Organizers say the new dates give them room to build out a bigger edition, one geared toward fans traveling in from across the UAE and beyond. That’s the official line, anyway — pushing a festival back four months typically means more time to lock down a stronger lineup and finish production builds that weren’t ready for the original window.

The move isn’t just about swapping a date on a calendar. According to organizers, the extra runway will let UNTOLD bring in an international lineup, new stage productions, and fresh experiences while expanding on the creative identity the brand has built across its other festivals, including Neversea and the original UNTOLD in Romania.

For three days, Dubai Parks™ and Resorts will again be reconfigured into festival grounds, with the 2027 edition promising a lineup spanning multiple genres along with new festival zones and entertainment concepts built specifically for the Dubai crowd.

Bogdan Buta, CEO and founder of UNTOLD Universe, framed the delay as part of the plan rather than a setback. “From the beginning, our ambition with UNTOLD Dubai has been to create much more than a festival,” Buta said. “We want every edition to feel extraordinary and to raise the standard of what a large-scale music and entertainment experience can be. Securing the next edition to March 2027 gives us the opportunity to build the strong world-class lineup, develop the epic show productions and create the spectacular experience our fans expect from UNTOLD, Dubai’s 1st Mega-Festival. We are incredibly excited about what we are preparing at Dubai Parks™ and Resorts and we look forward to welcoming people from around the world on March 19-21.“

Lineup details, ticketing tiers, and festival experiences are still to come, with organizers promising more information in the coming months.

What to Expect Based on the Debut Edition

UNTOLD’s first run in Dubai pulled in over 190,000 festivalgoers across six stages, with more than 100 artists on the bill. That edition’s lineup included YUNGBLUD, Swae Lee, J Balvin, Martin Garrix, Armin van Buuren, Nora Fatehi, MEDUZA, Alan Walker, Sugababes, and WizTheMc, giving a sense of the genre range UNTOLD is aiming for in a market that spans pop, Latin, and dance music fans alike.

The venue itself is part of the draw. Dubai Parks™ and Resorts is home to MOTIONGATE™ Dubai, Real Madrid World, LEGOLAND® Dubai Resort, The World of Riverland™, Neon Galaxy, T-Rex Glamping, and the Lapita hotel, giving attendees plenty to do beyond the stages if they’re making a trip of it.

Tickets for the March 19-21, 2027 edition are on sale now through UNTOLD.ae, as well as via the District by Zomato app and district.ae, the festival’s official ticketing partner.

The Mainstage on the closing night opened with Grasu XXL, one of Romania’s more established hip-hop names, before Flo Rida took over with a set built around his run of international chart hits. Alan Walker followed with his usual visual-heavy production, and MEDUZA³ LIVE — the live band concept from the Italian trio — brought a mix of electronic music and live instrumentation to the stage.

Romanian rock band Animal X played a nostalgia-driven set for the hometown crowd, while JO and LAZY ED made their UNTOLD debut on the IQOS stage, running through JO’s catalog along with their collaborative single ‘Mor după tine’. The night’s back half belonged to an Afrojack B2B R3HAB collaboration, a pairing of two established names in global EDM who traded off on the Mainstage for one of the more high-energy sets of the closing night.

Steve Aoki kept the momentum going with his typically chaotic live show, and Portuguese artist Padre Guilherme handled the official Mainstage close with a set centered on more uplifting, communal themes.

Over at the Galaxy stage, house veteran Jamie Jones anchored a night dedicated to underground sounds, followed by MRAK’s cinematic, hypnotic productions and a closing set from Sara Landry, one of techno’s more prominent younger names, who held the crowd through the festival’s final moments.

Four Days, Four Nights of Headliners

The broader 2026 run included a wide range of bookings outside the dance music core. Sting played one of the week’s more anticipated live sets, and The Chainsmokers marked ten years since ‘Closer’ with a Mainstage sing-along. Day two brought Zara Larsson, Lewis Capaldi, and a returning Martin Garrix, along with a surprise appearance from Loredana Groza during Lost Frequencies’ set for a remix of her track ‘Lele’. Galaxy hosted Joseph Capriati and Solomun that night, while the Alchemy stage ran a lineup that included Denzel Curry, bbno$, and Camo & Krooked. Andy C closed out Alchemy on the final night with a drum & bass-driven set.

Attention has already shifted to next year. UNTOLD 2027 – Star Edition is scheduled for August 5–8, and the first batch of 30,000 passes sold out within 24 hours of going on sale. Passes remain available at €109 plus taxes and fees.

Saturday’s Mainstage programme opened with Adrian Șaguna, followed by a nod to Romanian folk tradition courtesy of Junii Sibiului alongside Mariana Anghel and Ionuț Fulea. Damian Drăghici & Brothers kept things going with a set built around Balkan brass influences before the night shifted into its bigger pop and electronic moments.

