Alesso spoke directly to attendees on his personal relationship with the One Direction star. Moreover, just before he played their track ‘Midnight’ in Liam Payne’s memory, he voiced a soft and gentle message on the passing of his friend and colleague:

“the world has now lost a very talented musician, human being, and a dear friend of mine.”

Alesso requested the crowd to turn on their lights whilst Liam Payne’s vocals echoed on Circuit Grounds. The singer’s image appeared at large on the EDC Orlando stage. Alesso wished for his tribute to reach everyone in the audience, with the love pouring in its entirety all throughout this highly emotional moment that was shared between Alesso and the crowd at the time, and now with all of us.

Liam Payne, 31, tragically passed whilst vacationing in Argentina. The artist suffered fatal injuries after falling from his hotel balcony. The singer’s investigation is still pending, and new findings on his death continue emerging days go by. The EDMTunes family would like to offer our condolences to Liam Payne’s family, friends, and fans. We would like to extend our love to Alesso and the message he made to honour a person that was very close to him. We know the impact he made during his lifetime will forever be ingrained in our hearts. Not only as an artist, but as a human.

World pandemics make you think of new ways to keep the music alive. Since the outbreak of Coronavirus, we saw many new trends. It went from live sets on social media, Virtual festivals, to Festival-sets rebroadcasted. Today, it is Alesso and Liam Payne who just released a music video for their single, ‘Midnight’, made 100% while on quarantine.

The Swedish producer teamed up with the former One Direction singer for the new release ‘Midnight‘. Everything was done while both artists were separated by the Atlantic, Alesso being in LA and Liam in London.

With one in the studio and the other in his balcony, the result is simple but still very clean.

“It’s kind of refreshing to just see Liam perform and me just working on the song…That’s really how we do it, you know? And kind of let the song have the shine. For me, it was refreshing.”

After releasing the progressive house anthem “One Last time” a few weeks ago, Alesso comes back sooner than we thought. But this time with a refreshing pop-like track. The beautiful vocals by Liam are definitely one of the track’s highlights. The beautiful melody by Alesso leads to a relaxing drop full of hope, which we all need in these times.

“Midnight” is a relationship song about coming together. But the performers said with the impact the coronavirus has had around the world, the song has taken on a special meaning…It definitely gives it a bigger meaning. We’re always going to listen to this song, at least me and Liam, and think about these times

Now is your chance to get featured on one of the world’s top artist’s tracks. Alesso shared a video on Universal Music Publishing Group’s Twitter page. He played a clip of the vocal sample and expects to crowdsource immediately. It is a beautiful sample piece with guitar riffs and keys in the background. Wouldn’t it be amazing to be the one that supplied his next vocal sample?

The track is out on April 8th, and as a result, he asked fans to record their own rendition of the sample. However, what’s interesting is there is no deadline readily available. Lyrics sound along the lines of “Now I just wanna stay here and fall into midnight.” Sounds like an emotional track ready for the Swedish producer to work his magic on. The submission is simple. Just upload your recording with the hashtag #AlessoMidnight.

UMPG did not release information about royalties either. There is a good chance Alesso is going to layer the vocals and create a stadium anthem out of this progressive track. Whatever the result ends up being, we’re sure it’s going to be unique and out of this world.

We haven’t seen him partake in any live sets since this whole isolation started. But he recently joined the gamine sphere with Marshmello and Jauz. They all played Call of Duty Warzone on the #Fight2Fund charity live stream. What says togetherness better than gaming, right?

Allen Watts- Midnight

Trance star Allen Watts has made some serious waves in the music scene since he first started producing in 2009. After over a dozen mind-boggling releases with Armada in only 4 years, the Dutch native has officially signed an exclusive recording agreement with the Amsterdam-based label.

