Escapade Music Festival just dropped its official lineup for this year’s edition. Already one of the biggest festivals in Canada, EMF is going all out this year with a three-day event. The Ottawa festival will take place June 24-26 at TD Place. Let’s take a closer look at the amazing lineup.

After last year’s edition, the organizers of Escapade hinted that 2022 would be their biggest year yet. Obviously, they were not joking. With the addition of a third day, some thought the lineup would be diluted a bit. However, this is really not the case at all. The 2022 edition will have performances from Above & Beyond, Alan Walker, Audien, Cloonee, Deadmau5, DJ Snake, Dom Dolla, Don Diablo, Excision, Gordo, Holy Goof, ILLENIUM, Joel Corry, John Summit, Julian Jordan, Kaskade, Malaa, Martin Garrix, Said The Sky, Seven Lions b2b Kill The Noise, SLANDER, Tiësto, and Wooli.

As you can see in the full lineup below, there are plenty of other big names. This shows how incredibly hard Escapade has worked to make this year’s edition special. Moreover, the event will return to its original dates and location in June, after being postponed two years in a row because of covid. In fact, Escapade did happen in 2021, but in September, at Ottawa Baseball Stadium. Nonetheless, the event was a total success.

For those of you who did not have the chance to grab pre-sale tickets, please note that the next wave will go live Thursday at 12:00 PM. You can sign up for the newsletter here. If you are feeling lucky, you can also enter Escapade’s contest in order to win a complete package for you and your friends. Stay tuned for more news !

Another rescheduled music festival bites the dust as Escapade Music Festival’s new 2020 dates have been canceled. The Canadian event is now taking place in 2021.

According to an official statement made by Escapade, there were plans to continue holding the postponed dates in Septemeber. Safety measures were expected to be put in place to prevent the spread of the coronavirus within the community. However, due to mass gathering restrictions in Ontario, they are unable to continue with the event.

“The health and safety of each and every one of you as well as every member of our surrounding communities is our number one priority. After continuous consultations with the City of Ottawa, Ottawa Public Health, and the Province of Ontario, it saddens us to announce that Bud Light Escapade will not be able to move forward with the 2020 edition.”

New Additions For Escapade 2021

Due to the unfortunate cancellation, Escapade is looking to make the 2021 edition extra special. Although the majority of the event will be the same, there will be some new additions for ticketholders who choose to rollover their passes. This includes:

A third day will be added to the festival for those keeping their current passes for the new dates.

An exclusive main stage that will feature artists such as Steve Aoki, SLANDER, Nicky Romero, and Habstrakt. Those who rollover their 2020 passes will be able to take part in this experience.

Performances by The Chainsmokers, ILLENIUM, Kaskade, Don Diablo, Robin Schulz, Claptone, Chris Lake, Gareth Emery, NGHTMRE, Seven Lions, Griz, and Flux Pavillion.

Those unable to attend the new festival dates will be able to request a refund. Furthermore, details on this process will be sent to ticket holders on Thursday, August 6.

Escapade will be announcing its 2021 lineup on Thursday, August 6th. Stay tuned for the official announcement.

For almost a decade, Gatineau Quebec’s Riverside Festival has consistently delivered a memorable festival experience.

The hardworking team behind this year’s edition has yet to disclose what they have in store; the festival team have recently released the lineup – and it’s nothing short of spectacular!

Attendees can count on special performances by Steve Aoki, BTSM, Borgore, Zomboy, Jay Hardway, Lost Kings, Riot Ten, Tritonal, 13, Domeno, Maurice West, and more!

This year will mark its 7th edition; and will take place from Saturday, September 7, 2019, to Sunday, September 8, 2019. The festival will be at the Canadian Museum of History.

Having teamed up with a long list of A-list sponsors including DNA Presents, Bud Light, Beachclub, and more; there are no doubts that they’re gearing up to take things up a notch!

In 2018, the organizers brought a vast variety of special touches to spice up the festival. In the past, organizers included interactive games, the line of Beach Day Every Day alcoholic beverages, and as well as other fun activities.

