After releasing new music this year, Pendulum shared with the fans a video-set from a beautiful location. Earlier this year, Pendulum released their first two singles in a decade, ‘Driver‘ and ‘Nothing For Free‘. The first has a driving baseline and punching vocals. Meanwhile, the latter is thunderous too, but more melodic and intertwined with soulful vocals.

Topping that off, Pendulum debuted a brand new track titled ‘Louder Than Words‘ which is a collaboration with Hybrid Minds. You can hear it around the 22:50 minute mark in the video!

On this occasion, Pendulum delivered a vibrant set with many of their all-time best hits. That’s in addition to the recently released music that had its place in this set. If you want to discover all the music that was played during the show, you can check the full tracklist here.

This set is a must-watch for the fans. Do not waste the opportunity to check Pendulum’s impressive set at Spitbank Fort below!

In the accompanying short video, the band appears on a 150-year-old Victorian military fort off England’s south coast, between the Isle of Wight and Portsmouth. Bassist Gareth McGrillen explained the idea behind playing a livestream in such an unprecedented place.

“I think the cuteness of the kitchen set for livestreams got old pretty quick. I think you can still be socially distant and grandiose at the same time,” McGrillen told Metro on Friday. “We’re going to show it is possible.”

Pendulum frontman Rob Swire added that the band had “a lot of plans this year,” starting with the new release, and then festivals.

“But now nothing’s happening. Everyone go home!” Swire said. “It has been interesting to see it all come together. I think it took everyone a long time to find their feet.”

New Music

While the group hasn’t revealed many details on their livestream, it’s safe for fans to assume that they will play their two new tracks. Pendulum released their first two singles in a decade, ‘Driver’ and ‘Nothing For Free,’ earlier this month. ‘Driver’ has a driving baseline and punching vocals. Meanwhile, ‘Nothing For Free’ is thunderous too, but more melodic and intertwined with soulful vocals. Both are satisfying for DnB fans of Pendulum’s 2010 studio album Immersion.

Though Pendulum took a hiatus from producing, the band has played several major festivals in recent years. They were set to do their Trinity show at Creamfields this year, before the festival was canceled due to Covid-19.

‘NOTHING FOR FREE’ & ‘DRIVER’ 17.09.20

A post shared by Pendulum (@pendulum) on Sep 14, 2020 at 9:00am PDT

With the arrival of this new work, Pendulum will return from their ten-year hiatus from releasing music. Although the electronic band has performed in some of the biggest festivals within the last few years, fans continue to anxiously wait for them to release new tunes.

In 2018, the band released The Reworks album which contained remixes of some of their earlier hits. Artists such as Skrillex, Noisia, Grabbitz, and Attlas debuted their own renditions of the iconic tracks. Once this album was released, Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen then chose to dedicate their time to the Knife Party Project. Luckily, they’re now back with brand new Pendulum music through two distinct tracks which fans will surely be happy about.

As a fellow Uber driver, I long for the day when I get to pick up and drive around my all-time favorite producer (eh em Skrillex). Well, Uber driver Jonathan got to pick up Alex and Drew of The Chainsmokers, who were on their way to one of their shows. Jonathan not only recognized them, but he happened to be a huge fan of the duo. When asked by Drew about his favorite Chainsmokers track, Jonathan was all about “Roses“. Alex and Drew actually got him to play the track on the car stereo, which turned into a full on sing-along the whole way there. They even got him to play “Roses” with a bunch of other riders he picked up that day, who were also jamming to the future pop track. Turns out, the whole thing was a set-up to make a killer music video for “Roses.” The duo really knows how to come up with new and interesting ways to connect with their fans, even dropping in on working ones. When he’s not producing records for some of the hottest musicians, playing sold-out shows around the world and getting into Twitter-beef with teenage girls, Diplo finds time to drive for Uber. Yes, you read that correctly and if you live in/will be in Los Angeles tomorrow, you might just get picked up by the Mad Decent boss himself. Just a few short days ago, we told you that the ridesharing service would be partnering with Spotify as a way to allow passengers to choose the tunes that they want to hear while cruising around town. Uber will be unveiling its latest innovation tomorrow and a few lucky users will be able to experience the new Spotify-enabled cars with Diplo. In oder to take part, you just have to follow these four simple steps:

1. Connect your Spotify account from the Uber Profile screen. You only need to do this once.

2. Open up the Uber app at 2 pm on Friday, November 21.

3. Request the special vehicle option. Tap the music bar and choose a song from any of your Spotify playlists while you wait for your Uber to arrive.

4. If your ride is confirmed, you and as many of your friends that can safely fit will be some of the first to experience the new Spotify-enabled Uber cars. And if you’re really lucky, get ready for the ride of your life with Diplo!

Good luck to those of you who plan on requesting a ride and we hope that Diplo will be just as good of an Uber driver as his fellow producer deadmau5.