Allen Watts has had a phenomenal last few years, catapulting into one of the trance genre’s most exciting talents. As if signing with Armada wasn’t exciting enough, he followed it up on the same day by releasing an absolute gem of a track called, ‘Midnight’. Allen Watts’ newest release supplies fans with rampant basslines and uplifting melodies that maximize dance floor damage. This track marks an exciting point in his career. He also chosen by Armin van Buuren for inclusion on his upcoming ‘A State of Trance 2018′ mix album.

Lane 8 – Midnight

Back in July, Lane 8 dropped his debut album Rise, which blew the electronic music community away with its impeccably produced deep house crafted atop richly emotional and ethereal soundscapes. Since then, releases have been sparing, as the supremely talented German producer has only dropped a handful of stellar tracks like his remix of Maribou State’s “Wallflower” and frequent collaborator Solomon Grey’s “Miradors.” About a month ago, Lane 8 fans were given an hour and half long mixtape to tide them over, providing a refreshingly relaxing journey through the cold, bleak winter. Now, Lane 8 is back with a brand new original track titled “Midnight,” set for release on Suara on January 18th.

“Midnight” begins with a dramatically calming introduction that lets the listener breathe in deeply as soothing piano and ultimately a driving deep house beat kicks in. This captivating beginning completely immerses the listener in Lane 8’s beautiful musical universe, which progresses smoothly and organically while effortlessly raising the emotional temperature. Lane 8 is on another dimension when it comes to crafting wonderfully melodic after hours tracks, a feat he has proven once again with the absolutely enthralling “Midnight.”

Joker – Midnight (Bassnectar Remix)

Although this remix has been out since December 8th on Joker‘s label Kapsize, it wasn’t until yesterday that Bassnectar‘s “Midnight” remix was unleashed to the world of Soundcloud for bassheads to enjoy. Bassnectar took to Facebook yesterday to announce this ‘new’ remix and accompanied the post with a link to a music video, which is directed by David Dutton. The video itself is a work of art, as it features Atomic Mari, an incredibly gifted ballet dancer. Originally intended as an art collaboration between the two, the video was edited to pair quite perfectly with the track.

This “Midnight” remix airs more on the side of an edit, but the added touches that Bassnectar sprinkles in gives this rendition a much bigger feel than the original. From its subdued and dramatic introduction to its explosive and full-bodied drop, this song is a feel-good, well-rounded piece of music that utilizes trap high-hats and melodic synths to get its message across. With an equally creative and captivating music video, Bassnectar’s “Midnight” remix, which you can purchase here, is an infectious and surprisingly heart warming track.

For everyone awaiting the official preview for Still Young’s “Midnight,” it’s finally here. It feels like forever that we’ve been hearing boss Steve Angello and his little brother AN21 interweave the massive progressive house tune into their sets; in fact, the Size Records boss dropped the now notorious track at Insomniac’s White Wonderland on New Year’s Eve 2013. The driving build of “Midnight” is a straight adrenaline rush, recalling in the best way some of Steve’s past work with Swedish House Mafia and his collaboration with Matisse & Sadko, “SLVR.” It’s another buzzworthy track from up-and-coming producer Still Young, who last week released his track with Kryder, “Feels Like Summer.” “Midnight” will be out on Size Records later this month, with an official release date of September 29th on Still Young’s Facebook page.

Once again ladies and gentlemen, Kygo is back with yet another fabulous remix. The 22 year old Norwegian has been churning these things out like nobody’s business, and he’s gotten better with every release. He’s gotten so good in fact, he’s recently set up a US Tour, drawn attention from the likes of Diplo and mixed for “Diplo and Friends“, and had this latest remix premiered by “the don” himself, Pete Tong, on his radio show. The mix in question is a unique take on “Midnight” from Coldplay. In case you missed it, he uploaded a snippet rip from the show, and proves he isn’t a one-trick-pony who just makes playful n’ peppy dance tunes. This track is sweet, slow, and sensual; Chris Martin’s voice is kept as ethereal as ever, but is now surrounded by a mixture of sounds that are undeniably sexy, giving “Midnight” a whole new feel. If this isn’t considered baby-making music, then I don’t know what is.