We’re looking forward to seeing what the organizers have been cooking up! If it’s anything like last year’s impressive edition; fans can count on a truly fun way to send off the summer!

Fans can get tickets for the festival here.

Check out the Full Lineup Below:

On September 14, 2018, we had the incredible opportunity to sit down with the legendary Ben Gold for an exclusive interview after his epic set at City At Night in Ottawa, Ontario. We want to extend our sincerest thanks and appreciation to the beloved producer as well as his hardworking team for their time, organization, and kindness. We were delighted to get a glimpse into the charming DJ’s personality and lifestyle, reinforcing why he has been so undeniably triumphant throughout the years. Without further ado, check out what the UK-born musician had to share with us below.

Can you tell us which elements from tonight’s performance stood out to you among the rest, and ultimately, made you happy to be back in the Nation’s Capital?

First of all, it’s great to be back! I’ve had some amazing times here, and made some great memories in Ottawa throughout the years. Unfortunately, I haven’t been here as much, and I don’t believe that trance has been here as much either. However, Sheridan [Grout] did a really good job putting trance back on the map, here in the Capital. Playing intimate clubs in Ottawa is great – I really enjoy them just as much as playing a big room, or even at a festival. You’re really close to the crowd, and can feel the energy. I truly enjoyed the entire performance tonight. I tested out some new music which I haven’t played before. When you have a two-hour window, you have the opportunity to try out what you want. When you’re playing, you’re not too sure if it’s going to work. That said, it’s very easy to play the same old stuff; so credit to the crowd for going along with it. The energy, and the love, flowing from the crowd is strong here!

We have heard through the grapevine that you are about to unleash a long list of new projects. Can you tell us a bit about them and when they will be dropping?

I’m working on the second chapter of my ‘Sound Advice‘ album series. We’re going to aim to drop it sometime in March 2019. We’re also working on a new project with Omnia for a world tour next year under a new name where we will be simply playing our own music. We played twice together this summer: one show at Untold Music Festival in Romania, which is probably the festival show of the year for me, personally. I had never been to Romania, nor had Omnia. We had played a B2B performance the week before at the Electronic Family where we had only played our own music; that said, we wanted to continue to play our own tracks in Romania. We didn’t play the same set, however, it was pretty similar. We really dove into our back catalogue during that set, and we managed to put together an hour and a half of our own music. We felt that the set made us really unique, and ultimately, stand out. I don’t know what it is about Romania – but wow! I mean, everyone’s seen the Armin [van Buuren] video of him playing his seven-hour set on the main stage. But let me tell you, the energy was just as good on the trance stage, consistently. Truly, the footage from that show speaks for itself! Check out my Instagram. We decided that since no one is doing what we are doing, and we have our own unique sound, that we should just go for it! We have been in the studio and now have a new four track EP in the works.

Speaking of Romania, is there anything else that you would like to see while you are there?

I LOVE my job, it’s fantastic and I would never change anything about it. The reality is, it’s not as glamorous as it looks on social media. I get to see the hotel, the club, and the airport. I get to revisit a lot of the same places that I have been before, and during the second visit, I do try to take a moment to experience all that the destination has to offer. My passport is amazing – it’s full of stamps, but I am really looking forward to truly living all that the world has to offer.

You have collaborated with some of the biggest artists in the dance music industry such as Gareth Emery, and remixing Armin van Buuren. Who would be your next dream collab and why?

I would love to do a record with Ed Sheeran because I think it would be really different. If that were to go-ahead, I would love to stay close to his sound but put a dance beat behind it. I think the result would be fantastic! In addition, I would love to work with producers that I connect with on a personal level. For example, I met STANDERWICK in Ibiza. I have always loved his music, however, when you meet someone in person, you can truly see how they are. We just clicked, and had common ground. The friendship continued when we would talk on the phone. We would talk about life, and everything in between. Not to mention, we use the same DJ software. We both find this helpful in the long run because he can work on something, save it to Dropbox, and then I can go in and work on it. He just remixed my track ‘There Will Be Angels‘. Although we haven’t officially collaborated, we were working on an idea, and I’m sure that we will end up in the studio down the road.

