Yuga Labs, the parent company of Bored Ape Yacht Club, spoke with 22 people who had eye problems after Apefest, said Louise Conroy, a company representative :

“We are very distressed by these reports. Regardless of the outcome of the investigation, we intend to do the right thing by our community members.”

Attendees took to X (formerly Twitter) to ask other fest-goers if they had similar symptoms. Some reported burning eyes, temporary blindness, and overall skin burns. Apparently, UV light from the stage could be the cause of it all. UV radiation can cause photokeratitis, which is essentially a condition that is caused by prolonged exposure to extreme levels of UV radiation, typically from artificial sources, but can also come from natural sunlight reflecting off bright surfaces such as snow, more commonly known as snow blindness.

Bored Ape Yacht Club released a statement on Monday. The exclusive club stated that “less than 1% of those attending and working the event had these symptoms”. More than 2,250 people attended Apefest. While the investigation is still pending, we hope that everyone affected is doing better now.

Angello revealed that he has reworked most of his classics. Obviously, the big question was: will those reworks will ever be released? Well, the answer is yes. The Swede confirmed that all of the reworks will eventually be available for the public. This is really great news for the fans, as many of his songs are still wildly popular to this day.

Steve Angello also talked about the song ‘Underneath It All‘, stating that it might not ever get a release. While his explanation was pretty vague, we can all assume that it has to do with the label or clearing rights. Luckily, as he said, the track is available online as live performances of it have been captured by fans.

Moreover, the producer touched on his future performances. Even though the world is really glad that Swedish House Mafia is back in full force, many would like to see a solo live set from Steve. He confirmed that there will be plenty of solo performances from him in the future, as you can see below.

Finally, Angello hinted that he would be interested to enter the NFT world. He mentioned that the 20th anniversary of his label – Size Records – would be a great opportunity to do it. However, the man did not confirm anything on that topic.

ANYMA wants to bridge the gap between live music and NFTs. The goal is to give fans the ultimate immersive experience. Since the launch of his genesis NFT EVA 0 in November 2021, Milleri continued to pursue this goal. The artist aims to use NFTs as a way to connect his different ideas to the shows.

Matteo Milleri stated:

Alessio De Vecchi has worked closely with ANYMA to bring the visual aspect of its shows. Even though the combination of visuals and electronic music is far from a new concept, the way ANYMA does it – especially by including the NFT world – is really different. Before NFTs CG artists were called for a one-time gig only, which limited the possibility of a long-term vision. However, NFTs changed the game and allowed artists like ANYMA to create an ever-lasting tale.

The Coachella Key Collection was the one to keep an eye on. Each of the ten Coachella Keys included lifetime passes to Coachella for one weekend in April each year. However, each key included access to different amenities.

The Infinite key was the highest bid of the night. The NFT sold for a staggering $270,000. The collector received benefits of lifetime 2 guest festival passes, front house views, $500 in food and beverage vouchers, private transportation, a meal at the Rose Garden cooked by a professional chef, free access to any virtual Coachella event, invites to private events and two free merchandise items per year.

Collectively, the auction brought $1,474,000 in sales to Coachella. The other two collections, Desert Reflections and Sights and Sounds were also popular. Desert Reflections sold out in 3 minutes; the initial price was $180, yet it is currently sitting at a floor price of $386 and a volume of $391,285. As for the Sights and Sounds collection, it is made of 10,000 NFTs of 10 digital collectibles. In those, you will find iconic festival photos and never before heard soundscapes from the Polo Fields.

Coachella has always been an innovator and continues to do so. It is the first festival to implement such a unique use for NFTs. Honestly, this is the type of NFTs that people would want to keep, so the idea is great.

At least the event is in person rather than virtual! It will take place on March 18th and 19th in Las Vegas at AREA15. Afterparty is leading the way in what NFTs can become.

There are 3 ways you will be able to attend this show. The first is to buy an Afterparty Mintpass. This will allow an attendee to mint a Utopian NFT which grants artist-level access to the festival for the next 5 years. The current floor price for one of these is 40 ETH (over $125,000 at the time of writing).

The second method to get access is to buy Afterparty Utopians. This is a golden ticket of some nature, with the smooth price of 50 ETH. A buyer gets “all access”, which unlocks both real-world and metaverse experiences and gains access to artist-level connections at the festival. The final method is the cheapest but luckiest.

The only other way to attend is to be invited by an NFT holder, who is allowed 1 guest and 2 additional passes for friends. There are currently 1,500 NFTs available.

We’re not 100% sure how to feel about this. While this seems like an innovative idea in the event space, the price to attend an event like this feels somewhat outrageous.

The website — which was virtually unheard of prior to this — features hundreds of live NFT auction listings for everyone from Drake and The Beatles, to small Australian bands. In electronic music artist’s case, we can find some interesting songs. For example, “Pure Grinding” of late producer and DJ Avicii at an initial list price of $100.

While this site generates profits from the sale of NFTS, none of the artists involved approved their tracks being made into NFTs for sale by this site. Among the affected artists we find drummers, producers, and singers. Several of them spoke up about his situation on Twitter. They asked that no one buy anything they sold on this and other sites in their name. Some have actually mentioned that they are going to take legal action against the site.

HitPiece Response To Artist’s Blast

Shortly after, HitPiece responded to everyone who was claiming their practices with a short statement. In this, it specified that the artists will be financially compensated from the profits, although we have no idea how.

HitPiece has claimed in correspondence with frustrated artists that tracks were sold as NFTs on the site with permission from music distributors. However, there is evidence that everything is simply being lifted from Spotify, and the music itself wasn’t actually being sold on HitPiece at all. When the site was live, it promised investors “access and experiences”, whatever that means.

Although it’s worth noting that the website doesn’t have any blockchain wallet connection available. It’s unclear if the items for sale are actually even NFTs in the first place. Artists affected are unsure what exactly is being sold and have been unable to get in contact with HitPiece directly.

HitPiece is currently unavailable to browse. This and more sites show the problem that the almost arbitrary appropriation of artistic works in the web world can cause. In some cases even exceed what copyright laws can cover. Without a doubt, one of the biggest issues that we will face in the following years.
