Yet despite the song having an official name and ASCAP registration, industry troubles got in the way: the two superstars’ record labels were unable to come to an agreement on a release. Citing these difficulties, in March 2017, Martin Garrix sadly stated, “I don’t think we’re ever going to release the track,” shocking fans and prompting a petition urging labels to reconsider. By the end of 2018, he stopped playing the song live. The already long-awaited ID appeared to be completely dead.

Until now. As Martin Garrix kicked off his Americas tour in Dallas, fans quickly praised the tour’s new visuals and enhanced production. While Martin Garrix began reviving the hype weeks earlier on Instagram with stories of the “repeat” emoji and a livestream preview of the song, the Dallas shows were his first time playing the new version in full. Ed Sheeran too, recently shared social media posts mentioning Martin Garrix, further driving excitement.

Garrix’s tour continues this weekend and his summer calendar is packed full of club and festival appearances around the world. Excited audiences have plenty of chances to hear the collaboration before it’s officially released. Right now, after over a decade, anticipation for ‘Rewind Repeat It’ is at a peak. After years of anticipation, the duo suddenly dropped ‘Smoke,’ crediting vocals to UK-based drill rappers Cristale and TeeZandos. Out now on OWSLA, the massive second collab was widely previewed in individual shows and other artists’ performances. Knock2, Virtual Riot and RL Grime rinsed the energetic track, at the time known in the community as ‘Killers ID’. The record wastes no time bringing in high-energy pounding bass and impeccably clean percussion. The drops, loaded with energy, create a perfectly chaotic atmosphere of intensity and drive audiences wild worldwide. In addition to Cristale’s and TeeZandos’ vocals, the track also includes several recognizable samples. One is from Skrillex’s own ‘Scatta’, and the other, “con los terroristas“, is a 2006 reggaeton cut, made world-famous after Baauer’s extremely viral ‘Harlem Shake.’ Notably, but perhaps unsurprisingly excluded, were the ‘Jungle Bae’ “hands up!” vocals often played in live versions, showcasing the track’s evolution before final release.

Coming up, Skrillex has a slew of festival appearances throughout the summer in Europe and North America. ISOxo has fewer shows announced, but confirmed appearances in New York City and at Factory Town, Miami. Conveniently, both artists will perform at Summer Smash, a hip-hop festival in Illinois, on Saturday, June 13. Both artists are full of surprises, so an unannounced reunion would not be out of the question.

During night one, Levity brought Brooklyn to a complete standstill last night at the Paramount, and it’s hard to imagine the borough’s bass scene looking the same afterward. From the second the lights dropped, the Chicago trio seized total control. Perched high atop their now-iconic spaceship stage, they wasted no time reminding everyone why they’re the fastest-rising name in the genre. The opening intro was extremely unique taking the crowd on a journey as they start up their spaceship.

The visual game was next-level. That massive, chameleon-skinned ship shifted colors throughout the show—deep purples bleeding into neon greens, fiery oranges, electric blues—always locked to whatever mood the track demanded. Lasers carved the historic Paramount ceiling into a thousand pieces, with dozens of beams turning the room into a living prism. Every heavy hitter got its own burst of synchronized lasers and the crowd was soaking it all up.

They hit the crowd early with their vicious flip of Britney Spears’ ‘Toxic’, a crowd favorite ‘Crystallized (Subtronics Remix)’ then slid into a ‘Sweet Caroline’ remix that had phones in the air and voices screaming every word. But the real carnage came from the unreleased arsenal—ID after ID, some clearly cooked up with Tape B, others screaming GRiZ. And of course, their showcased their original tracks in which the crowd seemed like they knew every drop and bass synth. The 90 minute show was incredible from start to finish and we can’t wait for what they’re cooking in 2026.

‘Rewind Repeat It’ has been considered “vaporware” since late 2014, when Ed Sheeran first announced the track, calling it his “very first EDM song“.

Garrix premiered the track live at Ultra Music Festival in Miami in 2015. The pair have since performed it together sporadically at various venues. Despite these live teasers, an official release has remained perpetually out of reach for over a decade. But all of that could change soon.

Garrix recently posted a cryptic photo on social media featuring himself and Sheeran. The caption consisted only of a repeat button emoji, which immediately sent his fanbase into a frenzy, reviving hope for the track’s imminent debut. While it is unclear if this post guarantees a release or is simply another tease in the long saga, a release seems probable given that Garrix typically uses his Instagram as a marketing machine for his music.

And while no official info has been confirmed and it’s all speculation, we can’t help but dream about it finally seeing the light of day.

Guy J is someone you simply cannot ignore anymore. If at any point in his extensive career you’ve happened to not know who he is, now it’s not that time. After years of leading the Progressive House sound with his influential brand Lost & Found, the next chapter in his musical journey came under the name Early Morning, his latest imprint.

A years and change into the label, Guy has continued to be a referent of sound for the genre, with releases like Cornucopia’s ‘Remember Me’, his very own ‘Million Years From Now’, and Sébastien Léger’s ‘Gaufrette’, among others.

For the tenth instalment in the history of Early Morning, Guy J himself takes the reins to release two of his most awaited IDs to date: ‘Worlds Apart’ and ‘Surreal’.

