Mark Knight is digging back into the Toolroom vault, and this time he’s bringing Cristoph along for the ride. The pair have teamed up for a new version of ‘Yebisah,’ which just landed on Toolroom this past Friday, exactly a decade after the original track first dropped.

Circa 2016 and the Tech House era of those years, ‘Yebisah’ stood as an absolute landmark of the label, becoming one of Toolroom’s defining releases that year. As the founder of Toolroom, Mark Knight has plenty of records to choose from when it comes to catalog reworks, but the fact he singled this one out says something about its staying power.

The 2026 update keeps the chord work that made the original instantly recognizable, but everything around it has been rebuilt. Expect deeper grooves and a production style that leans into where tech house has moved over the past few years, with Cristoph’s fingerprints all over the low end and arrangement. The Scottish producer has built his own reputation on records that balance melodic hooks with dancefloor functionality, making him a logical partner for a track that always walked that same line.

What’s notable here is the restraint. Rather than stripping ‘Yebisah’ down for a full overhaul or chasing a trend, the rework respects what made the track work in the first place while giving it the low-end weight and mix clarity that modern club systems demand. It’s less a remix in the traditional sense and more a recalibration for 2026 dancefloors.

Reworks like this have become a recurring move for labels sitting on decade-plus histories, letting new audiences vibe with the same soul of record which have already graced many parties over the years. Bringing back a release this associated with the label’s mid-2010s run also lines up with Toolroom’s ongoing anniversary programming this year.

Listen to ‘Yebisah’ below.

Alaia & Gallo‘s ‘Lipstick‘ picks up a new lease on life courtesy of Toolroom mainstay Tony Romera, who delivers a remix of the tune, keeping core elements while adding his own, signature touch to it all. The tune is out now via the trailblazing Tech House & House imprint.

The original ‘Lipstick’ turned into one of the bigger club anthems of 2025, the kind of record that kept showing up in sets long after most tracks would have run their course. It picked up support from a wide swath of the house and tech house world, including Carl Cox, Nic Fanciulli, Bob Sinclar, James Hype, Roger Sanchez, Claptone, and Tchami, among others.

With the original already established as a dancefloor weapon, the bar was high for Tony to keep the record moving. But, what do you know, the Spanish producer has built a reputation on tough, groove-driven tech house, and his rework of ‘Lipstick’ fits these same DJs and sets, just like the most tailored glove.

Toolroom has spent years building a catalogue around exactly this kind of record — word-of-mouth club hits which get a second life through remixes from the label’s orbit. Pairing ‘Lipstick’ with Romera fits that pattern, giving DJs another version of a proven track to work into their sets heading into the back half of the year.

Mark, as always, is delivering some heated tunes for the dancefloor.

Toolroom boss Mark Knight has joined forces with Nick Hurr and Cutty Ranks for their latest dancefloor weapon ‘Bad Man‘, out May 15th across all platforms.

The new track sees the three acts borrowing from the past, and updating legendary House vocals now resting on a powerful, signature bed of percussion, bass, warmth, and short melodies. The result blends that vintage DNA with modern club energy, creating an infectious hook built specifically for packed dancefloors. Pretty much a Mark Knight seal of approval right there.

‘Bad Man’

True to Toolroom’s persona, ‘Bad Man’ centres around crisp percussion, groove, and rolling basslines, topped with vocal energy designed to ignite peak-time moments. The track showcases Mark’s ability to merge classic and contemporary, a hallmark of his two-decade run at the top of the House music scene.

For Knight, who founded Toolroom in 2003, the collaboration represents another addition to the label’s catalog of dancefloor-focused releases. The Birmingham-born producer has consistently championed the groove-heavy, tech-house sound that defines the Toolroom brand, while Hurr brings his own production prowess to the collaboration.

Pure groove, from the hand of three kings.

Toolroom Records has officially set the stage for one of its hottest releases of 2026 (imagine just how lovely it is that I’m stating this in February), as House music titans Armand Van Helden, Mark Knight, and D. Ramirez join forces for the new single ‘You‘. A proper heavyweight collaboration that builds on the monumental success of Van Helden and Knight’s previous joint venture, ‘The Music Began To Play‘.

While Armand and Mark have developed a prolific creative partnership in recent years, ‘You’ marks the first time that production veteran D. Ramirez has entered the fold, adding a fresh, gritty dynamic to the duo’s established sound. This new tune proves why some legends truly stay legends.

‘You’

And what a collab this is. Showing the true powers of those behind its creation, ‘You’ is a true groovy masterpiece, yet at the same time full of melody and soul. Splicing vocal hooks from yesteryear and building a whole tune around them, this song taps into that older House feel while still retaining modern cues and surgical precision while mixing, true to the artists’ philosophy.

For careers as extensive as Mark’s, Armand’s and D’s, a monumental release is not really a surprise, as you always expect the most top-notch delivery from them. But it certainly is a real treat to be able to translate those hopes into a reality whenever you hear something new from them. Once again, it’s proof as to why, and how, some kings keep their crowns on for so long.

