It opens with a robotic voice over a heavy bassline. The atmosphere feels dark and tense, before gritty synths push the track into harder territory. Those familiar Above & Beyond melodies gradually emerge as the energy builds.

Then comes the payoff. The intensity gives way to a softer, more spacious passage, with the melodies taking centre stage. Rather than keeping the pressure on, the track lets the emotion breathe. It’s a contrast that gives ‘Nights Like This’ its character, balancing a harder edge with the melodic sound that has long defined the trio.

The track has already become a regular in Above & Beyond’s live sets. They first debuted it during their sunrise set at EDC Las Vegas, before bringing it to major shows throughout the year. Those performances included a crowd of 10,000 at Silverworks Island in London and their ABGT700 milestone show at The Gorge Amphitheatre in Washington.

Armin van Buuren has also shown his support, naming ‘Nights Like This’ a Progressive Pick on episode 1298 of A State of Trance.

The return of wired headphones comes at an interesting time. Wireless earbuds have become the standard for everyday listening, but wired audio still has some advantages for music lovers.

Bose’s new earbuds connect directly through USB-C, allowing for lossless audio with minimal latency. That could make them particularly appealing for anyone who cares about hearing electronic music with as much detail as possible.

For EDM fans, that means cleaner bass, sharper synths and more detail in dense productions without relying on a Bluetooth connection.

The 4.2-foot cable also keeps the earbuds connected to the device, while an inline remote handles volume, playback and noise-control settings.

ANC Meets Old-School Design

Despite the retro-inspired wired setup, Bose has packed the earbuds with modern features.

Active noise cancellation lets listeners cut down on surrounding noise, while Aware Mode brings outside sounds back into the mix. ANC can also be switched off completely.

The inline remote includes an additional microphone as well, which Bose says can help capture clearer voice audio during phone calls.

The earbuds also carry an IPX4 water-resistance rating. A carrying case, three sizes of silicone eartips and two sizes of stability wings are included.

They come in Black, White Smoke and a limited-edition Dewdrop Mint finish.

Could Wired Audio Be Cool Again?

The comeback of wired headphones is part of a larger nostalgia cycle happening across consumer technology. CDs, point-and-shoot cameras and retro gaming hardware have all found new audiences.

Now, wired earbuds are getting another shot.

Bringing the Dance Floor Back to Dancing

As John Summit has continued his global touring throughout 2026, he’s certainly had plenty of experience watching large crowds respond to his music. Most recently, his Experts Only Festival returned to New York’s Randall’s Island on September 19th and 20th to a sea of eager fans. While his one-off and festival performances are certainly memorable social moments for his audience, it appears the focus outside of the music itself has become too noticeable to stay silent.

Max Styler, too, performed at Experts Only Festival alongside Summit and shares similar opinions, asking fans to “please stfu on the dance floor” in his post. While their comments aren’t necessarily linked to the New York festival, they certainly feel timely in an age of social and digital distraction where full presence feels harder to come by.

DJs are Talking Less Too

Interestingly, this subject mirrors another shift happening on the opposite side of the DJ booth. In March, Relentless Beats published an article examining why DJs have been using microphones less during their sets. The piece argues that audiences can better anticipate builds, drops, and musical cues without needing a DJ to tell them how and when to react.

The article believes that removing constant mic interaction can create a more immersive experience as an audience discovers impactful moments for themselves. And while less microphone use doesn’t insinuate they’ve disappeared altogether, it does reflect a shift towards longer climbs and atmospheric transitions designed to fully transport an audience in the moment.

Summit and Tyler’s views seem to align with the broader trend towards building more immersive experiences for fans. No matter your stance, every once in a while it can certainly be worth putting conversations on pause and letting music get the final word.

That flexibility has become an important part of Knight’s identity. The Miami-based producer has moved through house, hardgroove, acid, UK garage and techno, using the overlap between those styles rather than committing herself to a single lane.

Cole Knight Puts More Focus on Production

The HARD Recs debut arrives during a year in which Knight has made music production a bigger priority.

In an interview earlier this year, she described 2025 as a period largely spent developing Knight Club and establishing her identity as an artist. For 2026, she wanted to redirect more of that attention toward making and releasing music.

Knight Club has continued developing alongside that goal. The rave concept has hosted artists including Azzecca, Partiboi69 and Juicy Romance, giving Knight another platform to shape the musical environment around her rather than approaching each appearance solely as a DJ set.

Her relationship with sound also extends well outside nightlife. Before pursuing music professionally, Knight studied computer science and trained in sound meditation with David Shemesh and Alexandre Tannous. She now brings that background into Duality is Reality, an immersive project combining sound, meditation and breathwork.

The contrast between those projects is unusual but intentional. One explores sound through stillness and meditation, while Knight Club and records such as ‘Uno Dos Tres’ approach it through movement and physical energy.

Her touring schedule has expanded at the same time. Knight’s 2026 appearances include ARC Music Festival and Club Space, with III Points, Hocus Pocus, Seismic and EDC Colombia among the dates surrounding the latter part of the year.

‘Uno Dos Tres’ now brings that momentum to HARD Recs for the first time, adding another label to Knight’s growing catalogue while giving her a new home for the rave influences running through the record.

