an expansion of GORDO’s underground label concept into a full late-summer season on the island.

GORDO, the Nicaraguan-American DJ and producer formerly known as Carnage, has spent the past few years rebuilding his sound and reputation around house and tech-house rather than the festival trap and bass material that made his name under the old alias. The rebrand has paid off — he landed a Grammy nomination for his production work on Diplo’s self-titled album, racked up streaming numbers with tracks like ‘Hombres y Mujeres’ and ‘Sideways’, and produced on Drake’s Honestly, Nevermind. That trajectory made the TARAKA residency one of the more closely watched bookings on Pacha’s 2026 calendar.

Each Tuesday brought a rotating cast of support alongside GORDO’s own extended sets. The season closed out on September 29 with Roger Sanchez joining GORDO alongside Gala and Abril Love, wrapping a lineup that also touched on names like Nicole Moudaber, Shimza and Patrick Topping across the six weeks. The spread of styles — from Moudaber’s techno-leaning sets to Vintage Culture’s more melodic house approach — gave the residency a different flavor week to week while keeping GORDO as the connective thread.

The booking also continued Pacha’s push since its 2025 renovation, which added a reworked sound system built around a d&b audiotechnik setup running on a Dante digital network, along with a VIP Garden and suspended VIP+ mezzanine overlooking the DJ booth. The club has leaned on its renovated space and sustainability credentials — it holds LEED Platinum certification and runs on renewable energy — as part of its pitch to headliners and the DJ Mag Top 100 Clubs list it appeared on again in 2026.

Pacha New York has added another name to its Halloween Weekend lineup. Vintage Culture will bring his curated Affairs event concept to the Brooklyn venue on Thursday, October 29, kicking off a three-night run that closes out the club’s Halloween programming.

The Brazilian DJ and producer arrives fresh off a sold-out debut and a standout residency in Ibiza, where the Affairs concept has become a fixture of his live show. Expect the same dancefloor-forward house sound that’s made him one of the more in-demand names on the festival and club circuit over the past few years.

Vintage Culture joins two previously announced shows to round out the weekend. Kaytranada takes over Pacha New York on October 30, followed by Purple Disco Machine closing things out on Halloween night itself, October 31.

The Halloween date marks something of a full-circle moment for Purple Disco Machine, whose disco-house sound has landed him on global charts with tracks like ‘Hypnotized’ — now past 275 million streams — and ‘Dopamine.’ The German producer just wrapped a 13-night residency at Pacha Ibiza in 2026, during which he released the single ‘Disco Cherry.’ He’ll bring that same catalog to Brooklyn for the holiday show.

Kaytranada, meanwhile, continues to be one of dance music’s more genre-agnostic forces. The Grammy winner for Best Dance/Electronic Album has spent over a decade blending house, funk, R&B, and hip-hop into a sound that rarely sits still. His 2024 album Timeless pulled in collaborators like Childish Gambino, Tinashe, Anderson .Paak, PinkPantheress, and Thundercat, and picked up Grammy nominations along with year-end recognition from Billboard and Rolling Stone.

Pacha has been running club nights for more than five decades, and its first New York season has leaned into that history while building a lineup that reflects Brooklyn’s own musical identity. Beyond Halloween Weekend, the venue has a packed September calendar that includes Kaskade and Wooli, GORDO, Justice, Black Coffee with Kaz James and DJ Kabila, and ZHU with Wax Motif and tobehonest.

Tickets and VIP reservations for Pacha New York’s Halloween Weekend shows, along with the rest of the 2026 season, are available now at pacha-nyc.com.

Lukas Ruiz, better known as the Brazilian DJ/producer Vintage Culture, announced via social media that he is taking a break from touring. Vintage Culture uploaded a short statement on Instagram Story (shown below) that he decided to not perform at Mykonos and at Burning Man this year. He is also scheduled to perform at ARC Music Festival on September 7, which we assume is also being skipped. He stated that he is “taking this week to rest and recover”, especially since he had been touring 25 shows across three continents in the span of a month. Having a travel-packed schedule where one performs in three continents within a month, definitely can impact physically and mentally.

As of this moment, Vintage Culture has not announced when he will return from his break and where he will perform next after he concludes his break from touring. The artist also had a busy 2026 when it comes to unveiling stellar releases, most notably the recent EP, SELEKTA, that he produced with American DJ/producer Kevin Brauer and his latest single, ‘Think Too Much.’ Vintage Culture dropped those releases on his Affairs record label, which he founded last year. As of right now, what matters is that Vintage Culture gets the much-needed break that he deserves and whenever he makes a return, it will be a stellar one.

Featuring ‘SELEKTA’ with Hackney-born MC Tuggawar alongside second track ‘Yoga’ the project brings reggae and dancehall influences into Vintage Culture and Brauer’s house-driven production.

Turn Up the Bass

The title track immediately establishes the EP’s direction, with Tuggawar delivering its recurring command: “Tell the SELEKTA, turn up the bass.”

