Life In Color Orlando

Life In Color Orlando was an event to remember this past Labor Day weekend. The event took place at the Central Florida Fairgrounds, the home of Orlando’s annual Central Florida Fair. The LIC tour itself has been running for 10 years and started out on college campuses all over Florida. From 2006 until now the tour has seen major improvements, from a new safer and brighter paint formula to expanding to larger venues that can accommodate many more attendees, it’s clear this event is only getting bigger and better.

GG Magree set the tone of the evening when she opened with a dirty remix of Waka Flocka’s ‘Hard In The Paint‘. GG brought it hard for the entire duration of her set, then closed out with a performance of her new track, ‘One By One‘. If you’re interested in learning more about the artist then check out our interview with GG Magree here. Paint bottles were also available for purchase, so in case the giant paint cannons weren’t enough, fans could spray paint on whatever and whomever they chose. Gorgeous splashes of colors filled the air all night, especially during each big drop during Zeds Dead‘s set. Life In Color also hosted a “Spray the Paint” contest that would allow two lucky fans to be apart of the action by getting to control the paint cannons.

The night was certainly something right out of a fantasy, the graceful aerial dancers mesmerized the audience during Space Jesus‘ intergalactic out of this world set, giving new meaning to the words space bass. Bars were conveniently located all over the venue for those that are old enough to drink, and a new “paintless viewing area” was available in VIP for those who needed a break. The crowd looked like a sea of beautiful people all dressed in white, resembling what heaven might look like if it consisted of lovely ladies in neon colored shorts and pasties. Check out a recap video of the event below.

Life In Color has managed to bring its magic all over the world and has about 7 more stops on its tour this year alone. The “World’s Largest Paint Party Israel being the next stop on the tour, and Bolivia being the last, there are only a few more chances to catch this amazing event, so grab your tickets here.

There were 3 very distinct stages offering something for everybody. The mainstage played on the arty industrial vibe of the Wynwood area, for an impressive result that topped 2016’s somewhat silly inflatable lion stage. From the mainstage revelers were treated to dope sets from Mija, Seven Lions, Diplo, and the red hot Marshmello. The RARE stage hosted the turn up squad as Carnage and his friends led the day. Attendees remarked that the amount of paint was toned down this year, and only really launched into crowds at the mainstage. For festival veterans, the general consensus is the less paint the better. Clearly those looking for the colorful paint had more than they knew what to do with.

Life in Color took a bit of a risk in downsizing on its 10th Anniversary, but in today’s festival environment only the strong survive. Big bloated festival properties did not do well in 2016, and SFX knows that better than anybody. Chalking up a win for LiveStyle, Life in Color sold out this year and showed that it has what it takes to continue on for years to come. Get ready as Life in Color hits the road to tour across the US in 2017.

In 2006, group of best friends Sebastian Solano, Paul Campbell, Lukasz Tracz and Patryk Tracz got together with dreams of throwing potentially one of the biggest and best paint parties ever, and founded Dayglow. In 2007, they took upon that idea and went forward with it, leading up to their first ever event at Mekka Nightclub in Miami, Florida. The turnout was larger than expected, and year by year their creative idea bloomed. In 2012 Dayglow switched its name to Life In Color, and now four years later it is what it was set out to be: The world’s largest paint party.

Life In Color has come a long way to now touring worldwide in various countries, but now they’re returning to where it all started: Miami, Florida. With Life In Color: Miami approaching just a week from now on January 16th, these guys brought us an awesome mini-documentary to show us how everything got to where it is now. Not surprisingly Miami has surpassed itself yet again with this year’s Miami Life in Color, the largest “paint party” ever. The music festival took place in the parking lot of the SunLife Stadium over the course of two days. With an estimated attendance of around 21,000 people on Friday and 25,000 people on Saturday, it was SFX’s largest ‘Life in Color’ yet. Using over 20,000 gallons of paint, and two never before used paint cannons, this Life in Color was a truly vibrant event. With headliners like Kasakde, Diplo, Borgore, Nervo, and Carnage, it was no surprise the crowd didn’t mind getting splattered in paint. These acts took place on three different and very unique stages, the “Downtown MainStage,” “Paint Factory Stage,” and a local artist stage. While the “Downtown Mainstage” was constructed with a downtown Miami likeness and even featured a similar dancing figure to the one on the intercontinental, SFX plans on potentially reusing the “Paint Factory Stage” for Life in Colors to come.

Day one’s line up included artitsts such as David Solano, What So Not, Caked Up, Madeon, Juicy J, the Chainsmokers, Bingo Players , Carnage, and even Borgore. While Juicy J was a little bit of a switch up from Borgeous and the EDM umbrella, the crowd went wild nonetheless. The Chainsmokers’ set was definitely moving, as they played right after Juicy J and took over the stage with their high energy and progressive style. While Carnages set was a bit too hard and heavy for most, Borgore was able to win back the paint covered ravers with a trap infused performance.

Day two of the festival brought more well known artists to the table, including to Deorro, Lookas, Kaskade, Slander, Diplo and Adventure Club. Set times for day two were tweaked due to conflict of interest for Diplo and Kaskade. While rumors surfaced about a possible Jack Ü set, it’s been confirmed that Skrillex did not make an appearance on stage with Diplo. Regardless, Diplo had the crowd twerking, paint an all. Kaskade was able to “turn it down,” with his closing set at mainstage. He played a very progressive yet captivating set. Other highlights from both days of the festival include unique art installations, acrobatic dancers on trampolines, fireworks, rides. All in all the production of the whole event was phenomenall, with attention to small details like a Cafe Bustelo station, to represent Miami’s special flare.