Would you ever work with up-and-coming producers? If so, how do you suggest that they get your attention to make it happen?

The most important thing is that you have to find your own sound. It’s easy to copy other people. To create something that no one else is doing, and that’s original, that’s how people will stand out! This is the ultimate advice! You have to do this way before you make your social media channels and Soundcloud look good. Whatever you’re trying to market, or brand, you need to get the music right first. Make it unique, different, and all of the other elements will fall into place after.

Why do you believe ‘Who’s Afraid of 138!?’ is important for the trance music genre?

I believe that the result of it has split the trance market. That said, now there are several groups; there’s 138, progressive, tech, psytrance, etc. But seriously, f*ck groups – it’s all trance, it’s all one! I mean, you heard in my set tonight – I went from 128 to 138. I played Above and Beyond to Hannah Wants, to Cosmic Gate to Vini Vici. It doesn’t have to be so distinct – you can have it split up and make it all work! For me, if I go to see a DJ, I don’t want to hear the same record for two hours with a different melody. I want a variation – I want to see the differences in the overall flow. I don’t think that there’s a right way to DJ, however, what’s important is that they play with their heart and pour their passion into their performance.

This summer, you played your first ever 6-hour festival set at AIM Festival. How do you prepare for a performance of this length compared to a standard 1-2 hour set?

For a 6-hour set, I work in three separate folders: one is the first two hours, the second folder is the middle 2 hours, and the last folder is the final two hours. Now, it doesn’t mean that I have to stay in those specific folders, however, what it does allow is it acts as a guideline of what I would like to do throughout the performance. Playing at the AIM festival was a unique experience as it was at the festival itself. When I play at a six-hour set at the club, I would jump right into the techno, and then dive into the psytrance. Although I may not end with it, I would make sure that it flows really well. I always try to get the crowd’s energy levels right. At a festival, it’s a completely different experience because what I am used to playing at a club goes out the window when I hit the fest’s stage, to a certain degree. People go to festivals to have fun; they want to jump, they want to rave, and they want to go crazy, every single time. I found that at the AIM festival, I skipped through my first folder, pretty quickly, and I went straight into my second folder, much earlier than I had anticipated. It worked out well! Although I prepare the folders, I don’t usually follow them to a T. However, I do plan the A State Of Trance shows because you have to follow a strict timeline, 60 minutes. In that time, you’re not only playing to a dance floor, you’re playing to the world. You need to make sure that everything is bang on because it gets streamed all around the world, and then it gets downloaded, and shared. It’s also important to make sure that it’s different from the last set, ultimately, making sure that it’s fresh!

What is your favorite destination to visit within Canada based solely off of the energy in the crowd?

I’ve played in Montreal more than most of the other Canadian cities which offers a lot of energy, however, we can’t forget about Toronto. I used to go to Toronto when The Guvernment was there. I’ve had some amazing memories playing there like extended sets, New Years Eve shows, and many more! I also loved playing at Veld Music Festival – it was really enjoyable. Ah, they we’re all such good times. The Guvernment was one of the best clubs in the world – 100% the best club in North America! It was vibin’ in there! If you wanted to test out new music, that wasn’t a problem; the club would go with it. I really loved it! I have also hosted a Gold Rush stage in Ottawa at Escapade Music Festival, and had played at Era Nightclub back when it existed. Era was a lot of fun, especially when I brought Emma Hewitt. I feel very blessed and lucky to be able to travel this much.

Since ‘There Will Be Angels’ has now officially dropped, have you ever experienced a moment where an angel has guided you? What is the story behind it?”

