German spinner and music producer Tony y Not is carving a space for her, with a signature, often daring mix of House, Disco, and Acid Techno. Growing to be a global artist-to-watch in a short period of time, she’s graced the decks at some of the world’s most notable spots, including ADE, Brooklyn Mirage, fabric, Fusion Festival, and Hï.

Have You Lost Your Mind?

Tony y Not’s latest release goes right in line with the sound many know her for: minimalistic, yet full of life. Have You Lost Your Mind? is the name of the title track — from which the EP bears its name — of a double A sider of House goodies. Both tunes showcase artistic evolution and innovative outlook, coming from the young artist.

Ethereal, floaty, yet also highly groovy, the title track shines with a clean sound that pairs the best Disco one-hits, tons of subtle 303s, and seventh-House short plucks that can only add to the spiky percussion lines underneath. Look, I don’t tend to play this kind of House, but I’m stealing it to sneak it in the middle of my more energetic Prog House sets. It’s just so good.

While on the flipside, lies the classic-sounding ‘Deep Don’t Stop’. This is machine-programmed bliss. Drum machine percussion, placed in such a way that it fills the space enough while still leaving room to breathe, and for little core elements to take centre stage, such as the “Deep don’t stop” sample I’m sure all of us are familiar with, at least to a degree. Lovely.

I have only agreed on releasing Tim’s demo version of Forever Yours as a part of a full live album release from Tim’s last show, but since that album wasn’t released today and this is now being portrayed as a single, featuring me, I feel like I need to speak up“.

In his message he comments Tim’s family has insisted on him releasing the projects he had with the music star which never came to fruition, and that he’s constantly turned those requests down, saying “I don’t want to release any of those songs Without Tim being here. He is the only one who knew when his songs were finished and I do and will continue to respect that“.

Sporty-O

Sporty-O is a multi-genre producer and vocalist from Atlanta, whose front has been bridging the gap between EDM and Hip-Hop for a long while. During his over ten years of adventures in the industry, he’s had over 100 releases — out of which many became Beatport Top 10s —, including which stands ‘2Nite’, his 2010 work with Felguk, and the official song for EDC.

After crushing it at festivals such as EDC itself, but also Ultra, Das Energi, and many others, he’s now teamed up with production duo Lorme & Pedrumz for a larger project: a conjoint album. This LP will be released on November 9th, and to make the wait more easy to digest, they’ve lifted the first single off the body of work.

‘Angelic Psychedelic Relic’

Out of context, the title of this track sounds like a tongue twister, but put into context, it makes perfect sense. You may even surprise yourself singing to the lyrics. ‘Angelic Psychedelic Relic’ is one of the many collaborations you’ll soon get to hear between Sporty-O and Lorme & Pedrumz.

A feel-good, easygoing Drum & Bass composition, this track is the optimal candidate to showcase both acts’ style and approach to music production. The tune is truly infectious, with Sporty-O’s vocals nodding to the noughties at the same time that the beat — subtle but effective — carries you onward with swift drums and several layers of ear candy.

RÜFÜS DU SOL – Exhale

And just like clockwork, we find ourselves again drooling over GRAMMY-winning live electronic trio RÜFÜS DU SOL. Yes, they’re sexy, but more importantly, today we receive their fifth studio album Inhale / Exhale. The highly anticipated LP is out now via Rose Avenue/Reprise Records.

The entire album is a journey, and a story you are a part of one way or another. The closing track, ‘Exhale‘, therefore, feels like you have obtained peace through the experience. It reminds us of the ability to release lots of tension and bad juju through breathing out. And more importantly, being able to breathe again, soothingly.

Ben Hemsley – Tidal

Genre: Classic Trance

Ignore this came out last week (when we didn’t do a NMF). We’d been waiting on this one piece of blissful Trance for months, and now it’s ours for Eternity. Ben Hemsley. This man took the Trance scene by storm — and for all the good reasons. As of now, he has become one of the younger figures in who we trust to restore Trance to its former glory.

Inspired by the golden era of Trance, Ben Hemsley’s ‘Tidal’ featuring the vocals of Rose Gray is one of the year’s most anticipated releases, by a mile. The 10.5-minute-long track blends Classic Trance hallmarks with innovative soundscapes, all while Rose Gray’s ethereal voice adds an emotional layer to the narrative of a turbulent on-and-off relationship.

Adam Beyer – Don’t Go

Genre: Techno (Peak-Time)

Adam Beyer continues to push Techno’s boundaries with diverse elements while staying true to the beat, with his new EP Don’t Go, out today. Picking up where he left off with previous EPs and collabs, Drumcode’s label boss delivers a two tracker of epic proportions, marked by a creative use of vocal samples and vocal processing, creating an extra layer of rampant power.