‘Worlds Apart / Surreal’

While ‘Surreal’ is a true bomb ready to go off in any and every Guy J set out there, the elephant in the room is sure to be the A-side, ‘Worlds Apart’. Will from Super Progressive summed it up perfectly in his Instagram post: “The lifespan of a track today compared to the span of a track in the 90s or the early 2000s is insanely short. But that just makes it so much more special when a truly amazing, truly emotional track comes out and you just know it’s going to be a part of your life forever“.

‘Worlds Apart’ had a meaning during its creation that is most certainly “a world apart” from the meaning I give it, or Will, or whoever has attended a Guy J show and has heard it live. But one thing is common for all, and it is just how touching this track is. Its melody sticks with you, does something to your brain and makes you smile, sometimes on the edge of tears. I say that with property, since it happened to me in February when I went to see Guy and he closed the night up with this track by the beach.

And similarly to how I closed my Above & Beyond album review, it’s crazy to think that the same arrangement can mean so many different things to so many different people. I want you to create your own story linked to Guy J’s latest EP, so I’ll stop talking and will give you the link to stream it yourself. This collection follows recent successful releases from artists like Danny Tenaglia, ANNA, and Joseph Capriati, and for sure carries on the legacy of some of the most iconic GU compilations in history: Sasha, Paul Oakenfold, John Digweed, Lee Burridge, Deep Dish, and many more.

The vast majority of the tracks on #GU48 Guy J – Córdoba are compositions, remixes, or edits that Guy J himself has created. The album is a collection of his own work, with a large amount of previously unreleased material. The album features two distinct mixes: a thrilling club mix and a graceful downtempo mix, showcasing the full range of Guy J’s talent. For the first time, a special Collector’s Edition will include an exclusive bonus 12-inch marbled vinyl featuring a single that will not be available anywhere else on vinyl.

Where Guy Is Currently At

Guy is, arguably, living one of the best stages in his entire decades-long career. After retiring his trailblazing label Lost & Found halfway through 2023 after exactly 100 releases, last year he brought a new imprint to the light: Early Morning. Having released new music under his main alias, and also under the more melodic Cornucopia moniker, he’s truly mastered the art of lifting goodies from his endless ID Hilbert’s-Grand-Hotel-like archives (if you know you know).

And don’t get me started on Argentina. Having made Buenos Aires my spiritual home and hanging out with so many devoted Dance music fans, I can assure you Guy J is more than a king over there. People go crazy over his five-hour sets, and he, in turn, delivers killer curations for his favourite country in the whole world, all four decks playing simultaneously. One standout moment year-round was when he closed his Córdoba set in February with a remix of ‘Need To Feel Loved’, while each and every DJ who had performed that night at the We Are Lost festival was vibing behind the booth.

For the photoshoot for the upcoming Global Underground compilation, Guy J even caused traffic to stop as numerous fans approached him for photographs and signatures, showing just how much he’s loved in Córdoba and the entirety of Argentina.

As Alesso’s set was coming to an end, he welcomed Martin Garrix to the stage. The two titans of electronic dance music then played a series of popular festival songs. They started with a new, exciting version of Sebastian Ingrosso and Tommy Trash’s ‘Reload’. After that, they played a high-energy mix of Garrix’s number-one hit ‘Scared To Be Lonely’ featuring Dua Lipa, and Alesso’s well-known track with Ingrosso, ‘Calling (Lose My Mind)’.

In a touching moment, Alesso spoke to the large crowd, telling them, “We’ve been working on this song for two years, and we think we finally finished it!“. The duo then started playing ‘Inside Our Hearts’, a song that has already become a fan favorite after being played in parts during Garrix’s 2023 Ultra Music Festival set. There’s been a lot of hype built around Sebastian Ingrosso’s upcoming solo track, officially named ‘Flood‘. It will be the first time in a while that we hear something 100% made by the Swedish House Mafia member, and as such, it bears a different style from what we’re used to hearing from him.

If you were expecting some ‘Reload’ style beat? Buzzer for you, you’d be wrong. Instead, his new song has various UK Garage flavours, sort of resembling Fred again..‘s stuff, particularly on the drums. The vocal is minimalistic, the breakdown introduces constant tension, and the drops are surgically engineered to be as full as possible with as few elements as possible. An element of mastery right there.

Out of all places Ingrosso could’ve aced and locked a premiere, he went down the old reliable route — Pete Tong on BBC Radio 1. The legendary station aired ‘Flood’ for the very first time, as Tong introduced it as a proper Sebastian Ingrosso ID. Check out the stream below.

John Summit is not holding back. One of the most influential acts of EDM over the last 20 months, turned to social media to tease a special song he’s working on. He turned to Twitter to comment, “currently writing what i think will be next years anthem“, alongside a short video which teases said song. Watch below.

The song, currently under the placeholder name ‘Ritual‘ as can be seen from the video, features an engulfing atmosphere with a somewhat Reese-ey bassline, and a warm female vocal, which seems to go just right down Summit’s alley. If we’ve been able to notice a pattern in his productions lately is just how much his recent craft is meant for a vocal topline as opposed to, say, his earlier Repopulate Mars stuff. And this one surely delivers.

The track seems to be in that style of very melodic and singalong-worthy Tech House he’s been pioneering for a while. After the rousing success of tracks like ‘Where You Are’ and ‘Shiver’, it’s only fair for the Forbes 30 Under 30 to write yet another chapter of his story with a formula that has assured fruition.

We’re yet to see where this new demo goes, and when — potentially, and when — he’ll premiere it, but for now, we can just wait… impatiently.