Rather than abandoning the house sound Vintage Culture is known for, ‘SELEKTA’ adds a looser reggae-inspired swing, heavy bass and dancehall vocal energy. Tuggawar’s vocals become part of the rhythm itself, moving between commands, phrases and longer lines throughout the track.

The result lands somewhere between house, dancehall and sound-system culture, with enough weight for the club while keeping things playful.

‘Yoga’ continues that approach, pairing reggae and dancehall-influenced elements with a driving electronic foundation. Together, the two tracks feel intentionally connected rather than like two completely different sides of the collaboration.

Vintage Culture Links With Kevin Brauer and Tuggawar

SELEKTA also brings together three artists with very different musical backgrounds.

Kevin Brauer is perhaps best known for his work as Sevenn, the project behind tracks including ‘BOOM’ with Tiësto and ‘The Wall’ with Alok. His releases under his own name put greater emphasis on detailed club production, rhythm and tension, while Sevenn continues as a separate project.

Tuggawar, meanwhile, was born and raised in Hackney, England, before spending several formative years in Jamaica during the early 2000s. His music has moved between dancehall, hip-hop and drum & bass, influences that come through clearly on the title track.

For Vintage Culture, SELEKTA arrives during another packed year. Following the release of his debut album Promised Land in 2024 and the launch of Affairs in 2025, the Brazilian artist has continued expanding both his own catalog and the creative platform surrounding it.

And after seeing Vintage Culture continue to move between massive festival stages and club-focused releases, it’s always interesting to hear him explore another side of his sound. This time, a little reggae and dancehall flavor fits right in.

Damian Lazarus has revealed the complete lineup for the 2027 edition of Day Zero Tulum, the annual jungle gathering that returns to the Yucatan Peninsula for its next chapter titled Begin Again. The one-day festival takes over its mystical grounds outside Tulum, running from dusk straight through to sunrise, with a bill that spans house, techno, and everything adjacent.

The 2027 edition brings back the tradition of pulling artists from wildly different corners of the electronic spectrum into one jungle setting. Headlining names include Keinemusik’s &ME, Brazilian export Vintage Culture, longtime dance music figure Tiga, New York house veteran Victor Calderone, Maccabi House co-founder Mita Gami, Mellow Circus founder Brunello, and piano house favorite LP Giobbi.

Rounding out the rest of Damian’s picks are French house tastemaker Chloe Caillet, Apollonia co-founder Dan Ghenacia, UK selector Jane Fitz, live instrumentalist Satori, South African house artist Culoe De Song, German producer Robag Wruhme, Berlin regular Mira, Swiss-French artist Deer Jade, and Romanian minimal trio RPR Soundsystem — Rhadoo, Petre Inspirescu, and Raresh performing together. The bill also makes room for newer names like London’s Hard Antoine, Tel Aviv’s Rafael, Tulum-based artist LUM, and rising producer Mary Jane.

For context, Day Zero first launched in 2012, timed to the completion of the Mayan calendar, and has built its identity around blending Mayan ceremony with forward-thinking music and production. What started as a single gathering in Tulum has since grown into a broader platform, with Day Zero editions popping up in Brazil and Bali throughout 2026 as the brand looks for new destinations that fit its ethos.

El Teatro Keeps the Focus on Mexican Talent

Deep in the jungle, the El Teatro stage continues its role as a dedicated platform for Mexico’s underground scene — a distinction Day Zero holds as the first international festival in the country to give an entire stage over exclusively to homegrown talent. For 2027, that stage features Chihuahua electronic-funk act Midnight Generation, Mexican house prodigy KinAhau, Tijuana duo Soul of Hex, and Crosstown Rebels-signed live supergroup Secret Echoes, made up of Metrika, Estefani Brolo, and Balcazar.

Also on El Teatro’s bill: Mexican producer Bad Wolf, Mexico City artist Antaares, Tulum-based selector Jawar, live act Johnny Chief, and underground DJ Katana. Together, the stage’s lineup traces the range of what’s happening in Mexican electronic music right now, from techno to funk-inflected live sets.

Day Zero’s footprint in Tulum goes beyond the dancefloor, too. Through its Crosstown Consciousness initiative, the festival has funded solar-powered street lighting in the nearby Dos Ojos area, supported turtle conservation along the coastline, organized beach cleanups, and helped rebuild local schools using blocks made from sargassum seaweed. Since 2022, the festival has also partnered with Mexican company PETGAS to convert plastic waste generated onsite into biodegradable fuel that powers parts of the festival’s infrastructure, alongside a no single-use plastics policy across the grounds.

The festival also works directly with local Mayan leaders to weave traditional ceremony into the experience, a piece of the event that’s been part of Day Zero since its earliest years in Tulum.

Day Zero Tulum returns January 9th, 2027, with early access sign-up now open ahead of general ticket release later this month. For a festival that’s spent over a decade building its reputation on atmosphere as much as lineup, this one’s worth keeping on the radar as more details roll out.

