Armin van Buuren – Another You (Mark Sixma Remix)

Armin van Buuren has to be one of the busiest figures in dance music, but he operates at quite the steady rhythm at the same time. He produces an album, works on a huge amount of remixes for it and then tours the album with a special 6-hour sets in select cities. At the same time, he runs his A State of Trance brand through annual ASOT tours in increments of 50 (ASOT600, 650, 700) and also headlines festivals across the world while managing his aliases, Gaia and Rising Star. Oh, and he is also the label head for Armada, Armind and several other related trance music labels. That’s enough to make you sweat just reading about it, but Armin loves what he does and pulls it off year after year. Just as Armin van Buuren announced details of his Intense album during ASOT600, it would appear that as he travels the globe for ASOT700, his next album is coming into view and the cycle will start anew.

Armin previewed a new single together with Mr. Probz during his Ultra Main Stage set titled “Another You” and it has already received a remix by trance-house heavyweight Mark Sixma. While the original mix has not yet been previewed publicly, the remix is an interesting blend of the crooning vocals of Mr. Probz, the uplifting synthwork of Armin and the energetic drops of Mark Sixma. The most interesting part comes if you examine the SoundCloud description for the track, where it is revealed that this track is actually the first single off Armin’s upcoming studio album, which is due to be released this fall. Listen to the preview of the “Another You” remix below and be sure to check out Armin van Buuren when his ‘A State of Trance Festival’ touches down near you.

Are you fiending for some ULTRA music? I don’t blame you, every one of those tracks make me yearn for the summer festival season to kick off. And while the closest festival is 2 months away, (HELLO UMF Miami!) we can help ease that pain with this giveaway. One lucky reader will have the chance to win physical copies of ULTRA Dance 11, 12, 13, 14 AND 15. Wow that’s a pretty sweet haul, right? Ok then, let me mention the other prizes; a SIGNED copy of Kaskade’s Atmosphere album and a copy of Calvin Harris’ 18 Months. So yeah, on top of the news that this album will be hitting store shelves soon, you also have the chance to enter to win 7 other incredible albums. Pretty sweet deal ehh? Enter now:

Hadouken!’s ‘levitate’ was a really nice to see on this mix as it has been out of the spotlight for quite a few months now. A lot of us know Hadouken! for his grimey, filthy dubstep. This is a venture away from that style -a much more upbeat club song filled with intense build-ups and energetic break downs. Here’s hoping that ULTRA 15 will give it a proper resurgence and bring this gem back to everyone’s ears.

Now here’s a song that can never be played loud enough. Where’s the love for Cash Cash’s ‘Take Me Home’ ft. Bebe Rexha? Cash Cash has two songs on this album, and they are both absolute gems. This is a special track that brings back those summertime feels and the endless nights of fist-bumping the night away. The song helped to put Cash Cash on the map, and for good reason; it’s an irresistible listen. If you can play this and not dance, you’re doing something wrong.

This is what the whole album is truly about: bringing back the songs that you love to listen to that have gotten absolutely lost in the EDM scene. There is so much new music today that it’s almost impossible to keep up with it all while giving proper appreciation to the tracks you may have enjoyed a few months ago. The beauty that is ULTRA 15 puts all of these songs in one place so that you can put the album on repeat and just lose yourself. While some of the songs may be a bit overplayed because of our good friend the radio (hello ‘Summertime Sadness’ and ‘This Is What It Feels Like’) there are so many that are completely overlooked, or are ones you heard in passing that you never got the name of.

One of those would have to be DIMARO & Ahzee’s ‘Drums’. This song had all the makings of a big room track, and then took a complete 180 with it’s unique xylophone drop. The sound is a nice break from the monotony that has become big room house, and is an awesome song to get the blood pumping. DIMARO & Ahzee kill it on this one and are poised to explode on the US music scene in 2014.Just remember, you heard it hear first!

These are just 3 of the gems you will find on this album. You can take my word on it when I say every song on this album is a banger and will bring you back to when you first heard it. Below is the entire track list, and when you see it make sure to order your copy here.

