What makes this cassette so incredible is how personal it feels. The paper J-card insert was sketched entirely by Moby using blue and red ballpoint pens. He drew two turntables, a central mixer, and tiny doodles scattered across the card. He also left strict handwritten playback instructions. One side is clearly marked to play, while the reverse side instructs the listener to skip it.

Moby handed the tape to Tribeca nightlife host Dylan Hundley during an intimate party in the late ’80s. Hundley held onto the cassette through multiple moves across several states for nearly four decades.

The audio itself holds early underground gold. The playable side features a gritty mix of edits, spoken word clips, R&B, and early Chicago house cuts. Tracks from pioneering acts like Adonis, New Order, and The Specials weave together seamlessly. It captures the raw creative drive that ultimately earned him his landmark residency at Mars.

Tangible Piece of Pre-Digital Dance Culture

In our modern streaming era, artists send tracks via shared cloud and private links. It is easy to forget how physical and gritty electronic music culture once was. A young artist sat at a desk, sketched their own cover art, and physically handed it to someone. Bidding on the demo is live now through October 8th. Keep in mind, owning the cassette confers no commercial reproduction rights, and no digital rip comes included. You need a working deck to hear what is inside. For serious crate diggers, this is an irreplaceable piece of electronic music history.

The tour gets underway on September 27 with her Portola set before continuing later that night with an official afterparty performance at Audio in San Francisco. Azzecca then heads overseas for a series of European stops, including a support slot alongside Eric Prydz at Ironworks in London, followed by appearances at Smolna in Warsaw and Culture Box in Copenhagen. The European leg concludes during Amsterdam Dance Event with a performance at Bajes, where she joins a lineup that also includes Interplanetary Criminal.

Returning to North America, Azzecca is slated to support Moby at San Francisco’s Bill Graham Civic Auditorium before heading to Florida for appearances at Hocus Pocus in Miami and EDC Orlando. The run wraps up November 20 with a show at Artspace inside New York City’s PUBLIC Hotel.

Building on the Extended Sessions Concept

The announcement arrives shortly after the conclusion of Azzecca’s Extended Sessions Tour, a run of headlining performances featuring sets lasting more than three hours. Designed to give her more room than a traditional festival appearance, the concept allowed her to move across genres, explore deeper selections, and create a longer-form experience for fans on the dancefloor.

She brought the same approach to Chicago during ARC Music Festival weekend, appearing at an open-to-close pre-party at Castaways, a pop-up performance at Pure Green, and a set on ARC’s The Grid stage.

A Breakout Year for Azzecca

The newly announced dates add to an active year for the Chicago artist. Earlier in 2026, Azzecca made her debut on Coachella’s Yuma stage and followed it with releases across Warehouse Project Records, ATW Records, Factory93, and her own imprint, Cosimea.

However, Lusk’s commanding, gospel-infused vocal delivery in the California desert injected a fresh emotional gravity that fans demanded

Centered on a Gen-Z romance within Los Angeles’ animal rights and activism scene—a movement long championed by Moby—the true meaning of the acronym ‘TECIE’ remains under wraps until November.

The electronic music pioneer, who made his triumphant return to the Coachella stage this April—marking his first appearance at the festival since 2013—confirmed the news just ahead of his second-weekend performance. For Moby, this decision is not just a one-off charitable gesture, but a continuation of his life’s work.

The charitable donation will go towards four different organisations: Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, Mercy For Animals, The Humane League and Direct Action Everywhere.

Moby, who has been an outspoken advocate for veganism and animal welfare for decades, stated clearly that his primary goal at this stage in his career is to leverage his platform for tangible change. “My main job in life is working as an animal rights activist, and to that end, my hope is to use the revenue and attention from my Coachella show to draw attention to, and financially support, animal rights organizations,” the artist shared in an announcement during his performance.

This isn’t the first time he has donated; in 2024 he donated 100% of the profits from his sold-out European tour to animal rights causes. By choosing to prioritize “purpose over profit,” Moby continues to prove that his influence in the electronic scene extends far beyond the dancefloor.

Originally dubbed a bridge between rave and classical music by Billboard, ‘Feeling So Real‘ remains one of Moby‘s most distinctive and respected works. The track became a founding pillar of what we now know so well as Moby’s unique artistic vision. Why are we bringing this up? Turns out that, decades later, ‘Feeling So Real’ is being reimagined with Ukranian superstar Miss Monique, for a tribute which not only refreshes the tune, but does so on its 30th birthday, down to the day.

And it’s a double milestone for our beloved MiMo, as she got to collaborate with one of the indisputable legends of the music world, while also landing this fresh take on her very own label, Siona Records. If this is not a sign of how fast she’s growing and how she’s got no plans of stopping anytime soon, I don’t know what is.

‘Feeling So Real 2024’

This update is something else. You may have had the chance to hear it a few weeks ago at ADE, when Miss Monique played it during her ASOT appearance, or in other places where the track has been rinsed. It’s a powerful, groovy, and pleasantly boxy structured record which truly pays tribute to an old friend.

‘Feeling So Real 2024’ is a result of both her and Moby actually teaming up, and I’d say the result is a proper reflection of said comment. It’s got original elements, and those which aren’t still are very respectful to the classic tune, which makes this update all that more special. “[Moby’s] iconic status as a true pioneer of Electronic music needs no explanation. ‘Feeling So Real’ is one of his rave anthems and it was a dream to collaborate with my sonic and sound 30 years later“, says Miss Monique.

Will I get enough ‘shares’ and ‘likes’?’ What happened to the idea that art and culture should be a contemptuous refuge from the mainstream, as opposed to this lickspittle, running dog accommodation to the mainstream? And so what I have to say to artists I want to work with is: ‘Look. We’re trying to make something unique, idiosyncratic, and personal and the music and lyrics don’t need to explain themselves. They can be obscure, they can be whatever you want them to be.’”

The label will be entirely virtual and exist out of Moby’s recording studio to emphasize “non-corporeal non-entrepreneurialism.” He stated he might make physical copies at some point (vinyl discs and/or CDs), but the main idea is for fans to be able to look for new music and discover it virtually.

Moby’s Reprise, which merged his abilities with an orchestral sound, was released last May and received a lot of attention from fans and media. Recently, it was announced that the album Reprise Remixes features various top artists, including Moby himself.

The Giovanelli brothers give ‘Lift Me Up’ a techno touch. Being Tale Of Us Protégées and supported by many techno and progressive exponents, they have fluidly moved through genres which is being reflected in this remix.

It seems that 2022 begins in a big way for Mathame with this remix, and in their own words:

“The Lift Me Up remix is the result of a revelation gained from deeply listening to the beautiful original version. Unlike the original song, the orchestral version amplifies the shamanic context. Yet we are taking it to the next level and sublimating it to an almost heavenly ending while adhering to the law of oxide. Our goal is to emphasize the splendor of the harmonic orchestra featured in the ending, and Moby. The idea was no distort the surreal depth of the voice. To that end, we sampled real shamanic drums and used desert dust for the shaker. Strength, depth, spirit. We think it’s an open expression of uplifting integration, so we feel we have a bond strong with this remix. “

Mathame

Mathame continuously bring forth beauty in their production, and ‘Lift Me Up’ works to prove the notion. While we look forward to hearing more news from the Italians soon, let’s enjoy this melodic techno gem.
