In addition to that, they’re joined by melodic house visionary Lane 8, UK powerhouses Gorgon City, and festival mainstay Duke Dumont.

Moreover, the lineup expands with high-octane sets from global underground talent like Enrico Sangiuliano, electrifying selector Lilly Palmer, peak-hour expert Eli Brown, melodic favorite Cassian, the high bpm styles of KETTAMA, and industrial techno duo X CLUB. The concept, developed by Austin-based electronic music event organizers Secret Disco Society, cleverly addresses this dilemma. Instead of typical late-night hours, the ’30 Over Raves’ run from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. This schedule allows attendees to enjoy a full rave experience—complete with the music and atmosphere of the 2010s EDM peak—and still be in bed at a reasonable hour. It caters to a generation that wants to party but also maintains a 9-5.

Tanner Friesen, founder of Secret Disco Society, explained that the idea for the ’30 Over Rave’ stemmed from a desire to innovate and connect with a specific audience. He described it as an effort to ‘flip the script’ by offering a late-night style rave experience during daylight hours, specifically for the 30-plus demographic.

The music at these events is a key draw, focusing on iconic tracks from artists like Avicii, Zedd, and Swedish House Mafia, who were central to the EDM scene in the 2010s. The goal is to transport attendees back to that period, evoking cherished memories from their “EDM glory days.”

“Secret Disco has been building community for over four years, and while we’ve welcomed an amazing new wave of young fans, a lot of our original audience has grown up with us. This was our chance to honor those OGs—people who lived through the golden era of EDM—and give them a space that feels both familiar and totally unexpected.”

The next ’30 Over Rave’ is scheduled for May 31st at Austin’s Vulcan Gas Company. Tickets are on sale now for $18.

Spiritual Driveby

The Texas native DJ takes you on a wild and delicious ride from beginning to end. The album begins with the ambient track ‘devotion 396hz‘ that includes the vocals from Sara’s personal hypnotist, Restorative Hypnosis. Then, let mayhem begin. The album follows a journey into a sexy underworld, which includes the lead singles ‘Prisoner’, ‘Heaven’, ‘Pressure’, and ‘Because they want our Seat’. The entire opus is a collaboration with incredible producers, including Shlømo, Mike Dean, Nico Moreno, Alt8, LEGZDINA, Alex Farrell, and more.

However, the true essence of the LP lies within the rest of the tracks that were not as heavily marketed. ‘Veni Vidi Vici’ is an absolute banger. Aaron Hibell, UK DJ known for his incredible Trance-influenced tracks and versatility helped craft this track alongside a choir singer. The elite Latin Vocals and the runs add such an ancestral eerieness to the track, which influences the vibe of the album. ‘Speaker Freaker’ features Diøn, and its distorted synths fill each dancefloor and festival with vigor and euphoria.

As someone that has seen ms. Landry live four times this year, the way she is able to embrace the entire album on her sets in a way that every single sets feels unique, new, and fresh, speaks highly of her skills to create pristine atmospheres on each set. Moreover, the album is a big F*** You to people that doubt and challenge her success, her audio-engineering, and production skills on mysoginistic attempts to discredit her. Nevertheless, the album’s purpose is to represent that sense of unity on the dancefloor through intense beats and dark melodies.

Up Next

As usual, Sara landry continues to aim higher and higher on her goals. Major milestones for the High Priestess include headlining the mainstage at Tomorrowland in Belgium, being the first DJ to bring Hard Techno to that platform. We also have to recognize Charlotte de Witte for being the first Female Techno DJ to close out that stage in 2022. Furthermore, Landry started her HEKATE takeovers in LA and Tennessee. Let’s not forget she was the first artist to host a two-day Hard Techno event at The Caverns. With multiple tracks topping the Techno charts on Beatport, Landry is just starting to warm up.

In a couple weeks, we will return to III Points to catch yet another filthy Sara Landry set in Miami, as she makes her return to EDC’s Cruise EDSEA for her second year in a row. November will be packed as Landry embarks in her Veni Vidi Vici tour. After an incredible Arc Music Festival show, Sara will invade Radius in Chicago for two nights of mischief. Her power will also influence Dallas and Denver. Then, she will head down to South America to culminate the tour in Lima, São Paulo, and Santiago de Chile.

It might sound whimsical to always use mystical references when we speak of mother Sara. It serves a purpose, though. There is a reason why she has established such a wonderful following. Her music, and her craft, have managed to bring people together and channel different emotions through hard beats. This has resonated with a major audience, allowing her sound to become more mainstream, even when Hard Techno is still such a niche genre within EDM.

The stacked lineup continues with hybrid techno icon Sevenn, UK tech house-duo Solardo, and rising star Kill Script.

This two-day Spring edition of Seismic Dance Event will feature one outdoor stage, where fans can celebrate the turn of the seasons’ warmer months under the sun all day long, leading into afterparties at night within The Concourse Project’s main room. Prepare To Launch

The venue consists of a massive 18,000+ square ft hangar turned into club, and ranked 39th in the DJ Mag Top 100 Venues poll in 2023. As the night progressed, harder and faster beats would reign the sets, while everyone kept dancing and turned the warehouse into the Volcano Stage. The inside felt like An upside down airport runway with massive led screens and light beams that pulsed throughout the weekend.