Listen to Armand Van Helden, Mark Knight and D. Ramirez‘s brand-new ‘You’, by hitting the ‘Play‘ button on the Spotify player below.
We recently chatted with a very interesting promise in the world of Dance music.

Whenever you’re hunting for a groove that feels truly grounded nowadays, it’s easy to get lost in the slipstream of “influencer DJs” who prioritize the aesthetic over the output. Sometimes you want an artist who understands that the dancefloor, much like a stadium, is a high-pressure environment where only the disciplined survive. Enter HASKELL.

Moving from the international rugby stage to the tech-house circuit, HASKELL (James Haskell) has spent the last decade proving that his presence behind the decks is backed by genuine technical grit. With a catalogue that already reads like a “who’s who” of premier dance imprints such as Toolroom, Nervous, and IN/Rotation, he kicks off this year by releasing on Strangelove, with ‘Ice‘.

And his interesting story, paired with a killer release, of course, led us to have a little chat with him. So, sit back and read on, as we present you our interview with HASKELL.

How did ‘Ice’ come to be? We’d love to know how it became the song that it is today.

Ice came about through me being sent a vocal by Alex Jones from Dent & Peaker. Alex occasionally sends me musical ideas and sketches, and this one immediately stood out. The moment I heard the vocal, I absolutely loved it—it had a mood and a character that I knew I could build something special around.

From there, I spent time constructing the instrumental, really shaping the groove and energy to complement the vocal. Once I had a solid foundation, I sat down with Dean Ramirez, and together we refined it into what became Ice. The whole process felt very natural. It was bumpy, it was cool, and most importantly, it felt authentic to the kind of music I wanted to make at that point. The end result was exactly what I’d hoped for—something that felt both underground and playable.

Where did the main musical hook and stabs come from? That funky chord/phased out stab pairs with the crystal-like melody so well!

The chorus-based stab was an idea I originally put together myself, and then Dean and I refined it together in the studio. That collaborative process really elevated the track. It was one of those moments where everything clicked quite quickly.

What I loved about Ice was the energy—it felt slightly different, but still familiar enough to connect instantly with people. Everyone I played it to responded positively, and that reaction was really reassuring. You could feel that it had something about it that worked on a dancefloor without trying too hard.

How would you describe your overall approach to making music? What’s your process when you sit in the studio and start a song?

My approach to making music is very much twofold. Sometimes it starts with a vocal—something that instantly sparks an idea or emotion—and other times it begins with a reference track, where I hear a sound or a direction and think, that’s the world I want to explore.

From there, I’ll either sit down with another musician or dive into samples, vocals, and textures until something clicks. Referencing is incredibly important for me. It gives you a sense of direction and helps you avoid going completely off-piste, which is very easy to do in the studio. Whether it’s building a track around a vocal or shaping an idea inspired by a reference, the goal is always the same: create something that feels cohesive, purposeful, and honest.

Which artists have influenced or inspired your sound?

There are so many artists I admire in the music world. People like Mark Knight and Carl Cox have had a huge impact—not just musically, but in how they approach their careers. I also really respect artists like Mojaxx, Tony Romera, and Low Steppa. These are people who genuinely enjoy what they create, and you can hear that passion in their music.

More recently, I’ve also been loving what Max Dean, Luke Dean, Josh Baker, and Silverlining are doing. It’s a slightly different sound to mine, but I really admire their production flourishes and attention to detail. That creativity definitely feeds into where my own sound is heading.

What moments have made you realise your music is connecting with people?

I’ve genuinely been blown away by the response to my music. Streaming numbers and Spotify stats are great, but they don’t always tell the full story. The real moments for me have been seeing artists I truly admire playing my tracks.

Hearing people like Mojaxx, Carlita, and Skepta play Go Deep—which I made with Martin Ikin and Gene Farris—was a massive moment.

Seeing those notifications come through, knowing that people I looked up to were selecting my music in their sets, really made it all feel real. That was a big milestone for me.

What’s your view on phones and filming in clubs?

For me, people need to dance—that’s the priority. If you want to film a moment here and there, that’s fine, but in reality, most of those videos never get used. You don’t watch them back properly, and they don’t capture how the moment actually felt.

There’s this mentality now of if you didn’t film it, did it really happen? I completely disagree with that. You should experience the moment. Some of my best nights have been when my phone’s run out of battery and I’ve just been fully present on the dancefloor. Music is about dancing, connection, and release—it’s not about posting content.

If you weren’t in music, what would you be doing? Any other careers you were/are pursuing that could’ve become your parallel universe you?

If I wasn’t in the music business, I think acting would be something I’d really enjoy. I love performing in different forms—whether that’s DJing, public speaking, or podcasting. I’ve built a life around performance, and that’s something I value hugely.

I’m also about to launch my own tequila, and I’ve got a few other exciting projects on the go. Music started as a hobby for me, and it’s turned into a job—and that’s something I don’t take for granted. I’m lucky to be doing something I genuinely love.