The title track, ‘Don’t Go‘, kicks off with spacey elements of hoover and doppler FX, maintaining an assertive, demanding forward thrust throughout but soon becoming dominated by the vocal sample, a two-line Afro-vibe chorus of mixed voices processed as a riff, then a melody, and then building through the big breakdown into a huge drop.

Gorgon City & Max Styler – Touch

Genre: Tech House

The Electronic music scene is buzzing with excitement as Gorgon City teams up with Max Styler for their latest track, ‘Touch‘. Known for their unique blend of Deep House and vibrant Pop elements, this collaboration is no exception. Let’s dive into what makes ‘Touch’ a standout addition to both artists’ discographies.

Live-brass-infused Electronic duo Willdabeast (Will Glazier and Dan de Lisle) continue to contribute to the Hybrid Bass music scene in the U.S., offering a fresh, genre-bending perspective. Their signature, distinctive note incorporates their iconic horns and flute into their tracks across a wide range of Dance genres. In fact, this is not the first time we’ve shared a release of theirs.

Garlic Party

Garlic Party, a purveyor of fine, funkified beats, has been reviving Ghetto Funk with his new spins on the old school genre throughout Western Australia and beyond. Also known as Timmy Howe, he’s become an important figure in the Great Southern Land music industry, and he has contributed significantly to regional events like Rain Dance Festival.

‘Killa’

Both mastermind acts Garlic Party and Willdabeast have recently joined forces to produce a belter of a song. ‘Killa’ is a standout track that combines elements of Funk, Bass, and even Techno. The song’s catchy melody and infectious beat make it a dancefloor-deserving tune, something you’d play at a peak energy section of your set. The collaboration brings the artists alongside MC Brotha Nature’s powerful vocals, for the icing on the cake.

Enjoy the synergy of all elements coming together in an ideal combination. First a Mid-tempo track, it quickly evolves to something that’s straight out of your favourite Skate franchise soundtrack, but all at once. It’s a rush that you feel with ‘Killa’; it’s a piece that truly makes you feel good and motivated, and it also tests your strongest stank face, or, as the old joke comes in here, your Imhotep face.

Marsh & ALLKNIGHT – Rabbit Hole

The weekend couldn’t have started on a better note. We’re fans of Marsh, and we’re fans of Jodie Knight (also known as ALLKNIGHT in the Dance music world), so the news that they teamed up for another choon for the books is absolutely wonderful. Tom and Jodie now unveil ‘Rabbit Hole‘, their new singalong.

Blending their styles in a way we’re already quite familiar with — not at all saying we’re tired of that formula, at all — ‘Rabbit Hole‘ is part of Marsh’s upcoming EP, Aria, which was inspired by his successful live shows in London and Manchester. The EP will be released on November 15th, and Tom is already on tour to celebrate and support it.

Guy J – Just Rain

Genre: Progressive House

Today we have amazing news to share, as, even though the L&F chapter is already complete, Guy J has opened the door to a new era: The Early Morning era. A new imprint, with new ideas, similar concepts and feelings, and led by the mastermind behind countless records we’ve loved for decades. Truly spectacular.

How could you possibly launch a record label in style? Let the founder cast some magic onto your ears and heart. And that’s why Early Morning’s earliest release comes from Guy J himself, in the form of a double tracker, the ‘Million Years from Now / Just Rain‘ EP. Both tracks are nothing more than minutes and minutes on end of pure happiness and fly-away, hypnotising atmospheres, textures, and patterns, resting over a groovy base, boomy low end (in the best of ways), and a general picture that is simply spectacular. In other words, the EP is a sort of music Bob Ross thing.

John Summit, Paige Cavell – Tears (Max Styler Remix)

Genre: Tech House

How do you improve a track that’s phenomenal already? Well, you release a remix of it, of course. This is what the Experts Only label boss John Summit did for one of his star songs of his debut album Comfort in Chaos. Thus, House music icon Max Styler rendered his vision of ‘Tears’ featuring vocalist Paige Cavell, for a wonderful journey ahead. The track is avaibale on both Darkroom and Experts Only.

Just as Max Styler does, he brings out an incredible side of ‘Tears’ that can be interpreted differently from the original. With haunting reverbs, and incredible depth, the remix showcases Styler’s capabilities to showcase different emotions, while highlighting the strongest elements from the original track. Paige Cavell’s vocals now turn into an empowered version of the original, and the feeling of sadness washes away.

