While the feature is currently in its beta phase with a curated selection of “thousands” of videos, Spotify has emphasized that this is only the beginning. The platform is working closely with major labels and distributors to rapidly scale the catalog, with plans to significantly increase availability over the coming months as they transition out of the beta period.

How to use the new Spotify Videos Mode

For Premium subscribers, accessing this new feature is seamless across iOS, Android, desktop, and TV applications. When playing a supported track, a new “Switch to Video” toggle appears directly above the song title on the “Now Playing” screen. Upon tapping it, the official music video begins playing instantly, perfectly synced to the exact second of the song you were already listening to. If you need to return to background listening, a quick tap of the “Switch to Audio” button hides the video and reverts the interface back to the standard album art or Canvas loop without missing a beat.

In addition to today’s expansion to the U.S. and Canada, Spotify is bringing music videos to Antigua and Barbuda, the Bahamas, Barbados, Dominica, Ghana, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, Uganda, and Venezuela.

This strategy effectively keeps users on the platform rather than losing them to external video sites, ensuring that 70% of total revenue allocated to rights holders is driven by both high-engagement visuals and auditory streams.

At the same time, it follows a major strategic milestone: a new licensing agreement with the National Music Publishers’ Association (NMPA). Under this expanded partnership, Spotify launched a dedicated opt-in portal allowing NMPA members to enter direct license agreements for audiovisual (AV) rights. During night one, Levity brought Brooklyn to a complete standstill last night at the Paramount, and it’s hard to imagine the borough’s bass scene looking the same afterward. From the second the lights dropped, the Chicago trio seized total control. Perched high atop their now-iconic spaceship stage, they wasted no time reminding everyone why they’re the fastest-rising name in the genre. The opening intro was extremely unique taking the crowd on a journey as they start up their spaceship.

The visual game was next-level. That massive, chameleon-skinned ship shifted colors throughout the show—deep purples bleeding into neon greens, fiery oranges, electric blues—always locked to whatever mood the track demanded. Lasers carved the historic Paramount ceiling into a thousand pieces, with dozens of beams turning the room into a living prism. Every heavy hitter got its own burst of synchronized lasers and the crowd was soaking it all up.

They hit the crowd early with their vicious flip of Britney Spears’ ‘Toxic’, a crowd favorite ‘Crystallized (Subtronics Remix)’ then slid into a ‘Sweet Caroline’ remix that had phones in the air and voices screaming every word. But the real carnage came from the unreleased arsenal—ID after ID, some clearly cooked up with Tape B, others screaming GRiZ. And of course, their showcased their original tracks in which the crowd seemed like they knew every drop and bass synth. The 90 minute show was incredible from start to finish and we can’t wait for what they’re cooking in 2026.

Last month, the U.S. Navy banned TikTok; any employee who did not uninstall the application would not be able to use the Navy Intranet. As you can imagine, the news of the ban shocked its users as they would not be able to communicate via the Intranet with their loved ones, or utilize its immediate resources.

Recently, Lt. Col Robin L. Ochoa, an Army spokesperson, confirmed via a security bulletin that U.S. Army members will also be restricted from using the app. TikTok presents too many security threats and the ban applies to all government-owned phones. The bulletin stated that all service members “uninstall TikTok to circumvent any exposure of personal information.” Ongoing raised concerns about censorship issues surrounding the Hong Kong freedom protests are equally responsible.

Tom Cotton (AR-R) and Senators Chuck Schumer (NY-D) have come forth to urge the U.S. intelligence community to intervene. They’ve expressed their fears that the app “might be a vehicle to spy on U.S. citizens through location data.” With over 750 million downloads, approximately 30% in meteoric rise compared to last year, they’re taking all necessary precautions. Facebook is looking to continue to build its empire and expand its vast reach within the online world by getting its hands on the music/video streaming industry. Though YouTube has been the main source online for music and videos for years as numerous users use it to upload their own materials, they may have a new competitor on their hands, as Facebook may be working on deals that could “govern user-generated videos that include songs.”

The social media platform does not have any current deals with record labels or publishers for revenue streamed on their platform, though the site already has artists post their own material to their own pages. Ultimately this actually means that the artists whose music is going viral are actually losing revenue, so there’s hopes that with this movement, that will change.

In a step towards this direction, Facebook has hired Tamara Hrivnak to lead global music strategy. She is the former VP of digital strategy & business affairs at Warner/Chapell, the publishing company of Warner Music Group.  Hrivnak will be working closely with Facebook, as connecting the world of music and social media in a legal deal will be not easy.

We’ll be keeping an eye on what comes next for Facebook on this front.

Zedd‘s ‘True Colors’ tour has finally come to end and to celebrate, the superstar gave fans in Saint Paul, Minnesota a night to remember. The tour has become known for its insane production and Zedd’s tendency to bring out super special guests. Over the course of two months, he’s treated fans by calling upon The Chainsmokers, Flosstradamus, Steve Angello, Benny Benassi, Big Gigantic and many more. There’s no denying that those are some pretty big names, which is why it’s insanely impressive that Zedd found a way to top it. For his final show, the “Clarity” producer brought out deadmau5 and Daft Punk. Before the night began, Zedd tweeted, “Omg tonight’s gonna be so epic”, but we don’t think fans could even begin to imagine how amazing their night would be.

The only problem with this incredible lineup is that it seems too good to be true. In fact, it is too good to be true. deadmau5 was busy playing at HARD Day of the Dead and we doubt that Daft Punk would come out of hiding for this one performance. Also, let’s not forget that last night was Halloween and that deadmau5 and Daft Punk are known for their iconic masks (people love to wear masks on Halloween). Regardless of whether or not those two legendary acts actually showed up, the event still looked like an unforgettable one. Check out some of the best videos from it below.

This past weekend, Alfa Future People took over Russia and it did so in style. First off, the festival had a killer lineup that featured the likes of deadmau5, DJ Snake, Knife Party, Jamie Jones, NERO, Steve Angello, Claude Vonstroke and many more. While the list of artists may have been memorable, it was the eye-popping main stage that truly stole the show.

According to its website, Alfa Future People, “is a festival of tomorrow, and tomorrow is all about innovations”. The event is known for hosting some of the world’s leading tech companies and they even give attendees a chance to test out their latest gadgets. With all this in mind, it’s only fitting that its main stage looks like it came from the year 2035. The DJs set up shop inside the mouth of the giant head while some out-of-this-world production helps accompany the awesome performances.
