‘Forever’

It lands in the wake of ILLENIUM’s recent two-pack single bundle ‘Refuge’ with Norma Jean Martine and ‘Ur Alive’ featuring WYLDE. Beyond amassing millions of streams, he earned widespread acclaim for these songs.  EDM.com proclaimed, “ILLENIUM’s latest original music marks a fascinating evolution for the beloved producer. He has spent years perfecting the art of making festival crowds weep through soaring bass drops.”

The two-pack landed on the heels of his recent anthem ‘In My Arms‘ with HAYLA. Thus far, it has reeled in over 9.1 million Spotify streams. In addition to inciting critical applause, Billboard praised the song. They proclaimed, “each artist dials up their respective talents to 11, with the song fusing ILLENIUM’s soaring, anthemic future bass with Hayla’s power-lunged, chest thumping vocals.”

A Young Love Anthem with a Kid Cudi Nostalgic Twist

Opening with a dreamy melody and Kid Cudi’s soothing audibles, ‘Forever’ immediately brings a relaxed vibe, setting the tone for a nostalgic journey. Cudi’s vocals enter with a heartfelt verse before transitioning into the catchy chorus: “I want to stay forever.” This leads up to a playful, fun drop that presents a new side of Dom Dolla’s sound. Surprisingly, Dom moves away from his usual groovy style. In ‘Forever’, Dom keeps the mood mellow, ensuring the track embodies the vibe of a young love emotion. The second drop heightens the energy, before a phone call interlude with Kid Cudi ties it all together, adding depth to this nostalgic love story.

"When I'm in my dreams, you know?
I go from one thing to the other, you know?
Just thinkin' about my future
Where I wanna be
What I wanna do with my life, you know what I'm sayin'?
I'm guided by God
And I follow my heart, no matter what
You know, even
Even when it may seem that, you know, people don't understand
Fuck 'em
Ain't no time to think, I wanna stay forever (I wanna stay forever)"

‘Forever’ is a breathtaking afro house single anchored to an iridescent topline about sharing an eternal connection with a first love. Ebbing and flowing around the heart-melting delivery, the track glides along wistful circular piano chords, rolling tribal drums, vibrant percussive accents, and deep basslines. The song has generated significant buzz online pre-release and was used in this Reels post of Diplo scaling Mt. Fuji, which has received over 4.6M views.

“This original version of ‘Forever’ (by Adventure Club) was the anthem of  Ultra Music Festival 2014, which was also my first time performing at the festival in Miami. This track has stayed with me over the years and holds a lot of memories around this moment. So, when I was looking for a new sample, I realized no one had produced a house track version of this song, so I decided I would be the one to do it. While Diplo and I send each other music all the time, Malou actually first introduced the demo to him during a studio session they were doing together. I then sent him my first version of the song, which he tested out during his Antarctic set – the response was big, so many people were asking about the track. From there, we worked through a couple of modifications, and now it’s ready to share with the world,” HUGEL says.

Accompanying HUGEL and Diplo on this bonafide smash are Malou & Yuna. Malou is a singer/songwriter from LA who has become a hot ticket in dance music, leaving her stamp on progressive house, melodic house & techno, trance, bass, and beyond (releases with Ben Böhmer, Reinier Zonneveld, Jan Blomqvist, Giuseppe Ottaviani). Based out of LA, Yuna is an R&B and soulful pop artist whose silky vocals have graced tracks from some of the biggest names in dance (previous tracks with ZHU, Adventure Club, Ekali, Big Wild).

You can listen to ‘Forever’ below and on all available streaming platforms.

The tracks within the album had everything and we look forward to hearing them live very soon. It starts off pretty and is deep throughout. It has pop, hip-hop, and meaning to be found in every song. Don Diablo is always able to take us on a journey.