Vintage Culture returns with ‘Think Too Much,’ a melodic house release that explores emotional vulnerability while continuing the Brazilian producer’s recent creative momentum.

Released through AFFAIRS, the track features collaborators Rhys from the Sticks and Nariman as part of the new Think Too Much EP. Rather than leaning into peak-time festival energy, the record places greater emphasis on melody, atmosphere, and songwriting.

Vintage Culture Continues a Busy 2026

The release follows one of Vintage Culture’s busiest years in recent memory. Since the beginning of 2026, he has delivered ‘I Need It’, ‘Freaky 1’, ‘Hands Up’, ‘Together We Are Free’, and most recently ‘Toxic’, continuing to expand the sound he introduced on his debut album Promised Land.

While each release has explored a different corner of melodic house, ‘Think Too Much’ slows the pace and focuses on emotion. The vocal performance from Rhys from the Sticks complements the production, while Nariman’s contribution helps create a record that balances club-ready grooves with a more introspective atmosphere.

Vintage Culture has spent the past several years establishing himself as one of Brazil’s biggest electronic music exports. His combination of melodic songwriting and underground house influences has earned him performances at Tomorrowland, Coachella, Burning Man, and a long-running residency at Hï Ibiza. Today, he reaches more than six million monthly listeners on Spotify while continuing to tour internationally.

Rather than relying on oversized drops, ‘Think Too Much’ allows the groove and vocal to carry the record forward. The restrained approach gives the track a timeless feel and reinforces Vintage Culture’s ability to move comfortably between underground club records and more melodic, vocal-driven productions.

Listen to Vintage Culture, Rhys from the Sticks & Nariman – ‘Think Too Much’ below.

If you’ve been following Vintage Culture lately, you already know his work ethic is absolutely insane, and his ability to consistently churn out massive club records is unmatched. His latest release, ‘Toxic‘ sees him linking back up with the incredibly talented DEPARTAMENTO, and it is a straight-up moody heater designed for the peak hours of the night.

The two producers previously crushed it on their collaborative track “Copycat,” proving they have an undeniable synergy in the studio. With “Toxic,” however, they pivot into even darker, more hypnotic territory to deliver something that feels both sophisticated and raw.

How The Vibe Shifts

Right from the first beat, “Toxic” locks the listener into a thick, rolling bassline that doesn’t let up. The track carries that signature, relentless driving energy Vintage Culture has perfected over the years, making it an instant favorite for club DJs. What sets this release apart is the gritty, underground atmospheric edge that DEPARTMENTO brings to the table. It gives the entire production some serious teeth.

The vocal hook is beautifully minimal and haunting, looping effortlessly over a tense arrangement that builds and drops with surgical precision. Clocking in at just over three minutes, the record is lean, punchy, and completely tailor-made for those dark, sweaty, late-night club sets where the entire room is locked in and grooving together.

The Verdict

Vintage Culture is dominating the global festival circuit right now, but “Toxic” is a fantastic reminder of how effortlessly he still commands the intimate club scene. It’s addictive, heavy, and a must-add if you’re looking to inject some serious attitude into your house playlists.

The single reflects a natural fit between Vintage Culture and Eddie Thoneick. These are two producers with a shared instinct for music that works from festival stages to club floors. The track pairs melodic construction with forward drive. As a result, it creates a record that functions at peak time while carrying emotional weight that extends beyond the dancefloor. The idea embodied by ‘Together We Are Free’ is woven throughout the music. Kyozo’s vocal performance gives the collaboration its centre of gravity. It also ties together the track’s themes of freedom and connection.

The track was first performed at Cercle Festival outside of Paris. There, Kyozo joined Vintage Culture on stage for a live performance alongside the record’s debut. The moment stood out as one of the highlights of the event. Clearly, the debut of ‘Together We Are Free’ was eagerly anticipated. It also set the context for the release, which is out now on Cercle Records, the label operating alongside one of the most distinctive live platforms in electronic music.

“Cercle has a very special place in my heart. When Eddie and Kyozo showed me the song, Iinstantly connected with it, and could picture it being played during daytime at one of the sets’ ending tunes. I’m glad we found a proper home for it.”

The release also lands ahead of a significant summer for Vintage Culture, headlined by his‘Affairs’ residency at Pacha Ibiza–a run that positions him at the centre of the island’s 2026 season. This run also builds on the growing presence of his label and creative platform of the same name. Notably, ‘Together We Are Free’ adds to his impressive discography for the year.

Vintage Culture

In 2024, he released his debut album, Promised Land, featuring collaborations with The Temper Trap and Maverick Sabre. This came alongside a remix pack from Solomun, CamelPhat, and others. Beyond his release, Vintage Culture has built a global reputation through landmark residencies in Ibiza and Las Vegas. Furthermore, he has headline performances at major festivals, including Tomorrowland, EDC, and Burning Man. He also launched Vintage Is A Festival, which has sold out stadiums across Brazil.