Not particularly, however, I do have a story about how the track was formed. Back in 2011, Audrey Gallagher sent me the acoustic track called ‘There Will Be Angels’. It was a 145 BPM played with a guitar and vocals. It wasn’t perfect, it was actually all over the place, however, there was something about it which made me completely fall in love with it. Since 2011, I had tried to create something with this track. I never forgot about it. Later on, I was sent this other vocal track. It was the same thing – I spent several months trying to perfect it, and I just couldn’t. It reminded me of ‘There Will Be Angels’. From that moment, I contacted Audrey, keep in mind this was now seven years later. It was fate! I told her that I wanted it to be the lead single of my album. It just meant so much to me. So we got right back into it. We had to record the guitars and the vocals again, with different keys (slightly slower 134). It ended up being the longest track to write on the album. I wrote for myself, which is the different from the other singles. I produced it in a way that I wanted it. I wasn’t worried about other people’s perceptions, or if it was going to win tune of the year, or of the week, I simply just did it for me. I knew that the vocals are amazing, and that the song’s structure is great, I just had to do it justice. If you listen to it, there’s no melody, nor any fancy production, it’s simple, and it works. I can’t believe that it’s already being added to so many playlists, like on Spotify, and has just achieved close to 1 million streams. Audrey and I are so pleased with the outcome. I actually called her when it was finished and we were both so emotional. That was her baby! In the past, other producers had tried to get it right, but couldn’t. Coming back to fate, I think that’s why it never worked out with anyone else before. You could say that she was my angel as she guided me back to this incredible track. We’re so proud of it, and hope you all love it!

In 2014, Farid Dagher and Ali Harb, the founders of a successful Ottawa based promotion company FloorPlay teamed up with local DJ Sergio Pari to create an event that showcased the deep and therapeutic effect of music. The result was My Deep Therapy, an entertainment brand that would bring the people, the art and the music they loved together in the most intimate of settings.

Recently, we had the absolute pleasure of interviewing the dynamic trio to get an in-depth look into what they will have in store for their upcoming Deep Therapy in a Warehouse event, how they choose who their international guest therapist will be, how they come up with the concepts behind the visual productions, and what was the inspiration behind their infamous logo!

We want to thank their team for taking the time out of their busy schedules in order to discuss these elements. In addition, we would like to extend our appreciation for their honesty. There are weeks, sometimes months, of planning that goes into putting together these memorable events, and although it may not always be smooth sailing, they certainly ride the wave so that their attendees can live a truly one-of-a-kind night out.

We are counting down the days until the August 25, 2018, edition. It’s not too late to purchase your tickets – buy them here. As we patiently await the launch of the highly anticipated event, check out what they shared with us below:

Who are the artists behind the stunning art displays showcased around the warehouse? Are there specific concepts that you ask that they keep in mind when creating the pieces?

The ideas or concepts for the art displays are developed by the three of us. The actual execution is handled by Ali who sometimes enlists the help of friends and volunteers to help us pull it off. When the venues were smaller, we tried to focus on only one theme per event but with a large blank canvas like the Zibi Warehouse, we’re able to include multiple installations and touch on various themes.

Speaking of art, can you tell us about the concept behind the visual productions seen at a Deep Therapy event. They always seen to match the music perfectly – is that a coincidence?

A key member of our team, Nerses Sarkisan who’s an artist with Eye See Experience out of Lebanon is the mastermind behind our visuals. The timing of the visuals is no coincidence as Nerses works them in real time during the entire event. He also does a significant amount of work in preparation for each event and has an intimate knowledge of the music and the vibe we work to deliver.

How many hours and team members does it take to pull together an event like this?

The preparation for each event extends well beyond hours and into weeks and months. Most of this is handled by the three of us. The weekend of the event, however, is almost a 72-hour marathon that starts on Friday morning and ends well into Sunday afternoon. We manage to pull it off with the help of nearly 30 people that include volunteers, bartenders, security guards, sound & lighting techs, visual artists, admission staff, laborers, and builders.

How do you choose who your international guest therapist will be?

We’re always maintaining a full list of all the international guests we’d like to someday include in our events. This list is based on the musical direction of the brand and is curated by the two resident DJs, Ali, and Sergio. Like many large-scale events, the selection of a specific guest comes down to a fine balance of artist availability and budget. We’re always on the lookout for up and coming artists and we always encourage our patients to submit suggestions.

What do you believe is the number one element that helps people feel better about themselves when they leave a Deep Therapy party? Why do you believe it stands out from the rest?

