Charles D is coming off an impressive pair of years, in which he received support from some of the biggest names in the industry such as Eric Prydz, Adam Beyer, Above & Beyond, Markus Schulz, Layton Giordani, Cristoph, Simon Patterson, Ramon Tapia, Veerus, Kryder, Oscar L, Drunken Kong, Bryan Kearney, Paul Thomas, and more.

His record ‘YOU’ quickly reached the top of the techno charts and stayed at #1 for more than 6 weeks, and was credited by Beatport as one of the top-selling tracks for all of 2021. Now he is signed by Insomniac’s specialized techno label to present his debut work with many surprises for fans and for those who give it a try for the first time. ‘Heavy/So High’

‘Heavy’ is a testimonial of his signature sound, a progressive sound that draws on a mix of synths and external sequencers, representing a hybrid of hypnotic arpeggio synth lines with dark saturated techno baselines.

While ‘So High’ explores, even more, his unmistakable style in a more progressive way, that combines hard-hitting techno grooves layered with vocals. We get a tense pulse that suggests a distant, pounding dance floor, evoking the longing shared by clubbers worldwide in the first year and a half of the pandemic. As dancing continues roaring back, expect to hear this as a warm-up track in some of the year’s best techno sets.

Above & Beyond – ‘Distorted Truth’

Renowned Trance trio Above & Beyond released, ‘Distorted Truth’ off their ‘Common Ground Companion EP’ on their Anjunabeats label.  The companion EP chases their 2018 Album, ‘Common Ground,’ including ‘Flying By Candlelight’ (feat. Marty Longstaff) and ‘There’s Only You’ (feat. Zoë Johnston.)  The companion EP will receive a limited edition vinyl press, with the digital pack dropping on March 29.

After a bubbly and uplifting first single, ‘Distorted Truth’ brings the darker side of Above & Beyond’s music. The track provides classic trance-styled plucks, notably euphoric working counterpart to the gritty and heavy bassline.  The track simultaneously manages to be brute yet beautiful as it subsides into a piano with strings, and a mellow pad which conjoins a flute.  As the track builds again, rhythmic drums start picking up, the trance chords resurface, and the track is catapulted into a heavy kick with the plucks controlling the melody.

The single will correspond with the sale of Above & Beyond’s return to The Gorge Amphitheater in July.  The Group Therapy Weekender will host a three day camping event, with tickets and camping packages available here!

The Chainsmokers are all about proving to not only the music industry, but more specifically, to the world of electronic dance music as to why they truly deserve to be ranked among the best of the business.

To continue their respectable goal, the dynamic duo have established that their sound is quite versatile. In the past, their army of fans have been disappointing in the lack of EDM in their tracks, as they have chosen to focus more on vocal collaborations with pop stars.

In a recent Instagram post, The Chainsmokers have confirmed that they have been working hard with one of the bass community’s biggest upcoming artists. A new collaboration between themselves and the talented QUIX has been leaving EDM enthusiasts completely floored – no one expected such an intense drop! Seriously, you have to check it out…

The (unexpected) fire doesn’t seem to be stopping anytime soon. Flashback to the American producers’ captivating Ultra Music Festival set and it is clear that the duo has more surprises to come.

In addition, a rumored collaboration with NGHTMRE may also be in the works.

Everything said, there are no doubts that the group will be slowing down anytime soon – we can only imagine the impressive projects that they have in the works.

Although we are slightly apprehensive, we can’t wait to see what else they have in store – the new track with QUIX is unreal!

This is not the first time a DJ has had to cancel when touring in a foreign country. Sometimes the change in climate and food/drink the consume can cause problems and even though they are there to perform, they are still people like the rest of us. Sometimes when you’re that sick, getting up to perform on a stage all night is just not possible. Let’s hope it’s not anything too serious. Check out their full statement below.

Skrillex – Voltage (Slushii Remix)

Here’s a riddle for you. What is a frozen delicious drink that quenches your thirst on a hot summer day, but also freezes your brain with ground shaking bass drops? You guessed it! Slushii. And he has been on an absolute tear these last few months. He just released a new song last week on Monstercat titled, ‘LUV U NEED U’ and now this week he’s put out his own remix of Skrillex’s, ‘Voltage’.

The already bass heavy track got a fresh new perspective from the rising producer. And as usual, he did not disappoint. This track sums up Slushii’s style perfectly with smooth vocal interludes followed by raunchy, ear shattering drops. You definitely need to check out this remix. And if you need more, be sure to check out Slushii’s EDC set from last weekend. You should definitely expect to hear more from Slushii as the summer continues.

Galantis – Hunter (NGHTMRE x Rickyxsan Remix)

When Galantis first hit the scene their energy and enthusiasm caught us all by surprise. How could anybody possibly amp up the vibes in dance music? Well, these two guys did. And they took the world by storm as they created a sea fox nation with their invigorating, heartfelt tunes. Last month, they released a more chilled out track titled, ‘Hunter.’ And now, NGHTMRE and Rickyxsan have teamed up to deliver a terrifying remix of that track.

NGHTMRE and Rickyxsan have both been experiencing a meteoric rise in popularity with their industrial, often raunchy, trap productions. Both have become staples in festival lineups and party playlists. Their latest remix is no exception. Their take on this tune takes that adorable sea fox and turns it into a nightmarish creature that stalks through the forest at night. Don’t be surprised to hear this collab get dropped all summer. You can check out the stream of this hard hitting remix below!

Snails & Pegboard Nerds – Deep in the Night (The Remixes)

Just about six months ago, two dubstep powerhouses got together to deliver a grimey track that had our faces melting. That collaboration combined the raunchiness of Snails with massive bass from Pegboard Nerds; the result was the hard-hitting track, ‘Deep in the Night.’ Since then, producers have had some time to add their own style to it and now we have the remixes.

Barely Alive, Dion Timmer and Muzzy all dropped off their takes on the track with their respective styles and they are all solid. These remixes have given the already heavy track even more weight and will definitely scatter your brain. After listening to all three, it’s honestly difficult to pick a favorite, but who needs to? Check out the remix pack below as you stream it for your next rager, but you’ve been warned, side effects may include: face melting, chaotic behavior, and total loss of rational thought.

With that said, enjoy!

Zomboy – Like A Bitch (Kill The Noise Remix)

There was a particular song last year that dozens of trap and dubstep DJs used during their live sets last year. Here’s a hint: it was possibly the heaviest song of 2016 and it politely requested you to adjust your behavior. Can you guess it? It was Zomboy’s ‘Like a Bitch.’ Yeah, when this got played, we all lost our damn minds. Well, Kill the Noise has just dropped his equally insane remix of the head banger and he’s cranked it up to 11.

Kill the Noise took the already chaotic track added a little bit more anarchy and added some seriously good rock elements, including unexpected guitar solos throughout. All while reminding you to stop acting like a F$@%!&# bitch.

So, will you do it already? Just hit play on the stream below, get your hands up, and get ready for the face melting madness you’re about to hear. Enjoy!
