The residency ran every Tuesday from June 30 through September 29, marking Capriati’s return to the venue where his career first took shape. The Naples-born DJ and producer has long been associated with Amnesia, and bringing Metamorfosi back to the club for a full season carried extra weight given the milestone anniversary the venue was celebrating throughout 2026.

Across the season, Metamorfosi’s Terrace stage hosted a lineup spanning generations of house and techno, including Richie Hawtin, Jamie Jones, Chris Stassy, Seth Troxler, Mau P, Josh Baker, Max Dean, and Ben Klock. The bill also pulled in Maceo Plex, WhoMadeWho, Damian Lazarus, Freddy K, Cloonee, Dubfire, Anfisa Letyago, Traumer, Fatima Hajji, and Wade over the course of the summer — a mix of established headliners and artists who’ve built momentum over the past few years.

The closing night itself leaned into that same range. Capriati, Jones, and Stassy traded off through a set that mixed unreleased IDs with summer staples, keeping things rooted in the kind of groove-heavy, late-night sound Metamorfosi built its reputation on this season.

Club Room Pushed a Deeper Techno Agenda

Beyond the Terrace, Metamorfosi dedicated real attention to its Club Room, running a techno-focused program throughout the residency. Names like Alarico, Serafina, Adiel, and Quest represented a newer generation of artists working within the genre, sharing space with more established techno figures across the summer.

That dual-room format was core to how the residency was built out — the Terrace and Club Room offered distinct but complementary directions, with the Club Room in particular giving the season a more underground backbone alongside the bigger-name sets happening outside.

With the closing wrapped, Metamorfosi’s 2026 chapter at Amnesia is officially in the books. The residency’s run across a milestone year for the club adds another data point to Capriati’s history with the venue, one that started well before Metamorfosi existed as a brand and continues to shape how the room gets programmed each summer.

Naples is where Capriati’s story starts, and the city has stayed central to his identity through a career that’s taken him to more than 70 countries across six continents. He came up helping shape the Neapolitan scene and has spent 20 years moving between minimal, house and techno, both behind the decks and in the studio, without ever really settling into one lane.

The lineup put together for the occasion says as much about Capriati’s taste as it does his standing in the scene. Honey Dijon, one of the more culturally significant and musically versatile DJs working right now, joins the bill alongside Chris Stassy, whose groove-driven house and techno sets have made him one of the more in-demand names on the current circuit. Josh Baker and Quest round out a lineup that covers a good stretch of underground house.

Capriati’s discography includes releases on CLR, Drumcode, Kompakt and Nervous Records, along with his own imprints Redimension Music and Metamorfosi Records. That body of work has earned him multiple DJ Awards titles, including Techno Master and Tech House, plus Vicious Magazine’s Best International DJ award.

The venue itself adds another layer to the night. Ex Base Nato is a former NATO military base on Viale della Liberazione in Naples, and its history makes it a fitting backdrop for a celebration built around Capriati’s own two decades of evolution.

The anniversary show also lands in the middle of Capriati’s Metamorfosi residency at Amnesia, which launched in 2022 and has grown steadily over the past four years. This year marks Amnesia’s 50th anniversary, making Capriati’s continued presence at the club that watched him rise feel less like a comeback and more like a full-circle moment for both the venue and his own career.

Joseph Capriati revealed the order in which the headliners will perform alongside him for his summer Amnesia Ibiza residency. In fact, the Italian DJ and producer will host three events under the theme of Joseph Capriati Presents Metamorfosi. The first one is set to take place on July 22nd, while the next two will happen on August 5th and August 19th.

Many big names in the techno world will be a part of the festivities. In addition to them, Joseph himself will play at each of the three parties. Let’s take a look at the lineup for each event.

On July 22nd, Francesco Squillante and Michael Bibi will perform before Joseph in the Terrace area. As for the Club Room, Mahony, Reinier Zonneveld, and Len Faki will take care of the vibes. On August 5th, attendees will have the chance to catch Joseph Capriati in the Terrace area all night long, which is insane. The Club Room will be the host of Gianni Callipari and Flavio Folco, Indra Paganotto, and Enrico Sangiuliano. Finally, on August 19th, the Terrace will dance to the beats of Sven Väth before ending another night with Capriati. Bobby Shann, Adiel, Markantonio, and Ben Klock will spin the decks for the Club Room section.

Being faithful to the title, the song explores ‘New Horizons’ within the artist’s production. To be more specific, it presents a downtempo build that moves away from Joseph’s characteristic techno productions. Moreover, the track acts as an ode to Joseph’s hometown of Naples.

“This track has priceless value and for me has a great meaning. We didn’t want to make a pure techno track, because it would turn out to be trivial together with James Senese’s saxophone and his voice. The idea was to make an electronic track, and it turned out to be quite trip-hop, very 90s, in a similar style to Massive Attack or Tricky.”

Joseph Capriati

The connection between Joseph Capriati and James Senese in ‘New Horizons’ is evident from the first listen. The sax offers a liberating experience inside Joseph’s deep beat. In addition, Joseph captured moments from Senese’s career in Italian music, a backbone of the famous 80’s Neapolitan sound.

In conclusion, it’s a powerful song with great depth to it, presenting the connection between past and present music. You can watch the official video here, or listen to the song below.

News of this comes from a 1-minute teaser video posted on Capriati’s social media profiles and Redimension YouTube channel. More importantly, a tagline telling us to “stay tuned” is even more of a dead giveaway. Mixmag initially reported a digital album release plus a 3×12″ vinyl and CD. The album consists of 12 tracks with numerous collaborations. ‘Spirit Brothers’ is a special track featuring Louie Vega. It is dedicated to Capriati’s inspirations for the song.

Everyone Joseph plays for becomes a loyal acolyte. Firstly, he is one of techno’s most in-demand headliners. With an extensive and accomplished discography, his performances rage like no other. Secondly, at the humble age of 11, he learned the ways of Naples’ techno pioneers, Marco Carola and Rino Cerrone. Naturally ascending through the ranks, he mastered his craft and is here today.

Thirdly, his brand of slick and emotive techno gives him the precision and flair for the genre. Infectious energy is the main side effect of his music. A staple among the global club and festival circuit, he is a mesmerizing performer.

No doubt this album is going to showcase just how much his skill means to him. Moreover, you’ll listen to perfect grooves of smooth, Italian techno sound.

For a tiny hint of what’s to come, here is the full tracklist below.

1. Improvvisazione
