Tomorrowland Unveils Lineup For Core And Main Stages

Sol Di Tomasso — Fri, 27 Apr 2018 15:58:34 +0000

This week has been a busy one for the People Of Tomorrow. Since Monday, Tomorrowland started to reveal the lineups for its major stages and concluded today with the highly anticipated Core and Main Stage lineups. Without further ado, let’s have a look at them now.

Core Weekend 1:

On Friday, there’s no better way to start off your weekend than with the beats of Nicole Moudaber and Jamie Jones, among some other artists that will definitely keep you waiting for more. On Saturday, the Core is transforming into Kozzmozz, bringing up some B2Bs that are literally from out of this galaxy, such as Ben Klock B2B Marcel Dettmann and Monika Kruse B2B Anna. Sunday will be the turn for The Masquerade by Claptone, with Claude VonStroke, Mat.Joe and more.

Core Weekend 2:

If you were thinking of just ‘dropping by’ the Core stage before heading off to catch another show, we are here to tell you to think twice, as this stage is going to be on fire for the whole second weekend. Friday, Spectrum is bringing us Joris Voorn, Maya Jane Coles, Rødhåd Vs Âme and Yotto, among some other fine artists. Saturday is the turn for the likes of Patrice Baumel and Dixon, to conclude on Sunday with Claptone, Idris Elba, Pete Tong and The Magician.

Main Stage Weekend 1:

Oh yes, oh yes! The King Carl Cox is opening the first day on the Main Stage, which will be packed with your idols no matter which music preference you have. Get ready for Alan Walker, Axwell /\ Ingrosso, Charlotte De Witte, Hardwell, Joris Voorn, Vini Vici… and the list goes on. The rest of the weekend will be as explosive as the first day, as we’ll get to see Alesso, Alison Wonderland, Armin Van Buuren, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike on Saturday, and Paul Oakenfold, Andrew Rayel, Lost Frequencies, Martin Garrix, Paul Kalkbrenner, Steve Angello and more on Sunday.

Main Stage Weekend 2:

If you’re not drooling by now, you will be when you see this lineup. To start off the second weekend, the Main Stage is bringing you Paul Kalbrenner. Also, Axwell /\ Ingrosso, Henri Pfr, Hardwell, Tiësto, and W&W will be there to keep you dancing nonstop. On Saturday, how about Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike? You can also indulge yourself with Armin Van Buuren and Above & Beyond. The Main Stage will have an epic closure on Sunday, as you’ll get to see Markus Schulz, Alan Walker, Martin Garrix, Steve Angello and Solomun, just to name a few.

With such legends, the upcoming edition of Tomorrowland seems to be taking over the festival season. Are there more surprises coming up? We’ll find out soon.

Claptone Announces Collaborative New Album ‘FANTAST’

Elisa Tibollo — Thu, 18 Jan 2018 17:16:38 +0000

There are few DJs who can pull off the masked look, but there is one that stands out among the rest. While he is instantly recognizable from his gold mask, Claptone‘s identity remains a secret, but his sound certainly does not.

Gaining recognition in 2013 with the song, ‘No Eyes’ featuring JAW from the electronic act dOP, Mixmag describes the producer as “one of the most visible characters in the global deep house scene” and his music as “crisply produced and effortlessly infectious”.

Since then, he has shown no signs of stopping. In the last 15 months, the artist’s event experience ‘The Masquerade‘, has attracted huge crowds at different festivals and shows from around the world, including Tomorrowland, where he will make his return to in 2018.

Last night, Claptone made a HUGE announcement. With the help of masked doppelgangers marching around London and New York City, along with a full DJ set live-stream on his Facebook page, the German producer and his team announced his newest upcoming album, ‘FANTAST‘.

The project, led by its first single, ‘In The Night’ featuring Ben Duffy on vocals, launches a hugely collaborative album. FANTAST promises features from Bloc Party’s Kele Okereke, Blaenavon, Tender, Jones, Zola Blood, Austria’s Katie Stelmanis, The Boxer Rebellion’s Nathan Nicholson and others.

If the irresistible sound of ‘In the Night’ is any sign of what’s to come, this is going to be one of Claptone’s best. Checkout the tracklist and tour dates below!

Umii Finally Releases Debut EP ‘This Time’

Frankie Wilde — Wed, 26 Jul 2017 22:09:34 +0000

Umii Finally Brings Us This Time

What happens when two incredibly talented artists come together? Umii happens. Umii is the beautiful lovechild of Portland songstress Reva DeVito and funk producer B. Bravo. The two have collaborated numerous times in the past and just recently they finally came together to produce Umii. The band officially released their newest EP today titled This Time via Fresh Selects and boy, is it funky!

Leading up to the release, Umii offered singles “Masquerade” and “Dangerous” to listeners just weeks before. “Masquerade”’s music video is definitely one to watch with its colorful visuals providing a backdrop to DeVito’s soft and sensual vocals as she explains that “Masquerade’s lyrics touch on the idea that all of us at some point or another have not lived our total truths, hiding behind the proverbial mask,”. Singing “I could never see your face/ behind the masquerade” DeVito remains mysterious and half-hidden throughout the music video, prompting listeners to further wonder about the message behind the song.

“Dangerous” is an upbeat disco anthem with DeVito’s silky smooth vocals dancing over B.Bravo’s catchy instrumental of a plucking bassline. Soulful and funky; “Dangerous” is a single that you can play anywhere at any time. Whether it’s driving late at night or dancing on a beach, this single is dangerously addicting (full pun intended) and sure to keep you grooving on repeat.

Putting a fresh spin on the Indie dance scene, Umii is definitely the band to keep an eye out for this summer as the release of This Time is only their beginning.

The Masquerade mixed by Claptone

The Masquerade mixed by Claptone

The Masquerade idea Claptone has been throwing around has been quiet spectacular. Originally coming from the parties featuring the masked producer and a few of his friends like Mat.Joe, MK, Henry Saiz and more in places like Amnesia in Ibiza and Webster Hall in New York City just yesterday, an expanded mix compilation has come out in the absence that you miss one of the phenomenal events. Check the video for some FOMO. “The clamour to recreate his nightly encounters with the crowds, his comprehensive club experiences and the joyous feelings of the first season of his own event has led to the creation of The Masquerade mixed by Claptone”

The mix is comprised of two mixes naturally. The day and night theme are fairly popular these days and allows artists the flexibility of choosing a multitude of different tracks from various times of day during which they perform. Out on Defected Records, Claptone had this to say about the curated mixes:

“The night mix is one for your perfect club night at home or in the car, for having friends over or making new friends, for getting intoxicated without necessarily getting intoxicated. The day mix is the ice cubes in your cocktail, a cool shower for hot hours on the beach, your cushion for a nice siesta, your key to a sexy flirt or just that sexy flirt itself. Forget everything you think you know about DJ Mixes and listen closely when I create, combine, recreate and decompose. This is a joyride through house music and audible proof that this music has not lost its powers. On the contrary, my mix shows that the right sonic potion works better than any of these prescription drugs for when you need something to bring a smile back on your face and the sun back into your heart, believe me.”

I’m not going to bore you with descriptions of the productions. The tracklist is below. Just know Claptone will put you under his spell as he has done with the rest of the world with these mixes.