The Dutch producer and DJ recently kicked off 2022 with a new track ‘Face to Face’ Feat. Watts.’ Don veered away from the club, similar to his recent album, and provided an uplifting soulful tune. It shows off his range bringing melodic softs vibes. The music video shows Don going about his everyday life. He bikes around his city, experiences super trippy environments, and finally delivers flowers to someone special.

There are tickets still available to his upcoming shows in Brooklyn! You can buy them here.

Firslt, the track weaves beautiful melodies and bumps those techno drums we all know and love. Vocals open up the track as well, an unexpected take on the underground. Secondly, the melody is quite infectious with a bouncy beat. You can hear the progressive elements working their way into the track. This showcases his original style and creativity, utilizing various elements from multiple genres. Lastly, Crooked Bangs add just the right amount of pop and flair, taking this track to the main stage and dance floors of the future.

“‘Forever’ is the second glimpse into the melodic side of KILL SCRIPT. After all the world building into the KILL SCRIPT universe and displaying the struggle, ‘Forever’ is a beacon of hope that everything will work itself out. I combined my love for progressive and love for melodic techno and am very happy with how it came to be.”

Kill Script

Kill Script not only produces music, but integrates Sci-fi cinematography with techno to create intense live productions, always captivating the crowd. He breaches the barriers of the underground, having his first release in 2020. What’s more, is he’s commanded the stages of EDC Las Vegas, EDC Orlando, Electric Zoo, and Seismic Dance Event. As stated before, Forever is 21 tracks deep and features numerous collaborations from some of music’s biggest names. The album sees Don take his talents across numerous genres and soundscapes bringing names such as Gucci Mane, Enigma, and Imanbek along for the ride. The album also features  Galantis, Au/Ra, Ty Dolla $ign, as well. In addition to this, Forever opens up with a track from Don, and Camp Kubrick, which happens to be one of his latest side projects. I found this to be rather neat.

Hexagon FORΞVΞR

After doing some research for the album, I found a unique landing page, that I just had to share with you all. It is modeled after a 90-esque computer, which I thought was neat. You can find that here. I found the page to be rather endearing as it showcases everything that it means to be Don Diablo. It features acapella from tracks off the album, as well as videos, and photos from his shows and tours.

As I continued to look around, I found a few photos dated 1996, 1999, and more recently 2016. If this alone doesn’t display Don’s longevity in the scene, I’m not sure what will. In addition to this, it features exclusive wallpapers, Comics, and even a chat button. To say that Don Diablo cares about the Hexagon Universe he has created, would be an understatement.

With a trackless 21-tracks deep, this album is more than enough for listeners to get lost in. It is exactly one hour, and one minute long, and should take up a good portion of your day. Having said that, if you’re a fan of Hexagon, Don Diablo, or just good music, then this is an album for you. Don Diablo’s FORΞVΞR is out now on HEXAGON, and can be streamed below, enjoy.

The duo is known for their big progressive hits including working with Marin Garrix on ‘Forever’ and most recently ‘Hold On.’ This track begins with calm vocals introducing us to the main hook. Soon, the pace picks up and jubilation arrives once the drop kicks off.

The idea for this track apparently stemmed from wanting to capture the feelings you have after attending a big summer festival. I think they got it right on the dot if that is what they were going for. Put this in an aftermovie with fireworks going off and you surely will have emotions resurface.

Don Pepijn Schipper (a.k.a Don Diablo) announced via his Twitter on Monday morning that he would have to move the show from May 9th, to an later date in the future (to be announced).

Schipper’s main reason for delaying is because he is “[un]able to finish the FOREVER album and documentary in time to guarantee [his] fans the level of quality [he] wants to bring for this concert.”

Despite this set back, the artist announced that he would continue playing shows and releasing singles/remixes.

Ending the tweet on a positive note, Don continues:

Musically I am feeling more inspired than ever and creatively I am ready for the next level. Much love to all my Hexagonians for your support & understanding and I promise you it will all be worth the wait ❤️
