This is a great pack for any producer in the dance world. Exploring it is an exciting process because when you jump into different genres from hip hop to Latin to K-pop, you’re hearing all the different sounds and how it all works.

The subscription service company full of royalty-free sounds has signed a deal with the superstar artist. Speaking with Billboard, Splice CEO Steve Martocci says:

Splice is the first stop in creating music, because we help musicians find inspiration and execute on it. We’re best known for samples and loops, but we’re rapidly growing our library of other content types.

Along with announcing the partnership, Steve Aoki also took a studio tour with Splice. Providing some insights into the brilliance of some of his hits, he walks through some of his favorite synthesizers and plugins. The description of the pack from the Splice website says:

We worked with legendary producer Steve Aoki to craft Serum presets representing his favorite sounds across the wide range of genres he’s worked in. Aoki said that technically, it took him years to put this pack together because he produces in various genres from reggaeton to trance to EDM bangers and pop collabs. He wanted to share presets that Splice creators can use to cross-over between genres.

Niles Hollowell-Dhar, also known as the iconic DJ and producer KSHMR, just dropped the newest installment in his legendary sample pack series, “Sounds of KSHMR Vol. 3.”

The pack is available exclusively on the producer-centered platform Splice, along with KSHMR’s first two installments, which are among some of the most downloaded packs on the site. Sounds of KSHMR Vol. 3, features over 4000 unique and high quality samples featuring world instruments, crisp drums, FX and more.

For those that don’t know, Splice is a subscription-based platform used by more than 1.4 million musicians, to provide a hub of world class music production tools. The site enables users to download samples, presets, plugins, and share projects for collaboration in order to enhance the creative workflow of musicians.

Through the use of the iPhone voice memo app and pocket recorders, musical ideas and sounds can be captured instantaneously. Given the age of technology today, anything that can make a sound can be used to create music.

Wielded with field recorders and a knowledge of the land, Detroit legends Shigeto and Wajeed set off into the city to capture sounds. Whether it was recording the sound of a dumpster lid in an alleyway or recording the process of a record being pressed, Shigeto and Wajeed sought out to find sounds that inspired them.

After acquiring the sounds, artists from the Movement 2018 lineup were asked to come in and transform the sounds into unique samples, which is now available on Splice Sounds.

Artists who contributed to the pack include: Andrés, Mark Flash, Ectomorph, Blake Baxter, Shady P, Delano Smith, Black Noi$e, Kweku Saunderson, Antenes, Marco Shuttle, MGUN, Chuck Daniels, Milan Ariel, Gene Farris, The Saunderson Brothers, Marshall Applewhite, Mija, John Dixon & Chris Koltay.

All proceeds from the pack will be donated to Seraphine Collective and Spin, Inc, two organizations fostering development in the music scene in Detroit.

Los Angeles’s own TeamSupreme is known for being one of the most powerful and renowned collectives in the dance music space. The super-collective just announced their Sample Label with Splice Sounds in addition to the first volume of the TeamSupreme All Stars sample pack.