If you wanted some air you could step outside to find the remaining stages. The Tsunami stage was an expansive outdoor stage that hosted some of the grooviest soundscapes. With a hard surface that remained solid during the harder rain days. The cold breeze did not stop anyone from having a blast and dancing til the end of each night. Logistically the layout was pretty easy to navigate.

Security was respectful and professional, with metal detectors and wands to double check. I did not see any major safety concerns. There were just enough food truck options, including vegan choices! Moreover, there was a water station outside and water coolers in the hangar, as well in the afterparties. There were some vendors, including a harm prevention booth by Safe Circles ATX, giving out testing kits and Narcan. Shoutout to 6AM for having a booth as well, definitely one of my favorite teams that host unhinged events in LA.

The smallest stage had lots of magic in it, therefore honoring the name The Realm. A small tent with nothing but amazing energy, sick beats, and a minimalist, bunker-like atmosphere. You could find some of the best regional up and coming underground DJs, and some special second sets by our headliners.

The House Of House

There is nothing like a diverse collection of some of the best House acts in the world. Most sets blended so many different styles of House and Techno. If you wanted some Bass House and Tech House you had Mau P and Chris Lake, with their own afters. Then you had Chicago’s underground princess Azzecca and Super Creep’s VNSSA, with delicious dark grooves, heavy beats, and amazing energy.

Wax Motif rode the Tsunami stage with his G House mastery. He involved softer melodies and mixed in high octane tracks, making it a powerful and one of the most diverse sets in the Festival. Astra Club was a divine encounter of Carlita and DJ Tennis, giving the audience great Melodic-Afro House. Lastly, we couldn’t move onto the next segment until we honor Kaskade’s Redux set. Not only was the rain at its hardest, but it was the very last set at the Tsunami Stage. He delivered soothing Deep House. With the release of his newest ‘Redux 006’ EP, he gathered the audience like a wave and made everyone transcend spiritually. He included some deeper mixes of some of his best tracks, and added some of his Kx5 songs. Truly in awe with that set.

Techno Time

If you felt that House wasn’t hitting the spot you turned into the dark side. The Techno was technoing, I mean it. The adrenaline during the techno sets transformed everyone into feral animals. Even the Melodic Techno sets were so spooky and high energy I got scared for a second.

Space 92, T78, and Eli Brown brought their A game delivering nasty sets that melted everybody’s face into lava. Anfisa Letyago and Patrick Mason blew everyone away with heir sets. Besides, Saturday and Sunday had the highest bpms of the weekend. Saturday’s after party felt like an initiation into a witch coven, a techno coven. The high priestess of Hard Techno Sara Landry invoked accelerated tracks with massive amounts of bass and obscurity. Jenna Shaw made her Seismic Debut opening for Sara with a crazy selection of songs that transported us into the Twilight Zone. Finally, Chippy Nonstop gave us the fine arts of Acid into the end of Night 2.

It did not stop there, as Techno Shamans Klangkuenstler and 999999999 closed down the Volcano Stage with the most twisted sets full of Schrank and the best energy I’ve felt inside a venue in a while. When we had to give our heartbeats a break, we had beautiful Melodic Techno acts. Those Shadows immersed us in a new journey of self discovery with their tunes. And the weekend ended with a powerful show with Korolova b2b Franky Wah. The pair closed down an epic weekend with some of the best progressive tunes. The last song played was ‘Be Strong’ by Korolova, really encompassing the Seismic Experience.

Final Notes on Seismic 6.0

For being a “boutique festival” with only 3 stages in a relatively small venue, it truly packs a punch. The vibes were A+, even though the production was minimalistic. The organizers did an amazing job at making the event fill gigantic with the selection of artists, while providing an intimate insight into the underground scene. I’m wishing nothing but the best for Seismic.

Seismic Dance Event, the world’s premiere boutique house and techno festival, has announced the lineup for its 6.0 edition. The Seismic Dance Event 6.0 Edition will return to the wonderful venue of The Concourse Project in Austin, TX and the event just came off of a successful Seismic Spring: Lite Edition debut event that occurred last month. Seismic Dance Event continues to amplify its reputation as a hub for underground dance music, which attracts fans and global talent alike in a spectacular setting that has nothing but good vibes. Headliners in the Seismic Dance Event 6.0 Edition Lineup

In the Seismic Dance Event 6.0 Edition lineup, there are some amazing headliners who will pump up the jams on that nice November weekend. Among the headliners include the superstar of modern North American electronic music and mau5trap founder deadmau5, Black Book Records mainstay and DJ/producer Chris Lake, and global dance music legend Kaskade will perform a Redux Set. Furthermore, REA10 label boss MK, the bangin’ beats of German artists Boys Noize and Loco Dice, and Dirtybird favorites Walker & Royce also complement the already awesome headlining lineup.

Set to take place at Moody Amphitheater at Waterloo Park, Billboard Presents THE STAGE at SXSW will be headlined by rapper Lil Yachty on March 16th, Latin artists Feid and Eladio Carrion on March 17th, and Kx5–the collaborative project from Kaskade and deadmau5 on March 18th. The concert series will also feature opening performances by Lola Brooke and Armani White.

In addition to performances, several artists will also host conversations at The Billboard House, with official speakers to be announced in the coming weeks. Taking place Friday, March 17th, the interactive content house will also feature brand activations, photo opportunities, small bites and cocktails, and more. Entry is on a first-come first-serve basis, with a reserved amount of spaces available exclusively to SXSW Music and Platinum Badge holders and SXSW Music Festival wristband holders.