Deadmau5 Chimes In Classic Sarcasm

Naturally, the stunt stirred up serious debate across the internet. Deadmau5 could not resist tossing in his own two cents. Joel jabbed back sarcastically, saying that all his favorite DJs naturally play sixteen tracks at once. He even challenged Hype to pull it off without relying on MIDI and Resolume shortcuts. It sparked plenty of laughs, especially since the two traded friendly barbs earlier this year.

Long Road to Showtime

Building this beast is not just about having nearly $50,000 worth of gear. The engineering obstacles are genuinely brutal. Standard Pioneer Pro DJ Link was never engineered for sixteen players. The network simply cannot share beat grids, tempo sync, or track libraries across that many units natively. Audio routing is an equal nightmare. Running four separate four-channel mixers requires a dedicated master console just to sum the signals cleanly. One DJ researcher already drafted a workaround. The theoretical fix splits the players into four isolated networks managed by custom Rekordbox bridge software.

For now, the monster rig remains a massive work in progress. Networking, layout ergonomics, and summing problems still need real solutions. Beyond the cables, Hype openly confessed he still needs to learn how to play on it. Whether this ends up as an eight-, twelve-, or sixteen-deck monster, you have to respect the ambition. When he finally takes it live, expect pure chaos.

At 130 BPM, ‘Inside The Brain’ moves between tech house and bass house. A dark groove sets the foundation while punchy percussion and a recurring vocal add tension throughout the track. The production keeps its melodic elements relatively restrained, placing more emphasis on rhythm and low-end weight.

For SCRIPT, that approach contrasts with some of the more melodic records scattered throughout his catalogue. His releases increasingly move across different sides of house music rather than following one consistent formula.

Franksy brings a similarly broad background to the collaboration. His 2026 releases include work with TCTS, Lee Foss and BUJA, Redlight, and GENESI and ESSENTIA. The projects have taken him through house and tech house while connecting him with a growing range of producers.

SCRIPT Expands His 2026 Catalog

SCRIPT opened February with ‘Headshake’ through AFFAIRS before collaborating with KREAM on ‘Turn Up The Dose’ in April. ‘London to New York’ followed in June, then ‘Activator’ arrived through Innellea’s Belonging imprint in July.

Together, those tracks show how much ground SCRIPT has covered this year. Melodic house and techno remain part of his output, but releases such as ‘Headshake’ and now ‘Inside The Brain’ give the producer room to explore harder rhythms and heavier production.

Franksy also arrives with an existing connection to TSZR. He previously appeared on the imprint alongside Us Two for ‘Simulation,’ making ‘Inside The Brain’ another addition to his work with the label.

The new track started surfacing in DJ and radio tracklists earlier in September. Its official release now gives listeners the complete version after that brief period of pre-release circulation.

‘Inside The Brain’ ultimately lands at an interesting intersection between the pair. SCRIPT brings the range that has defined his recent releases, while Franksy’s experience across house and tech house complements the track’s darker direction. Rather than pushing either producer into unfamiliar territory, the collaboration finds common ground in the heavier parts of their respective catalogs.

Its release through Ministry of Sound also marks a change from ‘Get Up and Dance,’ which arrived through Cloonee’s own Hellbent Records. The label has become an increasingly important part of his career, serving as both a home for his music and a platform for other house producers.

Cloonee Builds Toward ‘Are You Still You?’

The new single adds to what has already been a busy release year for Cloonee.

In January, he teamed with Jocelyn Enriquez for ‘XTC,’ followed by ‘Free Your Mind’ with Prospa in March. He later revisited Groove Theory on ‘One Question’ and Nice & Smooth on ‘I Rhyme Quick,’ continuing his recent interest in connecting house music with recognizable vocals and records from outside the genre.

That momentum continued over the summer with ‘Good Girl,’ a collaboration alongside Prospa and Tristan Henry. Now, ‘Get Up and Dance’ and ‘Back Of The Club’ have arrived just seven days apart.

The pace points toward the larger project taking shape around Are You Still You?. Cloonee has already established himself well beyond individual club releases, selling out headline shows while taking Hellbent into its own events and expanding the label around his growing audience.

‘Back Of The Club’ brings the focus back to the dancefloor as the next stage of that rollout begins.

The series has run every year since 2022 and sits apart from the aftermovies. Where those are built on drone shots and drops, ‘We Are Tomorrow’ follows a handful of attendees through the year leading up to the festival and cuts their stories against one artist’s set on the grounds in Boom. The 2025 film, built around John Summit’s Mainstage moment, included Ladick, a 33 year old attendee who uses a wheelchair, and Rachael, who lives on Scotland’s Orkney Islands.

A Yearly Series With A Webby On The Shelf

Alok fronted the 2023 edition, which won a Webby in the Documentary (Branded) category. Vintage Culture led the 2024 film, released on YouTube on September 16 of that year, and the John Summit edition followed on October 4, 2025. Every installment has streamed free on YouTube.

Miss Monique, born Alesia Arkusha, is a Ukrainian DJ and producer working in progressive house and melodic techno, and she runs Siona Records. She played the Mainstage in 2025 and premiered her ‘Biorhythm’ audiovisual show at the Freedom Stage on July 17, 2026.

Separately, Tomorrowland has released its first sneaker. The WR1 was developed over more than a year, unveiled to attendees at Tomorrowland Belgium 2026, and is now available worldwide.