The atmosphere! It’s our primary focus and where we place the most attention to detail. We try to avoid many of the stigmas associated with nightclubs and focus more on a friendly, equal and inclusive environment where people feel welcome and comfortable. We encourage our patients to disconnect, reflect and enjoy being in the present moment. We pride ourselves on offering a therapeutic experience that’s cheaper than going to a psychiatrist.

After a few years, we reflected back on all the transformations we took part in: the event adapting to different venues, the growing themes we explored, the talent we showcased, the communication of our ideas and the expansion of our brand. We looked for a symbol that could communicate the transformations we had undergone and would continue to grow through. What better than a butterfly?

Butterflies are a deep and powerful representation of life. Many cultures around the world associate the butterfly with our souls.
At the moment we’re offering t-shirts, baseball caps, and custom EarPeace earplugs. We did an exclusive run of Deep Therapy tuques during the winter and we’re hoping to bring those back along with a few new items in the future.

What are some of the most rewarding aspects when your team finalizes an event of this magnitude?

The smile on our patient’s faces! An event of this magnitude is difficult to do but the most rewarding aspect is knowing that we’ve brought so many people together to create some fantastic memories and experiences.

We’re fueled by what we’re passionate about. We love music, we love art and most importantly we love bringing people together.

What can we expect at the upcoming August 25 edition?

More therapy! Although we’re always striving to showcase new music, art and production, our goal is to continue to recreate the therapeutic atmosphere that keeps our patients coming back time after time.

Deep Therapy: Halloween in a Warehouse

As the Halloween festivities slowly wrap up there seems to be one Ottawa event that has shined above them all. Deep Therapy: Halloween in a Warehouse has completely blown away the locals expectations exposing its attendees to an original venue, outstanding performances by innovative deep house/techno producers and memories that will live on for years to come.

FloorPlay Group is known for their unique and distinctive settings brought together by a community of passionate entrepreneurs and artists who actively showcase international and local talent. Their fashion-forward venues and cutting edge techno/deep house shows assemble a growing and dynamic crowd. The group incorporates more than 30 years of experience in the entertainment industry – and trust us, they are pushing their expansion limits from Ottawa to Montreal and all the way to Miami. The future is bright for this thriving company!

Speaking of location, the overall setting for the event was undeniably breathtaking. Stepping back from your typical pumpkins, ghosts and witches displays, the Albert Island Courtyard delivered a spooky, yet artsy, approach to your ordinary Halloween bash. The organizers incorporated candles, edgy exhibits of staticky television sets, and their infamous flair for creating stunning art pieces in otherwise empty and dead spaces.

Some of the headlining acts included Ottawa local producers: Sergio Pari and Ali Harb. Earlier this month Deep Therapy‘s followers received an unexpected, yet welcomed, surprise – an international guest therapist, Chaim, was added to the event’s already stacked lineup. Known for gracing the DJ booths of acclaimed venues like Stereo (Montreal), Panorama Bar (Berlin), Fabric (London), Output (NYC), among many more, the melodic atmosphere that he creates can only be described as beautifully universal. Needless to say, his outstanding musical reputation did not disappoint.

All of the artists passion for deep house and techno shined through their acts truly making the party a memorable experience for all. To get a taste of the vibe of the celebration, check out the 1 hour sample B2B set below.

The three creative and hardworking promoters behind Deep Therapy, Farid Dagher, Ali Harb, and Sergio Pari are well-known for preaching their passion for the EDM scene and their hopes for the future. Once you attend, the aptly named event truly does leave you feeling refreshed & healed.

“There is somewhat of a cliché, people think that electronic music, anything that sounds underground is for a specific group of people, but we are trying to connect people to that music because it really has a therapeutic effect”

A legendary atmosphere and music weren’t the only aspects that made the night enjoyable; a costume contest was held with the outstanding grand prize of a yearly pass to all of the Deep Therapy events in 2018. Michael Jackson & Medusa stole the show with their detailed looks – but to everyone’s surprise, another attendee came out of her cocoon to showcase her iconic take of the Deep Therapy logo (an artsy butterfly) & also won!

