Swanky Tunes & Going Deeper – Till The End

Swanky Tunes are known for their charming and uplifting melodies that still dazzle us with their main-stage impact. Already a leading figure in the scene, the collaborative efforts of these three dudes never cease to amaze.

The trio uploaded a video last week for their single “Till The End” and it somehow slipped through everyone’s radar. We were a bit late to the punch checking this out, but it was well worth the wait. The video acts as a visual compliment to tell the story of young children finding who they are through typical playground dynamics. The boys make fun of the girls and think they can do better, only to be shown up by the girls knockout moves. As the video winds down, the two groups of boys and girls come together in a break dance circle.

Harvel B & Asalto – Dance With Lions

Russian trio, Swanky Tunes, started their Showland imprint in September, 2014 and have featured some awesome and relatively unknown talent since then. For release #019 on the label, Showland welcomes Harvel B and Asalto with their tune Dance With Lions.

Dance with Lions is a smooth flowing track that gives us a nice return to progressive house at a time that has been dominated by an overload of future house releases. Harvel B was discovered by Blasterjaxx and Borgeous early last year, and has achieved three Beatport top ten tracks. Seeing support from Armada & Atlantic Records, Dance With Lions shows us why. Asalto is a young German on the rise, so you’ll definitely want to keep your eyes out for him as well. Check out a preview of their release Dance With Lions on Showtime Records, and head over to Beatport to purchase your copy now.

Hard Rock Sofa & Swanky Tunes- Stop in My Mind
Genre: Progressive House / Label: Showland / Release Date: 9/02/2013
Download on Beatport

This new track from Russian duo Hard Rock Sofa, creators of memorable songs such as “Rasputin,” and their Russian counterparts Swanky Tunes is going to be absolutely huge.  With the brain power of 5 of EDM’s best, it would be hard to believe that this combo would come up with anything short of amazing.  With booming synths and a powerful come up combined with entrancing vocals and what is sure to be a huge drop, I cannot wait for this one to come out.  Look for the release of “Stop in My Mind,” on September 2nd from Showland.

“I can’t say this song sucks or this dj sucks since he only plays hits like some blogs and reporters say. Sometimes you just need to give things a chance.”

What was it that brought you to EDM?

“We first heard (EDM) music when we were thirteen.” He says. “It wasn’t called EDM back then, but when we heard it, it was almost like a switch went off. We didn’t like rock music, we didn’t like pop music, this was different.  We didn’t go out and start djing until maybe 2005,2006ish.  When we started in 1998 we would listen to our idols of the time and pick apart their songs. How did they do what they did? And we would try to create something like that.”

So you strictly produced for the first almost 8 years of your career before stepping behind the decks? That’s a lot of original music!

“Well, in the beginning we all played instruments.  We had a boombox set up for the beats and we would play around the boombox.  Playing with a band you can’t make the crowd follow you.  With (electronic music) you can manipulate the crowd with your energy, with the songs you play.  You can make them follow you.”

We stepped outside for a cigarette and the rain hadn’t seemed to stop in the slightest.

“This place is crazy.” Stas said staring out into the ocean.

He took a long drag of his camel, and grinned at me.

“The last 4 days of shows have been wild but to end here is amazing.  I’ve never played in the rain before. Normally you’ll be under a tent and nothing hits you, but here the equipment was getting wet, I’m soaked. It’s wild.”

So what’s next? What’re you personally looking forward to?

“We’re spending a lot of time in Los Angeles now working on some new tunes.  You’ll be hearing from us soon.”

And like that with a wink he was gone.