Final Words

Legendary House music producer Ferreck Dawn has made a return to the prominent Toolroom Records label with his latest single, ‘Serious‘. The track is a high-energy House record built around an 80s-inspired vibe, which quickly established itself as a secret weapon on dancefloors throughout the summer season.

Known for his chart-topping releases on labels Defected, Relief and Kitball, Ferreck’s productions have always garnered support from A-list DJs including Carl Cox, Mark Knight, Nic Fanciulli, Luciano, Green Velvet and Richy Ahmed. If Dawn is good at two core elements, it is powerful drums and soulful vocals. This has proven to be the ultimate combo for dancefloor success.

‘Serious’

There’s a clear nod in ‘Serious‘ to retro roots, with prominent Disco stabs and heavily reverbed snares to match the vibe. Running at 126 BPM, the record is one of those tracks you pull out to absolutely demolish. Dawn explains that the central vocal element of the track inspired him to go in time, as the original sample dates back to around 1988.

And like every Ferreck track, you can feel the groove in your bones. It’s a piece made to evoke feelings of nostalgia but also an irresistible will to move your body to the beat. And as such, we applaud both the artist, and the label, for pushing such an iconic sound back to the clubs.

We’ve got a reimagined gem for you today.

Talk about a song full of history today! Toolroom‘s latest will have you reminiscing about yesteryear this time. They always deliver, but this time they brought out the big guns for a combo designed to mark the dancefloor: Sara Parker‘s rendition of a 30-year-old classic, icon Eats Everything, and irresistible beats.

‘My Love Is Deep‘, a timeless composition originally released in 1995 on the Sharp Boys’ own ‘Sharp Recordings’ imprint, took the scene by storm back then — and Eats Everything and Sara Parker aim to achieve the same level of engagement three decades later. The original track’s enduring legacy is inextricably linked to the late, venerated DJ Tony De Vit, who famously championed it on the dancefloor of London’s Trade nightclub.

Fast forward to the present, and the iconic track receives a scorching “Reebeef”. This reimagining arrives hot on the heels of Eats’ debut album, We Lost Ourselves and Found A Family, released in March 2025. With 15 years of experience, Daniel Pearce, the man behind the alias, he has garnered widespread acclaim for his adaptable productions and electrifying DJ sets, which showcase his broad musical spectrum that encompasses House, Bass, and Tech House.

Listen to Eats Everything’s Reebeef of Sara Parker’s ‘My Love Is Deep’, by hitting the ‘Play‘ button on the Spotify player below. Be sure to follow our page to stay up to date on the latest news and views regarding our beloved Dance music industry.

The House label welcomes back an old friend for one of her standout sonic journeys.

House is in good hands, from what we can see. Toolroom welcomes ESSEL back on the label with ‘Look Back’. A certified club weapon that’s been a highlight in her recent DJ sets, with this new production she once again shows she can go from the ‘feel good’ moments to ‘lights off’ driving club bangers in the blink of an eye.

Originating in Liverpool, the acclaimed began her musical journey in a secluded winter workspace, crafting rhythms that would go on to captivate the world. Within a mere five years, she’s secured a spot among the ‘Top 30 Global Producers’ on Beatport, achieved two chart-topping releases on Toolroom with ‘Lennon’ and ‘Sweat’, and has made headlines for being a strong female presence in the industry.

‘Look Back’

Groovy and full of energy, the track features a distorted female voice which leads the way into the song. The instrumental parts are strong yet melodic enough to avoid becoming stale or too monotonous. It’s a track that simply works, and I bet it works even better with a proper soundsystem at a nightclub, with the lights off and lasers on.

Friday has arrived. And with it, we’re used to having an influx of new music. Well, on that bombshell (cue Clarkson), we’re happy to share this one with you. US-based House music duo SIDEPIECE have landed a very special signing for their latest release: they’ve sneaked into the headquarters of legendary label Toolroom for their new single, ‘Sex Sells‘.

Having joined forces with Dance icon Diplo for their second single ‘On My Mind’, SIDEPIECE have accrued the song’s streaming count to over 300 million, and also received a 2021 GRAMMY nomination for ‘Best Dance Recording’. They pride themselves on creating “party-starting club tracks with serious sex appeal“. And that tagline could not be more apt for their Toolroom debut.

‘Sex Sells’

‘Sex Sells’ packs a punch. It’s a saturated market today, and you might have a hard time finding a proper Tech House bomb that stands out from the pack. Well, take a shortcut by engaging with this single. The duo’s first-ever Toolroom record compiles a dry mix of short, snappy percussion, which pairs alongside a boomy kick.

The bass which acts as the last foundational element is absolutely groovy, having that dirty, warm quality. Over the base, massive searing synths, driving techy grooves and tongue-in-cheek vocals finish presenting a very tasting package. Playing analogue to the lyrics of the tune, Tech House sells, only when you do it well. I’d dare say these two truly know what they’re doing.
