DIØN had a major feature track with Sara Landry on her debut album. ‘Speaker Freaker’ is a massive Techno bomb with insane intensity and sound production.

The Dance music scene is abuzz after the release of ‘BAD‘, a powerhouse collaboration between Italian producer MorganJ and the fast-rising Turkish G-POL. MorganJ, a part of the industry since 2013, brings quite the experience to the table. His back catalogue boasts collaborations with some of the biggest names in the industry, such as Will Sparks on ‘More Than We Compare’, and Oliver Heldens himself, with who he crafted ‘Ma Luv’ which made it to the top of the charts.

On the other hand, G-POL has also brought fire to the collaboration, with experience that involves, among other goals, being signed to Don Diablo’s imprint HEXAGON. You could say both artists made a great track even greater — and you’d be correct. Or at least, that’s what heavyweights such as Chris Avantgarde, ARTBAT, and Miss Monique would argue, all supporters of this single during its ID months.

Every once in a while, you come across a rare trailblazer like young Dutch star Oliver Heldens, who stands out from the crowd with his own distinctive sound. A genuine superstar who counts No. 1 hits and more than 3 billion streams to his name is at the vanguard of the new generation of House music personalities. As well as being one of the most talented producers in the game and signed by RCA Records, he’s also one of the world’s favorite house DJs landing at #10 in the 2022 DJ Mag Top 100, maintaining his position in the top 10 for five years running.

An artist known for DJing, remixing, and combining traditional Balkan music with electronic beats, Shantel’s original version of ‘Bucovina’ turned prominent calypsonian Wilmoth Houdini’s 1930s Calypso classic ‘Black But Sweet‘ into a Ukrainian folk versus Balkan style masterpiece which became a dance music hit in Europe.

Stage Hosts

At first glance, we can see some pretty recognizable names. We have Heldeep Records, Carl Cox Presents: Awesome Soundwave, Q-Dance, and even Cocoon. In addition tho this, we also have Sexy By Nature, Flow, Get Wack, and Funky Town. The list goes on and on, and while I may not personally be familiar with them, all, I am familiar with Mysteryland. Having said that, i’m positive the remaining stage hosts are just as good as the rest.

The official announcement reads as follows:

“Ranging from Hardstyle, Techno, R&B, House, EDM, Hardcore, Latin, Hip-Hop, Pop, Trance and Disco; the Mysteryland line up promises to be more diverse than ever before. What’s your favorite place to be this summer?”

Taking this into consideration, it is easy to see that the lineup is truly diverse. If you’re into house, hip-hop, trance, or even disco, this is an event for you. The stage host flyer can be found below.

Mysteryland

Mysteryland is set to go for a full 3 days. The event will take place from the 26th till the 28th of August. The event is set to feature 300+ artists, spread throughout 22 different stage hosts. In addition to this, the festival grounds will feature an enormous campsite as well as numerous creative experiences in the ‘Kingdom of the Weird Party Animals‘.

Pre-registration for Mysteryland is set to end on February 21st and the tickets are set to go on sale February 22nd. Mysteryland is located in Haarlemmermeer, The Netherlands, about 25km South-West of Amsterdam and 5km from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. It’s got some HI-LO originals, and also features deep, dark techno tracks from artists like Ramon Tapia, Calvin Logue, Alan Fitzpatrick, Patrik Berg, and Space 92.

Basically, this is a two-hour mix you have to listen to. I don’t feel this way about many mixes, but the entire thing is amazing from start to finish. It’s the first Heldeep Radio mix of the year, and it makes it feel like 2021 will be promising.

Following 5 years of the ongoing Heldeep Records adventure, Oliver Heldens chose to launch another imprint. This time, naming it OH2 after his initials, and “2” representing the fact it’s the second label.

With OH2, Heldens wants to expand beyond Heldeep Records through more club-oriented sounds. The goal is clear for Oliver, and it’s to make a label around the more melodic and Dance/Pop leaning music.

“I haven’t really been able to focus on the more Dance/Pop side of things with Heldeep (with the exception of a couple of my own tracks). So my team and I decided to expand the Heldeep Label group and launch ‘OH2 Records’ which will focus on the more melodic and Dance/Pop leaning music”

‘Set Me Free’ seems to be the best way to start this new chapter. A fresh drop with a great balance of Dance/Pop, Disco, and Future House elements. Oliver Heldens had teased the launch of the label in late October. The track was also the intro for his set during Tomorrowland Around The World back in July.

After a big year of great releases by the Dutch DJ under his various aliases, we cannot wait to see what Heldens has in store for us. We are excited to see the artistic direction for Oliver with this new label.