Many locals are counting down the days until the next gathering (to be determined). High expectations will now be in sight as this Warehouse party truly will go down in history.

Ottawa-Based DJ Duo Audiation are Taking the EDM Industry by Storm

Every now and again music enthusiasts can come across a truly groundbreaking artist that can completely captivate your attention with their distinct sound and for being remarkably genuine. Their particular qualities flow beautifully through their pieces leaving fans wanting more and more. Recently I have stumbled upon two up-and-coming Ottawa locals, Trevor and Braydon, that form the soon-to-be legendary Audiation. They have been kind enough to have taken a moment out of their extremely busy schedules, from headlining massive stages such as Escapade Music Festival and ÎleSoniq to working on their new EPs that are guaranteed to get you moving, to take the time to discuss their future aspirations, describing their craziest fan, winning incredible opportunities and much more with their audience. I couldn’t be more proud to write this article as I officially introduce these incredible human beings and more importantly, captivating producers to the world.

The Ottawa electronic dance music scene is blossoming with outstanding local artists such as Sheridan Grout and KHAØS. Sheridan has been thriving with his stunning trance releases in which the iconic Armin van Buuren has taken a special interest in as he has featured several of the Canadian DJ’s tracks on his massive label A State of Trance. The energetic Khaos has also been gaining recognition as she has headlined some large stages, notably this year, such as Beachclub, Escapade Music Festival, Riverside Festival and that’s just to name a few. As the talented individuals continue to climb the EDM ladder of success, there have been two locals that have really been standing out over the past few months: Audiation. There doesn’t seem to be anything stopping them from dominating more upcoming events as they continue to prove why they truly belong in this industry.

First things first, how did you two meet?

Braydon and I have been friends since grade 9! Braydon used to send me his music and I (with little to no music knowledge) would give him my unprofessional reviews. (Fun fact: I had to convince Braydon for months to actually give bass music a shot…you’re welcome world) -Trevor

Why did you decide to start DJing?

Throughout high school I used to do all the lighting and sound work for the school assembly’s and musicals. It was a much less glamorous job than what we do now. In my first year of university our friend Chris (DJ Razz) lived down the hall from me and he actually introduced me to DJing. I saw DJing as a fun way for me to use what I already knew, and put on an even more entertaining experience for people. Moving from backstage to front stage has been extremely rewarding. -Trevor

I have no real interest in DJing! We have a live set-up that’s in the works that will see me perform more like my live remix videos alongside Trev DJing, but as it stands I’m mostly just a workplace hazard on stage for Trevor. -Braydon

Describe your craziest fan

This will sound cheesy… but I always try to considering everyone our friends, rather than fans. We do our best to connect with everyone who comes to our shows, even if we’ve never met them before. That being said…there are some wild ones. We’ve had fans sneak into festivals to see us, drive 2 hours to catch our opening sets, and we have friends who refuse to miss a show. Our “fans” are the best. -Trevor

Who would be your dream collaboration?

I’d love to produce on a Drake album. Or maybe make a song with Just Blaze (in the vane of the track he did with Baauer). Anyone who has inspired me or I’ve modeled my sound off of I’d love to sit down in the studio with and make something cool with. I think me and Skrillex could make a dope DnB track too. -Braydon

I would love for us to do a track with Skrillex. He’s a legend and the original inspiration to me, and on top of that he can produce almost anything. I would be very interested to see where that could go. I would love to play a b2b with a lot of artists, but I think playing with NGHTMRE would be really cool, he has so much energy on stage. -Trevor

How did you win the opportunity to play Escapade?

Escapade was a fun but stressful experience. To keep it brief, we had to submit a 30 minute mix demonstrating our style and how we would perform at the festival. After submitting the mix, we had to hustle for votes from pretty much everyone we knew (and then some). It was a grind to say the least, Braydon’s caffeine intake definitely hit some unhealthy levels. -Trevor

Funny enough Escapade was the first show we ever played together as Audiation. -Braydon

How did you win the chance to play at ÎleSoniq?

