The collaboration and integration between TikTok, owned by ByteDance, and music streaming services not under ByteDance’s ownership mark a significant advancement for the company. This is particularly noteworthy as ByteDance currently runs its premium streaming service across various markets.

On Tuesday, Ole Obermann, TikTok’s Global Head of Music Business Development, stated that the innovative cross-platform music saving feature establishes a direct connection between the discovery of music on TikTok and its subsequent consumption on a music streaming service. He said that “easier than ever for music fans to enjoy the full-length song on the music streaming service of their choice, thereby generating even greater value for artists and rights holders”. He added

“TIKTOK IS ALREADY THE WORLD’S MOST POWERFUL PLATFORM FOR MUSIC DISCOVERY AND PROMOTION, WHICH HELPS ARTISTS CONNECT WITH OUR GLOBAL COMMUNITY TO DRIVE ENGAGEMENT WITH THEIR MUSIC. ADD TO MUSIC APP TAKES THIS PROCESS A STEP FURTHER.”

The recently introduced tool will now be presented as a button labeled ‘Add Song,’ positioned beside the track name at the bottom of a TikTok video within the For You Feed.

Upon clicking the Add Song button for the first time, users have the option to save it to their preferred music streaming service. The chosen track will be stored in a default playlist within the user’s selected music streaming service installed on their device. Alternatively, users have the flexibility to add the track to either a new playlist or an existing playlist they’ve created.

After the initial use of the Add to Music App feature, the selected music app will become the default streaming service for future track saves. However, users retain the ability to change the default music streaming service at any time through the settings.

Additionally, users can utilize the Add to Music App feature directly from an artist’s Sound Detail Page.

TikTok’s policy permits the removal of lifelike AI-generated images that lack proper disclosure. Nevertheless, apart from situations where AI is intentionally used to deceive users, some AI-created content can blur the line between appearing authentic or artificial. In this uncertain territory, greater transparency is generally welcomed by users, allowing them to discern whether the content they’re engaging with has undergone substantial editing or has been generated using AI.

In its renewed commitment to transparency, TikTok will rename all of its effects utilizing AI by explicitly incorporating “AI” into their names. This marks a departure from its previous stance of not disclosing this information.

To drive more clarity around AI-powered TikTok products, we are also renaming TikTok AI effects to explicitly include “AI” in their name and corresponding effects label, and updated our guidelines for Effect House creators to do the same.

The new label will help creators showcase the innovations behind their content, and they can apply it to any content that has been completely generated or significantly edited by AI. However, TikTok won’t impose penalties on creators who choose not to label their AI-generated content, as long as it doesn’t violate the existing synthetic media policy.

Furthermore, TikTok has stated its commitment to creating a system for the automatic identification and labeling of AI-generated content. Starting this week, TikTok will initiate testing of an “AI-generated” label, intended to be applied to any content that is identified as having been edited or produced using AI technology.

However, TikTok has refrained from divulging the precise methodology it will employ to identify potential AI-generated content. The company cited concerns that revealing these technical details could potentially enable malicious actors to circumvent its detection capabilities.

It makes sense for the festival to partner with TikTok as it was described by the IMS Business Report 2023, which was released in April, as “the central place for fan engagement.” In fact, anyone who knows anything about the platform knows it is the best place right now to engage with fans and niche communities.

Many emerging artists have seen their songs go viral on TikTok, which prompted their popularity elsewhere. For newer (and legacy) artists, TikTok is now a key component of track release plans and many artists have even spoken up about their labels pushing them to get on the platform and post to push engagement.

Tomorrowland is a large-scale annual electronic dance music festival held at Provinciaal Recreatiedomein De Schorre in Boom, Flanders, Belgium. We live in an age now where social media drives what music we listen to. Look at all the trending audios and dances. All it takes is one trend and you could have the song of the summer. TikTok already has such a pull in the music industry, that it might as well have its own streaming platform.