Lewis Capaldi played his first-ever show in Romania, and by most accounts it was one of the night’s highlights. The Scottish singer-songwriter had the crowd singing along to ‘Before You Go’ and ‘Someone You Loved,’ songs that turned him into a global chart fixture in the years following his 2019 breakout. Spanish duo MËSTIZA followed with a set blending electronic production and flamenco guitar work, before Lost Frequencies took over with a melodic, high-energy run through his catalog.

One of the night’s more unexpected moments came when Romanian pop veteran Loredana Groza joined Lost Frequencies onstage for her first-ever UNTOLD appearance, performing a remix of her hit ‘Lele’ produced by the Belgian DJ. Martin Garrix closed out the Mainstage headline slots, returning to a festival where he’s become a recurring and well-liked presence, with Tujamo wrapping the night on the same stage.

Over at the Galaxy Stage, the focus stayed underground. Sets from Budai House Clique and Marwan Dua set up a run from Joseph Capriati and Solomun, both mainstays of the international techno and house circuit, before Mau P and Holy Priest closed things out. The Alchemy Stage leaned into hip-hop and urban music, with Romanian rapper Guess Who, a live orchestral hip-hop project from Deliric x Silent Strike x Muse Orchestra, and a first UNTOLD ONE stage appearance from American rapper Denzel Curry.

UNTOLD 2027 Dates and Early Pass Sale

UNTOLD has now locked in August 5–8, 2027 for its Star Edition, and the response to the early pass drop suggests the festival’s pull hasn’t slowed down — the first 20,000 passes were gone within minutes. UNTOLD has ranked among the top three festivals in the world for three consecutive years, per industry rankings the festival cites in its own materials.

Passes for 2027 are currently available at an early price of €99 plus taxes and fees, with the price set to rise to a final €249 plus taxes and fees. Those interested can find passes at the festival’s official ticketing link.

UNTOLD also used this year’s edition to launch One Billion For Good, a campaign aimed at amplifying acts of kindness and encouraging attendees and communities to turn goodwill into action.

The festival, held annually in the town of Boom, Belgium, draws around 400,000 visitors across two weekends. With more than a dozen stages and hundreds of artists on the bill each edition, the scale of the operation is hard to match. That combination of production ambition and consistent programming has clearly resonated with fans globally, who turned out in unprecedented numbers to vote this cycle.

Founders Michiel and Manu Beers responded to the news: “Being voted the world’s No. 1 festival for a sixth consecutive year is an incredible honour and something we deeply appreciate. This recognition belongs to the entire Tomorrowland family: our visitors, artists, partners, suppliers and the thousands of people who work passionately behind the scenes throughout the year. It motivates us to keep innovating, keep dreaming and continue creating magical experiences that bring people together from every corner of the world.“

DJ Mag’s Top 100 Festivals poll launched in 2019 with a DJ panel selecting winners. After a Covid hiatus, it reopened to public voting in 2022 — and vote counts have climbed every year since, mirroring the trajectory of the publication’s better-known Top 100 DJs ranking.

How the Rest of the Top 10 Shook Out

EDC Las Vegas jumps back to second place following its 30th anniversary edition in May, making it the highest-ranked North American festival this year. That pushes Ultra Music Festival down to fourth, with Romania’s UNTOLD holding steady in third.

The rest of the top 10 includes Creamfields (7th), Kappa FuturFestival (8th), Glastonbury (9th — currently on a fallow year), and Germany’s PAROOKAVILLE (10th). India’s Sunburn holds its position as the highest-ranked Asian festival in the top 10. Notably, Coachella drops out of the top 10 for the first time in the poll’s history, landing at No. 12.

Three festivals broke into the top 20 this year: Austria’s Electric Love (up to 11th), EDC Orlando (16th), and Greece’s PRIMER, which jumped 23 spots to land at 19th. Mysteryland returns to the top 20 for the first time since 2022, while Time Warp and Dekmantel hold at 14th and 17th respectively.

On the country breakdown, the US leads with 15 ranked festivals — up two on last year — with new entry III Points (Miami) and the return of Beyond Wonderland (SoCal) contributing to that count. The UK and Netherlands each claim nine spots, with hard techno event VERKNIPT Festival as the new Dutch entry. UK festival Houghton takes this year’s Highest Climber award, rising 43 places to land, fittingly, at No. 43. The event, organized by fabric resident Craig Richards, has been a fixture of British underground electronic music since 2017.

Germany and Thailand both sit at seven festivals each, rounding out the top five countries. Germany’s new entry is NATURE ONE, which celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2025. Thailand’s addition is WHITE PARTY BANGKOK — the first dedicated LGBTQ+ festival to appear in the poll — making Thailand the Asian country with the most ranked festivals, a title it also holds in DJ Mag’s Top 100 Clubs poll.

There are eight new entries in total this year. The Highest New Entry award goes to Indonesia’s Scream Or Dance, a Halloween-focused event landing at No. 71. The other newcomers include Ultra Argentina, GMO Sonic Storm in Japan, and The Magic Of Tomorrowland — the Chinese extension of the Belgian flagship, which made its debut in 2025.