We had to remix a track for Ghastly and once again hustle ourselves for votes. I think Braydon hated me for a bit when I wouldn’t leave him alone about making the remix, but it was worth it in the end. -Trevor

Finished it. Uploaded. Campaigned. Won. Threw down on the main stage. Opened a mosh pit. And had the absolutely time of our lives. Huge shout out to ÎleSoniq, Wavo and Evenko. They treated us like headliners even though we were an opening act and their artist relations crew was absolutely amazing. Can’t say enough good things about that festival, company and the city of Montreal. -Braydon

Who is your number one supporter?

I think the crown there has to go to my girlfriend Sophie. She refuses to miss a show and the few times she has had to have been devastating to her. Aside from Soph, my parents have been really big supporters of this dream; although they’re still staying on me about finishing school. -Trevor

What has been the most memorable moment for you?

It’s so hard to pick….everything has been incredible. Meeting people who love our music and love our show has been great, seeing our friends and family rally around us to help us reach our goals has been amazing, and of course travelling and sharing the stage with some legendary acts, getting to live out our dreams has been nothing short of incredible. -Trevor

It’s hard to pick one moment. But I think winning the first invitational to play Escapade Music Festival is probably the most “memorable”. It was the spark that set everything off and started moving the Audiation project forward. It gave us the platform to be a “real act” and not just bedroom artists. Shout-out to DNA Presents and Escapade Music Festival by the way. They’re some great people over there. -Braydon

How would you describe your sound?

Our live shows, albums, remixes kind of all diverge in sound. I have a huge fear of being boxed into a corner as an [Insert Genre] artist. That being the case, I kind of take different approaches to different things. Our albums are all telling a story, across genres. It’s like a big painting or puzzle that I’m trying to connect together sonically. With remixes I always want to go in and make the most lit (as the kids say) interpretation of a song possible. I never really touch a song unless I feel like I can make better than the original and something that will hopefully spread like wildfire. Our shows, for the most part, are strictly dubstep and Trev has full control over the sets and track order. -Braydon

It’s hard to put a hard label on Audiation’s sound, actually it’s almost impossible. In our albums you experience a story told through a lot of different genres – we hit a lot of different sounds. In our live shows the base is always dubstep. I always try to plan our sets to bring as much energy as possible and make things exciting for the audience. I love mixing in hip hop to break things up and keep people on their toes. The only concrete thing I can say about Audiation’s sound is that we will always keep you guessing. -Trevor

What are some of your upcoming projects?

We have another album coming in the next couple months (if I can convince Braydon to hold off from releasing it tomorrow). On the mixing side we’re working on doing another few guest mixes in the fall, revisiting some of the radio shows that have really supported us and trying to incorporate some different styles. I’m really excited for those. -Trevor

Soooooooooo many that I can’t keep up with. Our second LP ‘Already Gone‘ is more or less finished. We did a remix for Juno-Nominated Composer T Patrick Carrabre that will be on his upcoming album (which has been a project that has never made me sweat more in my life), we have a collab album in the works with all our friends that will hopefully come out before the end of 2017 – if not early 2018. I’m working with a bunch of singers and rappers right now on their albums as well. I’m working with a lot of cool YouTubers too on original music for their vlogs. There’s a bunch of other stuff I can’t talk about right now, but it’s all super exciting and I can’t wait to share it. -Braydon

Anything else that you’d like to share?

‘Already Gone’ will be our second full length album to drop in 6 months and is the last part of a trilogy.

Right now, there is no place I’d rather play than a sold out show in our hometown of Kingston, Ontario. We’ve never had a “real” show there. The last time we played, Audiation wasn’t even a thing and we almost got thrown off stage for playing dubstep. I just want one, real show, in my home town and then I’ll shoot for those dream stages. -Braydon

It’s been a long time goal of mine to be able to perform for people and give them the same experience that I feel when I’m at a show. Every time that we take the stage we get to do just that. I think that I speak for us both when I say we need to give insane amounts of thanks to everyone who has helped us get this far. The past year has been crazy, I can’t wait to see what this one brings. -Trevor