Followed by Fuse News, Armin stopped at Bloomberg TV, Z100, iHeartRadio, Billboard, and Sirius XM all before graciously spending a few hours at the Baroness Bar to chat and take photos with fans. Despite temperatures below 30 degrees, we lined up outside for hours waiting for our moment to meet Armin. Totally worth it!  Armin showed no signs of fatigue or annoyance following his crazy press day, staying a few hours extra to ensure everyone waiting had their turn. Seriously. You would have no idea this man just finished hours of interviews and radio shows by the way he kindly signed a few hundred autographs, patiently smiling for every ‘me-and-armin-selfie’.

Watch this behind the scenes video to follow Armin as he promotes Intense, and to see the plight of some of his most dedicated fans waiting for hours to meet him. And be absolutely sure to check out Armin Only Intense World Tour when it comes to a city near you!

Armin van Buuren – Intense (The More Intense Edition)
Label: Armada | Released Date: November 15th, 2013

A steady stream of phenomenal remixes for Armin van Buuren’s 5th artist album, Intense, have been flowing in the airwaves this year as everyone tries their hand at adding a different spin to the king’s productions.  Now, all the best remixes have been compiled and are officially being released in the More Intense Edition of Armin’s crossover album.  More Intense includes the original album, compilation of remixes, and is packed full of bonus material such as the music videos for “This Is What It Feels Like”, “Beautiful Life”, and “Waiting for the Night”.  There are also two brand new tracks: “Save My Night” and “Don’t Want To Fight Love Away” with Cindy Alma.  The “more” offers electrifying remixes by Dannic and the Starkillers while not shying away from the uplifting trance of artists such as Aly & Fila and Solarstone. There’s so much new material on the upcoming release that we could talk about it for days until the release.  Instead, check out some of the track previews below and pre-order on Itunes or Armada Music Shop.

Andrei Rata, or Andrew Rayel, has been producing music since the age of thirteen. Now, at only twenty one years old, his sound has developed and perfected its way to claim ASOT’s ‘tune of the week’. While Armin’s original version of ‘Intense’ is predictably what you would expect from the trance superstar, Andrew Rayel’s take on it is just slightly more anthemic. The added energy that Rayel brought to the track puts it well into the realm of other trance bangers. The melodic strings transition into uplifting super-saws, and finally culminate in a call/response melody that has been the staple of similar trance anthems. While Armin may remain at the top, I personally prefer Andrew Rayel’s remix over the original. All-in-all, the track is well deserving of the ‘tune of the week.’

Tired of those same old 60-90 minute trance sets?  “Armin Only” is back to soothe your soul.  Going all-in for another year in 2014, he’s bringing you more massive 6 hour sets.  This tour is a 20 stop extension of his Armin Only 2013 tour, this time making his presence felt on the western Hemisphere, with a number of stops in Canada, the USA, and Mexico.

As part of the announcement Armin released the following quote:
“The basis of Armin Only will always be a DJ set but to make it more interesting for the crowd, I’m going to try and really make the live moments almost like you would witness them in a theatre!”

Although not the most descriptive announcement – these tickets are going to easily appeal to the die-hards.  With this and ASOT650 right around the corner, 2014 is shaping up to be quite a year for trance.

In celebration of reaching 6,000,000 likes on Facebook, Armin van Buuren has released a preview for Aly & Fila’s uplifting trance remix of “Sound of The Drums” featuring Laura Jansen. The Egyptian pair have played an integral role in the resurgence of uplifting, euphoric trance in 2013.  With their successful Future Sound of Egypt 300 tour, recently released album Quiet Storm, and unforgettable set at the debut of TomorrowWorld, Aly & Fila are resounding proof that trance is very much alive and the sounds of 138 are continuing to flourish.  In their remix for one of the most emotional tracks off of Armin’s Intense album, the duo have brilliantly added more bone chilling depth to an already magnificent arrangement.  This track is best heard with eyes closed, arms raised, ears open, and volume up.  Try it and take the goose bump challenge.  You will lose.