Jeremy Olander – Nextune

Genre: Deep House, Melodic Techno

They say good things comes to those that wait. Referred to by fans as ‘Soundbar ID 03‘, Jeremy Olander‘s ‘Nextune’ has been wreaking havoc in the Swede’s sets across the globe for close to a decade. Now, it’s finally getting an official release on Vivrant Imprint. Patience is a virtue, and this song is as timeless as ever.

Right at the intersection of Deep House and Techno, Olander possesses the skills to develop enigmatic and inspiring soundscapes. ‘Nextune’ has been a fan favorite for a decade, and releasing it this year pays homage to its timelessness. A sound that never gets old, the progression of string arrangements and soft melodies builds up into a dynamic and titilating drop.

Writer Picks

Even though all tracks are pointy and banging — as they should be —, there’s something in ‘All For Myself‘ which stuck with me from the first listen. I’ll call it the “House-groovy-resemblance-ness” it has, for lack of better words. Funnily enough, I think that Frankenstein word I just made up gets my point across.

The track scratches my craving for jazzy chords and blending of genres in just the right spot. You can hear early Tchami influences during the break, even earlier House stab chords, warm, rounded synths, and even yesteryear vocal lines, but it’s all, once again, adapted to the contemporary sounds of Tech House. It’s also a very minimalistic track, not a super over-the-top arrangement. It lets every element shine, and I dig it quite a bunch for it.

We’re happy to welcome back an artist we’ve featured a number of times on our site. Even if you don’t recall his name at first, you surely have heard his music, at ASOT1000 for instance, or the Group Therapy radioshow, or Andrew Rayel’s sets. He’s all over the world, and his name is Loreno Mayer.

Loreno Mayer

From Croatia to the world, Loreno Mayer has truly left a mark on the Dance scene during his years involved in the industry. His tracks have been supported by top DJs and featured at major festivals. Proper singles of his took off in quite an impressive way, namely, ‘GIANTS’ being supported all over the world, and more recently ‘Who You Are’ trending on 1001Tracklists reaching the Top 10 on overall tracks.

Having worked with a variety of artists such as Paul Arcane and Quizzow, and also releasing a handful of solo singles on labels such as Revealed, AVA, and Nanostate, he’s more than well on his way to becoming one of the leading forces of the Dance industry in the near future, that’s for sure.

‘A Little More Love’

A release signed on BODYWRMR, label belonging to former Dash Berlin icon Jeffrey Sutorius, Mayer’s latest single is called ‘A Little More Love’, and even though the title has the word “little” in it, the story of how the track came to be is huge. In conversations with us, he told us the piece was first ideated in the middle of Lockdown, in 2020. By far the longest time Loreno spent on this track was switching between vocalists, as three voices had a go at it.

The first one to vocalise this tune was Brandon Mignacca, from the Rock band Chair Warriors. When he received the vocals, Mayer immediately imagined a different track. So that vocal line gave birth to an entirely new track which is now the successful ‘Lose It All’. After that, he turned to Alessa for vocals and Robbie Rosen as a writer. The idea was so good, Loreno once again crafted an entirely new idea with those vocals, which became ‘Without Your Love’.

He finally got approached by Joe Taylor, who’s worked with stars like Tiësto and Kygo, and he too had a go. The rest is history. The track was finally finished, and you can hear the result right now. The finished track is a blast from the past, a spot-on moment of nostalgia for those decade-old Progressive House sounds we all know and love.

Amy Wiles & Nourey – Human

Amy Wiles is back in the studio with the release of the long-awaited Here I Am EP. By sheer coincidence, the five-track release is comprised entirely of female acts. Alongside Amy, who rocks the two solo tracks ‘For You’ and the title track ‘Here I Am’, Nourey, HANA, and Leena Punks all make an appearance this time, on the tracks ‘Human’, ‘Dreamland’, and ‘Sweet Feeling’ respectively.

‘Human’ has got something I can only describe as the sound I fell in love with when I first discovered Anjuna. I came to the label around 2015, so Progressive Trance was in full swing, and I can really see the link between Amy and Nour’s track and, say, a hybrid between Sunny Lax and the later years of ilan Bluestone. It’s got the groove, the vibe, the tension… everything.

Elephante & yetep feat. Daye – All We Get

Genre: Melodic Bass

Elephante and yetep are set to captivate fans with their latest collaboration, ‘All We Get,’ featuring the soulful vocals of Daye. The highly-anticipated single is out now on Elephante’s label, Hidden Horizon. This is the next look at Elephante’s evolving soundscape as it leads up to the release of his forthcoming album, Cope.

The track is a testament to their shared passion for creating music that resonates deeply with listeners.