ByteDance would still have trouble pulling people away from Spotify. The Swedish Audio Service has a very loyal fanbase. Being one of them, I don’t think I will ever leave the platform.

What Spotify doesn’t have is the viral social media factor. Just a few weeks ago, Beyonce joined TikTok to promote her new album. She licensed her songs for use on TikTok; a move more artists are doing these days. They understand the public will do some crazy stuff with their songs. This past March, TikTok released its new venture SoundOn. This company offers distribution and marketing.

TikTok is also going to be debuting a brand new feature called “Pre-Release.” This might sound familiar to Spotify’s “Pre-Saved.” And that’s cause it is. Pre-Release encourages artists to “give TikTok listeners exclusive access to clips in advance of releasing their tracks.” TikTok is always on the move – watch out Spotify.

“[The feature is] part of a broader effort to try and give people more control over their experience of Instagram…Ultimately, you know what’s best for you when it comes to how you use the app. And we want to make sure we provide tools for you to shape Instagram into what works for you.”

Instagram’s parent company Meta (formally Facebook) has faced scrutiny after many studies found Instagram is having a negative effect on the mental health of young people. The Netflix Documentary The Social Dilemma put all of social media on blast. For the first time, many people began to realize just how toxic social media was. Teenagers have stated they feel “addicted” to platforms like Instagram and can’t control themselves.

In addition to this feature, Instagram’s vice president of global affairs, Nick Clegg, stated Instagram will try to nudge its users to look at new content rather than shoving the same content in their face. Once the reminder to “take a break” goes off, users will be prompted with a list of suggestions. This includes: take a few deep breaths, writing down what you’re thinking, listening to your favorite song, do something on your to-do list.

Summer Gibbs lost her fingertip during Machester rapper Aitch’s performance at the music festival. Once the mosh pit formed, Gibbs states she was pushed against a barrier, where he finger “clamped in between two fences.”

Gibbs posted the experience on Tik Tok, which has since gone viral on the social media platform after dueting a video of the crowd helping her. The video shows security guards and attendees aiding the girl to remove her finger from the barrier.

“There were so many people trying to get the fence apart and free my finger and because of the adrenaline, I didn’t feel any pain as it was happening,” Gibbs said in the video. “I don’t really remember being walked towards the stage.”

The young attendee states she faded in and out of consciousness and had a panic attack that lasted 2 hours.

Viewers can see photos of the lost fingertip in the video, along with her statements about the festival incident.

But Monday, October 26th, both Quenlin and Diplo, whose real name is Thomas Wesley, both took to social media to explain. According to the producer, he is renting out one of his LA properties to the Tik Tok star.

In July, Instagram Reels became official. It’s Facebook’s response to the Chinese social network which has been in development for more than a year. This feature appears at the moment when the United States could ban TikTok. Consequently to this announcement, Microsoft is mulling an acquisition of this new sensation.

The company defines Reels as a “new format to express yourself creatively”. Its objective is to share elements that each person considers important, from dance, music, or a message to raise awareness.

The feature allows users to shoot, edit, and post 15-second video clips set to snippets of music or audio. The videos can be viewed via a new portal on Instagram’s Explore page. This section curates and personalizes posts based on a user’s preferences.

Instagram users have had the ability to post short videos. Now Reels offers new video creation and editing tools, many of which mimic those offered on TikTok.

There will be tools such as being able to select a song from Instagram library. Recording sound could also be used by more users, respecting the name of the original creator.

Also, you can use augmented reality tools, with a similar effect the “green screen”.To select a special background, it has timings, an option to align the clips before recording, in addition to being able to adjust the recording speed. To go to the Reels option, it is only necessary to open the Instagram camera and the option will appear to start with the video creation.

Instagram began testing Reels in Brazil last November as a feature within Stories but quickly discovered that users didn’t want the posts they’d worked hard to create to disappear after 24 hours. So the company revamped the app and released it to a wider pool of users earlier this year.
